Chapter 27

09:58, 3 February 2018

"But i tore down my walls. And open my doors. And made room for one. So baby I'm yours."

- Alessia Cara, I'm yours.

"Forth." Beam's calm voice echoed in the still dark room. None of them wanted to get up and open the drapes of the window. It was almost past noon but both of them had not moved from how they were about an hour ago. Beam's head lay in Forth's right arm.

"Hmmn?"

"Were you mad at me?" He asks as his eyes were levelled in Forth's chest watching it rise and fall as he breathes. His fingers traced little circles in Forth's abdomen.

Forth replied without second a thought. "No."

"What were you then?"

"Hurt." Forth says calmly. Beam's finger stopped drawing little circles on his abdomen when he heard.

"But i understand why you did it." Forth continues. "You were pressured to give me answers even when you didn't want to explain at the moment and you just..snapped."

"I'm hard to be with, aren't i? A pain in the ass." Beam mused. It wasn't a statement nor was it a question. But Forth answered anyway.

"No. But even if you were. I just have to deal with it." He held Beam's hand that rested on his chest and squeezed. "I signed up for it. Remember? Besides, even if you were a pain in the butt, you're my pain in the butt. And i love you for that. I'm sorry i walked out on you."

How many million times do people around me have to apologize just for me to feel better? Beam thought, bit mad at himself.

Beam hugged Forth tighter as if to say that everything was fine. He was tired of telling Forth that he didn't have to apologize over and over but obviously, Forth was still guilty that he left him and that he became a horrible mess just moments after.

"It's fine. I'm just glad that you came back. I didn't expect you to."

"I just said i was hurt. I didn't say that i quit. I'm here now and I'm staying. I'm yours."

Forth felt Beam's smile though he can't see his face. Beam was slowly getting back to his usual self by the minute. They had layed in each other's arms for almost two hours now. Everything was going to be okay from now on. He was hopeful.

"Where did you go by the way?" Beam asks after a minute or two of silence.

"Had some drinks at the rooftop of our dorm building. Lam must have dragged me back to my room. I have no memory of how i ended up there."

Beam clucked his tongue, clearly unconvinced.

"Okay. I'm not going to ask how your phone ended up with Lin since you have no memory of anything from last night."

"What?"

"See?" Beam rolls his eyes.

"How?" Forth's eyebrows were almost touching each other as he frowns in confusion trying to remember if he had encountered Lin last night.

"Would i ask you if i know? Or maybe she's the one who brought you to your room last night?" Beam's usual sassy tone filled his ears.

"Of course not. I'm so damn sure i was talking to Lam last night." Forth didn't know if he was going to be happy that Beam's personality was back to normal or he would be terrified that Beam sounded murderous. Either way, it was a relief that he had stopped crying.

Beam shifted his position to lay on his tummy. His elbows supporting his upper body as he glares at his still confused boyfriend.

"Sure?" His eyes almost turned into slits. Forth was mortified because he can't remember anything after they finished all the beers.

"Beam?! I'm so sure. Why don't we call Lam? Okay? Let's call Lam. He will tell you he was with me last night. Okay? Let's do that." Forth was getting frantic and Beam had to fight the urge of laughing.

Beam stares at him for a moment. Forth felt like a specimen being examined. His memory of last night's even was being under suspicion and his wall of self awareness under intoxication felt like it might crumble any minute.

"Whatever. I'm hungry."

Wtf?! (o_O)?!

"What?" Forth blinked several times. Beam keeps confusing him by the minute.

"I said. I'm hungry." Beam says deadpanned. He hasn't had any food since yesterday afternoon and is getting moody.

"You're not mad at me?"

"Of course not. I believed you before you even told me. I was just teasing you." Beam smirked.

"Beam?! Stop doing that!" Forth whines.

"Stop being afraid of me Forth. I know you wouldn't go to her just because we fought. You aren't that shallow. I know you. You're mine remember?" Forth caught Beam smirking as he was shifting into his original position where his head rested in Forth's right arm. Not five seconds later and he shifted back on laying on his tummy, his forehead rested on Forth's arm just above his armpit.

Forth grinned in relief. They were officially back to normal. But it still baffled him how Beam's mood affected his confidence.

"Are you sniffing my — Ow! What the heck Beam?!" Forth yelps as he felt Beam's teeth dig onto his flesh where his shoulder and arm meet, just above his armpit, which stung very much.

"Ayshedaywushunry." Beam says without removing his bite.

*

"I'd have to get you for this." Forth says rubbing his palms on the part where Beam left teethmarks.

"Then get me. I'm yours." Beam says, fluttering his lashes before munching on the pizza they ordered after Beam had released Forth's skin from his bite.

Forth snorts, trying to push away the thought of how Beam looked at him when he said then get me. "Stop being coy with me."

"I'm not being coy with you. I'm just naturally born attractive." He's now munching on his fourth slice, still nonchalantly seducing the person in front of him.

There were times when Beam's confidence would escalate from 0 to 100 in 0.4 seconds. This often caught Forth off guard and knocks him down.

[A/N: this guy gives zero fuck even if the person in front of him had to keep some things in check.]

"But what if they don't like me?" Beam asks for the second time that night.

Earlier, Forth asked him if he wanted to come home with him and meet his family at a family event. Beam had heard about this gathering back at the resort so it didn't surprise him when Forth told him.

Forth suggested the idea that he was going to introduce Beam as his friend for the meantime if Beam was not ready and Beam was relieved that he had come up with that idea because he was so not ready.

"What's not to like?"

"Everything?"

"They will like you. I'm sure of that."

"Really?"

"Uh hmm." Forth nods, way more than necessary making Beam smile with his silliness. "Don't think about it it too much. Okay? Everything is going to be fine. Let's sleep."

"I can't."

"Why?"

"Because I'm worried."

"It's going to be fine. I promise." Forth hugged him tightly as he nuzzled his face closer to Forth warm neck. He was relieved when Beam didn't say more.

Beam can't seem to get the thought out of his head. He was going to meet Forth's family this coming Saturday and they were staying for the night. It was such a relief though that Forth was going to introduce him as a friend but he was promptly horrified when he confessed that his older sister knows.

He had never seen Forth's older sister yet but judging from how he described her earlier he was sure to expect a whole lot of questions which can only add to his anxiety.

It didn't help when Forth assured him that she don't bite, which he was sure that she did - but not literally.

Just hours ago, he was sure that he would be spending the night crying and regretting. But then again Forth proved him wrong and now here they are, lying on the bed facing each other, limbs entangled.

In the few hours that he and Forth had spent sprawled on the bed talking about little things and the things that matter, he felt shallow for a moment that he was so busy being sad that he barely saw who Forth really was aside from the obvious fact that he was ruggedly adorable and insanely handsome and above all of that, Forth loved him, even when he showed him he wasn't very lovable.

He was sure now that he wasn't going to get any sleep. He needed a distraction from over thinking things that hasn't even happened yet and staring at the ceiling wasn't really a form of distraction.

He made a move to turn his back to Forth so he won't disturb him. Forth stirred and planted his face to Beam's back, his arms encircled Beam's waist. Beam reached for his phone on the bedside table and set the screen brightness to its lowest. He didn't actually know what he'd do with the phone  but then again, it was more interesting to scroll through it aimlessly than stare at the ceiling.

He opened his gallery and the pictures taken recently filled his screen. It was from  the beach trip where Wayo snapped pictures while they played volleyball. A wide grin followed soft chuckle making his body vibrate momentarily when he scrolled a picture of Ming layed on the sand being tackled by Phana whilst being grabbed by Forth trying to get Pha away from him. At the background was a clear view of an unhappy Kit and Lam holding his tummy which was hurting from laughing so hard while he, stood there with an amused look on his face.

The next picture was of when they were eating, before the game. They all looked so happy in the picture but before that picture was ever taken, Kit had to bat his best friend Pha because he kept throwing green peas at Ming's side and Ming was doing the same. They were all laughing and giggling as Kit looked murderous glaring at Pha and Ming.

He spent fifteen more minutes of browsing his gallery until he fell asleep.

***************A/N: Sorry for the crappy chapter and not updating fast enough. My phone decided to have a mind of it's own a few weeks ago and then i see a bunch of authors complaining about their works getting unpublished on its own. I waited until wattpad is fine.
