Chapter 28

08:45, 1 March 2018

'Sometimes, words just weren't enough anymore. They needed to touch, to feel, to make sure it's there. That this moment was real and not another fantasy.'

***************

It was a Tuesday when Forth had decided that he will take out the laundry to the laundry shop a bit earlier this week because he and Beam would be spending the weekend at his home. Forth had a habit of segregating the laundry before taking it out, he was fussy like that. Well, both he and Beam had no classes in the afternoon so they decided to stay at Beam's dorm room (where he practically lives. Honestly, with this level of domesticity it felt like they were married already.)

"What are you doing?' Beam's hoarse voice filled his ears as the male was stirred awake when he knocked over a stack of books stacked on top of a mini table.

"Oh sorry. Did i woke you up?" Forth made a face a he turned to him, sounding a bit guilty.

"Mmkay." Beam aimlessly walked to the bathroom with Forth's searching gaze following him.

Sigh.

I wonder what's wrong this time.

***************

Beam was restless.

He hoped it would go away if he took a nap but when he woke up, he still felt heavy. I sleep tired and i wake up tired. What's new?

Sigh.

He was awoken by thud of books hitting the floor.

"Oh sorry. Did i woke you up?" Forth looked at him with that worried expression and he aimlessly walked towards the bathroom. He didn't want to be subjected to his searching gaze right now. No. Not yet.

He locked the door to be alone to his thoughts for now.

Beam was drowning from his thoughts when he snapped out of hi reverie as Forth knocked on the door.

"Beam? Is everything okay?" comes a muffled voice from the other side of the door.

Sigh.

"Beam? You've been there for almost an hour..are you okay?" Forth sounded really worried.

He washed his face to gather up his thoughts and looked at himself at the mirror to compose himself before he unlocked the door.

"What's wrong?" Forth sounded very worried and unsettled and Beam felt like an idiot for behaving this way. But he can't take it out of his mind.

Beam crashed on to him on a tight hug which startled Forth for a moment but hugged him back with equal force and they stayed like that for over three minutes until Forth asked again.

"Is everything okay? You know you can tell me anything, right?"

Beam nodded against his shoulder before he let go and gave Forth a soft kiss on the lips. Beam no longer gets bashful whenever he is the one who initiates romantic gestures, one which Forth now has gotten used to. "Later. I'll tell you later. Okay?"

Forth's worried stare loosened up a bit and nodded. "Okay."

"Let's go down to the laundry shop and eat after we take it there. I'm hungry." Beam walks over to the bed successfully getting Forth into thinking that whatever he was bothered about was not a serious case. Or so he thought.

Forth, who by now gets Beam's mood pushed the worries into the back of his mind for later.

Beam grabbed a sweatshirt neatly folded on the bed and Forth looked at him with furrowed brows, the issue of Beam's troubles momentarily forgotten.

"Take a picture Forth, they last longer."

Forth gave him that loop sided smile, admiring how Beam looks smol and cute as his fingers disappears through the shirt's long sleeves. "That's mine." he points to the maroon sweatshirt Beam had put on.

Beam pouts. "It's on my bed." and then reached for his wallet and phone. "so it's mine."

Forth chuckles. "That rule didn't even exist until now. And you keep wearing my clothes."

"Whaat. They're comfy. Come on I'm hungry. And don't be so stingy." Beam protests as he opens the door and wait for Forth to follow.

Forth smiles and shakes his head as he picked up the hamper containing their laundry and followed his boyfriend outside.

***

Forth was observing him while they eat, Beam hardly made any comments about the food which was a way of letting Forth know if Beam was okay. He eats anything but he was fussy with food.

"Let's get beer before we head back, mm?" Beam smiles innocently but Forth knows his pretense of acting like everything was alright was coming to an end. His eyes says it all.

"Your head must be in a riot if you crave alcohol on a school night." He looks at Beam, waiting for him to spill whatever it was that makes him seem restless. Beam made a face and shrugged.

***************

"Are you okay now?" Forth looked at Beam. They were sitting on the floor near the glass door leading to the balcony, their backs resting on the side of the bed. The room was already dark and was only illuminated by the faint lights from outside.

"Mm. Just thinking of something." came Beam's answer, not looking back at him.

Forth opened another can of the ten cans they bought - no scratch that - Beam grabbed out of the store's fridge.

"What about?"

Beam exhaled and closed his eyes and then rested his head on Forth's shoulder. Forth waited for an answer that never came.

As the night deepens, more and more cans of beer were popped open with Beam drinking most of the liquor. His head still resting on Forth's shoulder and Forth intertwined their hands and planted soft kisses on it every now and then.

Six cans now empty and Beam can't handle it anymore. He can't take it out of his mind. He can't take his Mae out of his mind.

Beam lifted his head and looked at Forth the same moment he looked at Beam. For a brief second, Forth's eyes traveled from his eyes to his lips and back again. And Beam knew what it meant but Forth was visibly sober enough to hold back. So he made a move.

Beam leaned in and instinctively Forth did too.

Forth's kiss was soft and gentle but Beam kissed him back rough and hard.

Then as if it wasn't enough, he made a move to sit on top of Forth's lap kissing him harder this time, trying to make him lose control.

But Forth, like the gentleman that he was, stopped kissing him and stared into his eyes. Seeking answers through his gaze. Now he was positive that something was wrong. Beam looked desperate.

"You love me right? Show me."

And then Beam kissed him again. Hard.

Forth pulled out on the kiss again, confused.

"What's the matter Beam?"

One simple question, and then Beam bursts into tears.

"Make it go away Forth..i can't make it go away help me make it go away! Please."

"Babe what's wro-

"Just make love to me and help me forget! Just please make it go away.. I can't.."

He hugged a crying Beam who was still sitting on his lap.

"Make it go away... Please."

He kissed Beam's forehead but Beam had another idea. He put both his hands on Forth's neck and kissed him, hungrily this time and briefly pulled away when Forth was going let out another protest.

"I trust you...so shut the fuck up and kiss me."

And without another protest, Forth obliged. He kissed Beam with gentle kisses until Beam kissed him back without the roughness making him take the lead.

Breaking the kiss momentarily, he lifted Beam onto the bed and crawled on top of him locking their lips again.

Room temperature escalated quickly even when the air conditioning works totally fine.

But hot air wasn't the only thing that filled the room.

Beer flavored kisses.

Soft moans.

Heavy breathing.

Clothing being thrown out of the bed and into the floor.

Quiet moans.

"Ready?"

A nod.

Loud moans.

Moans out of pain and then pleasure.

Gasps.

And repeat until daylight crawls up into the horizon.

Come morning and this room would welcome a new day with clothes thrown haphazardly onto the floor, messed up sheets and a couple who had just took their relationship to the another level, out of ones drastic need for distraction.
