The Unexpected Wish

Claire's POV

"are you sure that you will be alright here mom?" I ask as I pack my things

"of course sweetie" she answered

"why did you refuse to live in the mansion with me?"

"Claire you know that your grandparents especially your grandma didn't want me right?"

"right. but they should accept you now because your my mother and your the wife of their son!" I protest

"shhh....I'm so lucky to have you Claire" mom said as she kissed my forehead

As we enjoyed our moments together a car horned infront of the house. My service is here. Mom help me to carry my bags and put it inside the car. We hugged each other tightly.

"take care and be good Claire" mom said

"okay mom. please take care also huh?"

"yes sweetie"

When I'm finally inside the car the driver start the engine. As we drive our way to the mansion I remember the good memories with my father. I remember when he use to accompany me to my school and before we go home we always went to the grocery to buy some ice cream and chocolates for me. I miss those times with him. I hope that he can survive from his cancer. I wonder if what will happen to me when I live in the mansion.

When I finally arrived at the mansion I didn't expect it as I imagine. The mansion is not that big as I expected. The maid open the door and I let them carry my bags. Suddenly an old woman hugged me tightly.

"welcome home my beautiful grand daughter" the old woman said

"grandma?"

"yes! I'm your dearest grandma. And from now on I want you to call me granny" she said as she release me from her arms

"gg....granny? oh ooo....okay granny" I replied

"your father is waiting for you upstairs" she said

As I stand infront of the door I hesitate to knock and go inside the room. I can't look at him like that. Five minutes had almost passed but I still didn't knock on my father's door.

"what are you still doing there?" a maid ask

"oh uuuhhhmmm..."

The maid came towards the door and knock.

"sir,your daughter has arrived can she come in?" the maid ask

"yes" a voice response from the room

"ahhh... thank you" I said to the maid

"your welcome ma'am" she replied

I opened the door and found a man laying on the bed. I slowly walk towards him.

"hi dad" I greeted

"Hello Claire, how are you?" he responds

"I'm doing great. How about you?"

"Well as you can see here I am helplessly laying on this bed"

"dad I'm sorry"

"sorry for what?"

"sorry because that happened to you"

"sweetie,we really don't know what will happen to our future. We just need to go with the flow"

"dad can I hug you?" I ask

"of course sweetie,come here" he replied

I came near to my dad and hug him tightly. I miss him so much and I really don't want to let him leave us. I still want him grow old with my mom.

"Claire, I have a one last wish before I die" dad muttered

"dad please don't say that"

"Claire please tell me that you will fulfill this"

"hmmm. what is it?"

" my bestfriend Mr. Choi have a son"

"what about it?"

"I want you to marry him" dad stated

"what? you want me to marry his son?! no dad! I don't even know him!"

"that's why were going to introduce to each other" he muttered

"but dad I don't even know him and love him!"

"you will learn to love him"

"but dad! its so unfair!"

"Claire.."

"I came here for you to take care of you! And now all you want to me to do is to marry your bestfriend's son?!"

"Claire please.."

I hurriedly went out from the room. Granny is sitting at the sofa and sipping her tea.

"where are you going Claire?" granny ask

"I'm going back home granny!" I answer

"what? why?"

"well you can ask my dad"

"what happened Claire,please tell me"

"bye granny"

I quickly went out from the mansion and start walking away from the mansion. I didn't know what to do. I feel so unlucky right now.As I continue to walk and don't know where to go a man from the mansion came running towards me.

"ma'am Claire!" the man called

"what is it?" I ask

"your dad!"

"what about my dad?" I ask nervously

"your dad got rush to the hospital!"

"what happened? why did you still came here?" I ask

"your grandma told me to called you and drive you to the hospital" the man replied

"oo...okay! come on!" I said

The driver quickly drive me to the hospital. When we finally arrived I hurriedly run inside the hospital and ask where is my father's room. When I finally inside the room I found my granny sitting beside my the bed where my father is. I walk towards my granny and ask her what happened.

"your father feel a sudden pain" granny said

"I'm sorry I left him. Maybe it's my fault." I said

"shhh... no sweetheart it's not your fault" granny said as she hold my hand

Two hours have been passed but my dad is still unconscious. Granny decided to go home to get some rest. I decided to left here in the hospital to wait for dad to wake. Suddenly his eyes slowly open.

"dad! are you okay? should I call the doctor?" I ask

"no, I'm alright Claire don't worry" dad respond

"dad,I'm so sorry about what happened earlier. I didn't mean to say that and leave you like that"

"it's alright sweetie. I understand your feelings"

"is marrying the son of your bestfriend really is youre wish?" I ask

"not really. Actually when were still in highschool we promised to each other that when we already have a son or a daughter we will make them marry each other"

"dad, so those things still exist for you?" I ask

"well it's my promise to my only bestfriend and before I die l want to fulfill all the promises that I made" dad explained

"but dad its kinda lame!" I respond

"please Claire. atleast give yourself a chance to know him. please Claire"

"but what if he don't like me either?"

"Claire youre beautiful,smart,lovable and unique. Every guy would fall inlove to you"

"I already knew it dad" I joked

Dad laugh on what I said.

"yeah, because you inherit all of them from me" dad said

"hahaha! I think your right dad" I replied

"so are you saying yes?" dad ask

"errrmmm"

"Claire?"

"okay. it's a yes!" I answered

"really? well that's Good!" dad respond

"but if he's not handsome forget it!" I joked

"I'm sure you will like him and he will fall for you easily to" dad said

"I hope so" I replied
