Chapter 11

19:20, 24 April 2016

*Payton's POV*I was in my room when my phone buzzed on my bedside table, forcing me to roll over my bed and retrieve it.

•Babe❤️•Come overrrr, I miss you😩

I responded.

•Payton•Already? On my way💘😂

I grabbed my bag and walked downstairs. I turned a corner into the hall leading into my living room when I saw Kaden there. Must've been hanging out with Sean.

"Hey.." I said awkwardly, rolling back and forth on my heels.

"See, this is what's wrong with us. We can't even hold a conversation together and we used to finish each other's sentences," he proved.

"It's not my fault you moved," I mumbled.

"Well it's not like I had much of a choice. Neither of us did. You of all people should understand. I just don't want the time apart from us to get in the way of the friendship we used to have," he said.

"We just need some bonding time again. The move's been hard on everyone, I'm sorry for being so hard on you," I walked over to him and gave him a hug.

"You have a lot of talking shit to make up for," he chuckled.

"I've always been good at that," I laughed.

I was suddenly interrupted when the doorbell rang. I went to go answer it, and there stood Brooklyn.

"You took too long," he smiled, taking me by my waist and pulling me in and giving me an extra long kiss.

"You sure missed me," I giggled at the thought; we've only been apart for a couple of hours. He really must like me..

We walked through the hallway and saw Sean and Kaden. Guess Sean found his way back into the room when I was gone, thank god, just the three of us would've been way too awkward.

I saw Brooklyn tense up, and rubbed his arm up and down to try and calm him. It worked, but I could still see something in his eyes that wasn't there before. Jealousy. "Uh..converse," I said before dashing upstairs. Eh, they'll figure it out on their own.. and hopefully stay in one piece.

*Kaden's POV*Payton walks through the hall with a boy hooked around her arm. Brooklyn.

I couldn't help but feel that that should've been me, but I guess I'm too late since we've been apart for too long, the thing Payton and I had before I moved was gone with it too, I guess.

"Uh.. converse," she ran upstairs before I could say something.

"Hey.." Brooklyn said. "Didn't know you knew Payton.."

"Yeah, um, we used to be close when we were all in LA. You should know that me and Pay, we're just friends and I'm not gonna get in the way of whatever you guys are," I said.

"Well thanks. I'm gonna go upstairs now, but we should hang out later, maybe with the guys or something," he said backing away. I nodded my head just as he left and sat back down on the couch.

"That went better than I thought it would," I said over to Sean, who was still in the room.

"Yeah. Brooklyn's good for Payton. Never seen her smile this much," he said over to me. Well there's one thing Sean.. you were in London for a short while when she was with me. And I can tell you, she smiled a hell of a lot.

*Payton's POV*I was on my bed, checking up on social media and retweeting some cute #paytonbeckham tweets, when I heard my door open behind me. I wasn't facing the door, but I had a feeling it was Brooklyn. My thoughts were confirmed when arms grabbed my waist and pulled me close.

"How'd it go?" I asked, trying not to laugh.

"Wonderful." he said through his teeth.

"You guys will still be friends, nothing's changed," I said smiling.

"Do you still like him?" He asked. I just turned around on him, going back on my phone. "Babeee.. Rumor has it that you two had a thing going on before he moved here. Now that he's back I can't help but think that it will continue," he told me, looking truly concerned.

"I'm not going anywhere," I smiled, reassuring him.

"Good, because neither am I." he smiled, turning me back over and kissing me. "Wanna go over to my house and have dinner with my parents? They wanna get to know you more, and we can watch a movie after?"

"I'd love to, what should I wear?" I asked.

"Can I pick?" He asked.

"Please be nice.." I joked.

He went into my closet and looked around and came out with a black dress, with a jeweled slit back(pic in media slot). I smiled as he handed me the dress. We walked over across the street and went upstairs to his room. I got changed in the bathroom and came out to see that Brooklyn did too. He was wearing a dark grey tee, black jeans and all black vans(pic in media slot). Casual, but really hot.

"Zip me up please?" I asked, turning my back to him. I felt warm hands pressed against my back, and heard a zip. I turned around and put on my black heels that I brought and looked in the mirror, straightening out my dress.

Brooklyn came up behind me, putting his hands around my waist.

"You look beautiful," he whispered into my ear. I blushed, leaning my head back and pecking him on the lips.

"Thank you, you look pretty hot yourself," I winked, grabbing my clutch and walking down with Brooklyn.

When we got to the kitchen, I saw Vic putting on her earrings in the mirror hanging above a small table. She had a black dress on, that was wrapped tight and had mesh in the front top(pic in media slot).

"Well you look stunning," she gushed, turning around.

"Thank you, your dress is gorgeous though! Is that Burberry?" I smiled.

"Good eye.." She smiled. David walked in through a door, wearing all black and a leather jacket(pic in media slot).

"Nice to see you again, Payton," David said.

"Same goes for you," I smiled back. "You didn't need to go through all of this trouble though, I would've been more than happy with a pizza box and the kids running around," I said laughing, "they're all so adorable!"

"Keep her Brook," David winked.

"I will," Brooklyn smiled, grabbing hold of my hand.

We drove to a fancy restaurant, making small talk along the way. I really liked his parents, they were so sweet, and reminded me a lot of my parents. We pulled up for valet, Brooklyn getting out and holding the car door for me. He led me to the restaurant holding my hand, the paps snapping pictures of us 4 every now and then. An employee held the door for us as we entered, as we waited to be seated. A waitress sat us down at a table, and set menus down at every seat. Brooklyn pulled my chair out, and had me sit down. I smiled up at him, and he returned a smile.

"Before we order, would you mind going to the restroom with me, Payton?" I nodded my head and got up. We walked to the bathroom and I took out my lip balm, powder and eyelash curler and freshened up.

"You know, Brooklyn's never brought a girl home to us before," she said, smiling.

"What do you mean? I've seen him with other girls," I questioned, looking confused.

"Well yeah, they stayed for 1-2 days, then I would never see them again. And none of them brought out this side of Brooklyn. He never shuts up about you, for 4 days, all I've been hearing from him is about you," she said. I smiled at that.

"All good things I hope?" I asked, still trying to contain the smile on my face that keeps growing.

"All good things," she smiled back. "Shall we head back?"

"Sure," I said putting my makeup back into my bag. We headed out back to the table, and David and Brooklyn suddenly got quiet.

*Brooklyn's POV*Payton looked stunning tonight, but she usually does anyways. We got to the table and my mom and Payton went to the bathroom together, probably to talk about me, I wouldn't be surprised. Once they left, my dad turned to me.

"You really like her, don't you Brook," he asked.

"I've never had feelings for a girl before, she broke me," I laughed, looking down at the ground.

"That's what they do to you, but then they're there to put you back together," he smiled.

"It's only been 4 days, but honestly I'm insane to think that I might be in love with her." I said, hoping he would tell me otherwise. I want my dad to tell me that it's just kiddy love, and that it doesn't mean anything. Because I haven't even known Payton for a week yet, and she's already on my mind every second of the day.

"That's what happens when you really love someone. I knew I was gonna marry your mother from the moment I laid eyes on her. Too bad she hated me at first.. But eventually she fell in love, and I did too." my dad said. I couldn't help but smile, even though I was scared of how much that sounded like Payton and I. They came back and we hushed up before they could hear what we were talking about.

"What were you guys talking about?" Payton asked.

"Nothing," I smiled and she sat down next to me, grabbing her hand under the table.

What is this girl doing to me?
