Part 1: Laxus Dreyar

--------------------------

(Y/N)

I let out an uneasy sigh as I walk through the streets of Magnolia. I had just got back from a job that took much longer than expected, the request had said 2 weeks top and I had been away for a month and a half.

"Pesky bastard lying to get more of a chance for wizards to help." I grumbled to myself.

The job was for the requestor's personal selfish reasons too, irking me even more. He just wanted me to get rid of monsters on his property; he even said he didn't care if they relocated to another's he just wanted them gone because they were 'destroying his beautiful land.'

"I hate pompous old rich people." I crossed my arms.

I sighed again, dropping my arms to my sides. At least I was getting back to the guild.

My family. I'm back. I smiled to myself.

I reached the guild entrance. Well, here goes nothing.

I pulled open the large wooden door, it creaking slightly. Of course, nobody noticed. They were too busy fighting and socializing amongst one another (mostly fighting...). Eventually Natsu smelt the air and looked towards the entrance.

Of course he'd be the first to notice with that dragon-slayer nose of his... I chuckled to myself.

Everyone followed suit and looked over at me. "What? Thought you'd seen the last of me? Nah, you guys are stuck with me." I winked with a chuckle.

"(Y/N)!!" My family screamed, running towards me and hugging me as tight as possible.

I laughed with genuine joy this time. "I missed you guys too! Why are you going crazy though? I was just on a job!"

"Yeah, you said 2 weeks. It's been 2 months!" Gray yelled.

I smiled at my guild. "I'm sorry guys, the job took a lot longer then expected."

"(Y/n) fight me!" Natsu yelled, his fists flaming and his typical wide smirk covering his face.

"Natsu, let her rest. She just got back from a mission." Erza scolded. She led me over to a bar stool and she and I talked as Mira served us water.

"Thanks Mira." I gave her a small smile. She gave me a cute smile with a blush.

I missed her smile. I thought to myself.

"What have I missed while I was gone, Erza?" I questioned. (A/N: This story starts after the Lullaby arc but before Galuna Island :D)

Before Erza could reply I noticed a blond girl standing behind her, obviously waiting to speak to me. "Hey, you must be new. I'm (y/n), nice to meet ya!" I grinned, holding out my hand for her to shake.

She grinned brightly and gladly took it. "I'm Lucy! Hey, you were in sorcerer weekly a couple times, right?" Her brown eyes lightened up. I smiled, already liking her.

"Yeah, I didn't really want to be but that Jason guy was incessant on doing a 'badass Fairy Tail chicks' piece so I eventually let him photograph me using my magic and interview me. Of course Mira just used bikini pictures for it." I laughed.

Mira let out a sweet laugh. "It is true though, you are pretty 'badass' (y/n)."

"To be honest, I think we can dub (y/n) as the strongest female Fairy Tail wizard." Erza replied, looking at me proudly.

I smirked, blushing a little.

"Eh?! (Y/n) is stronger than Erza?! But she seems so sweet and not scary!" Lucy went wide-eyed.

"Are you calling me scary?" Erza glared at Lucy.

"N-no no no, not at all!" Lucy backed away, putting her hands up in surrender.

Poor girl. I thought to myself, snickering. Mira laughed along with me. Erza gave Lucy a firm nod and went back to chatting with Mira.

I looked around my guild, joyful over how happy my family was. As I looked around I didn't notice one person...

"Laxus..." I murmured to myself. Even though he was distant and a little bit of a jerk now, I still worried about him.

"What was that, (y/n)?" Mira questioned.

"Eh? Oh, ah- nothing, Mira. Don't worry." I gave her a reassuring smile. She returned it.

Laxus...

I stirred from my dreamless sleep, waking up in an unfamiliar room. I was lying in a wooden bed covered in warm white bedding. A blue curtain hung next to me and machines sat in the corner of the room. I crawled out of the bed, having to slightly jump off the bed onto the cold wooden floor due to my short stature.

I winced in pain slightly as I stood. I looked down at my body, noticing white bandages wrapped around my limbs and my ribs. I looked into the mirror near the bed, noticing another white bandage wrapped around my forehead and sticky bandages on my face as well.

I felt a sharp pain in the side of my ribs. I lifted my shirt and moved the white bandages out of the way, revealing a large purple bruise. I put the bandages back and let go of my shirt, letting it cover me once again.

"What happened...?" I thought to myself out loud.

I walked to the door on the other side of the room and opened the heavy wooden door and walked through. In front of me I saw a large room with multiple wooden tables in it. A bar was opposite of the entrance to the building, with a corkboard full of papers near it. People walked around the room and talked with one another.

"Ah, you're awake." An old man walked up to me with a smile on his face. He was only a bit taller than me but he still seemed awfully strong.

"W-Where am I?" I asked him shyly.

"You're in the Fairy Tail guild! One of our members was out on a mission and he found you, knocked out cold covered in cuts and bruises. He brought you back here so we could take care of you in the infirmary, and here you are! How are you feeling? Oh I almost forgot, my name is Master Makarov!" He grinned wider.

"I feel fine, thank you sir." I murmured, looking timidly at my hands.

Master Makarov was about to reply but a boy who looked my age with spikey blond hair and a red shirt with a lightning bolt walked up to us. "Hey, Grandpa, who's she?" He asked.

"I never asked your name, what is it? And how old are you?" Makarov questioned.

"(Y/n)... I'm seven..." I told him quietly.

"Well (y/n), that's a beautiful name for a beautiful girl." Makarov replied.

I blushed bright pink. "T-Thank you."

"How'd you get here, (y/n)? What happened to ya? You look really beat up." Laxus remarked.

I looked down at my feet bashfully, tears pooling in my eyes as pooled with tears. "Mama...." I whispered to myself. The tears started rolling down my cheeks.

"Laxus! Be sensitive you can't just-" Makarov started scolding the blond boy.

"No, it's okay." I looked up at the boy and grinned, despite the tears rolling down my cheeks.

"You can explain later, (y/n). Gramps, can (y/n) join the guild? I like her!" Laxus asked hopefully.

"Of course, can you use magic, (y/n)?" Makarov asked.

"Yeah! Look at this!" I smiled and held out my hands. A small galaxy appeared in my hands, the stars shining brightly. It quickly poofed away however, as I wasn't strong enough to manifest the power of the galaxy yet.

"Ooooooh." Laxus looked mesmerized at my magic. "C'mon, let's go play with magic! Oh, I'm Laxus by the way!" Laxus grabbed my hand and pulled me out the guild's doors.

Unbeknownst to Laxus and (y/n), Makarov watched the two as Gildarts came up next to him.

"Thank you for helping her. I couldn't just leave an unconscious little girl in the middle of the woods." Gildarts thanked Makarov.

"It's no problem, Gildarts. I'm glad you brought her, Laxus has a friend now."

"They look pretty happy, maybe that'll turn into something when they're older." Gildarts chuckled.

Makarov laughed along, "Maybe..."

"-(y/n), (Y/N)." Erza yelled.

I came back from my little flashback. "Huh?"

"You zoned out." Mira giggled. "Lucy asked you a question."

"Oh, I'm sorry, Lucy. What is it?" I apologized.

Lucy gave me an understanding smile. "What type of magic do you use?"

"I use Cosmic Magic! That means I control the galaxy and its manifestations! It's sort of like a mother magic of Heavenly Body Magic and Territory Magic. Except I can't use Territory that well yet, I can't bend space too well so I'm better at using Heavenly Body Magic and controlling the galaxy." I grinned, my magic swirling around my hands. Stars circled my hands with purple trails.

"Wow, that's beautiful. I'm a Celestial Mage!" Lucy grinned.

"Ah, my mother was a Celestial Mage, that's where my magic came from." A hint of sadness showed on my visage for a moment but it quickly disappeared. "Maybe we can hang out and you can tell me about your spirits and I'll show you my magic?" I proposed.

"Deal!"

"So, (y/n), what were you thinking about when you zoned out?" Mira asked mischievously.

"O-Oh, um, nothing." I blushed lightly and tried to hide it. "Do you know where Laxus is by any chance? He's usually on the second floor but I didn't see him."

"I knew you were thinking about him!"

"S-Shut up! I was just worried because he and the Thunder God Tribe were the only guild members I didn't spot!" I stood, walking away embarrassedly.

"He's on a job with his comrades, (y/n)! He's supposed to return today!" Mira yelled as I walked out of the guild.

I gave her a thumbs-up and left.

As I left I looked down at my feet, stuck in my own little world of memories. Suddenly, I knocked into something hard and would've fallen if a strong hand didn't reach out and grab my arm, saving me. I looked up, shocked at the face I met.

"Laxus..." I murmured, my defenses falling as I saw my childhood friend.

"Clumsy as ever." He growled.

He set me on my feet and walked into the guild with the Thunder God Tribe trailing behind him. Evergreen smiled at me as she passed, a bit apologetically.

I was stuck in place, emotions I've tried so hard to block out of my heart rushing back over me like a tidal wave.

Laxus.
