Part 24 (2)
08:20, 3 January 2021The party had begun maybe 4 hours ago, and the Gryffindor common room was still in utter chaos.
Nearly every person was drunk, and the room was filled to the brim, all the voices and loud music making it difficult to hear one's conversation, but nonetheless, most everyone was grinning from ear to ear.
Don't be mistaken- the party was hardly about happiness. Anyone who walked into the room at that moment could easily tell that every student in it was miserable. Despite the cheerful music, jovial drinking, jumping about, and playful foolishness. It was all a facade. A distraction.
It was really a large group of students frustrated about their exams and fearing for their lives. Only Ginny and Harry had elected to stay sober that night, after their conversation by the lake.
They were sat on a red sofa on the far end of the room, observing the festivities. Harry's arm was slung about Ginny's shoulders, his fingers intertwined with hers, rubbing circles on the back of her hand with his thumb.
Both of them were chuckling at Colin Creevey, who'd just had his first cup of firewhiskey. His eyes were screwed shut and he was fumbling about the room, groping for a support but grabbing random students accidentally.
"Harry? Harry I can't see. I cant- what's happened, Harry? Ginny? Are you there?"
He stumbled off, bumping into Hermione and Ron, who were jumping among a cluster of students in the center of the common room, and screaming the lyrics to Don't Call me a Pixie by the Horntails. Both their smiles were wide and seemingly unchangeable. How lovely that they'd finally gotten their chance to dance together.
Fred and George were already passed out in a heap on the ground, having thrown up a multitude of times throughout the party.
Luna, Seamus, and Lee were huddled in a corner taking turns waving their wands at a goblet. Unfortunately neither I nor anyone else at the party could tell you what they were trying to do.
Blaise Zabini had let go of his ego for the night, and joined the Gryffindors, also in need of an escape. He was leaning against a wall looking poised as usual, with a goblet in his hand. He was drunk as a skunk, but knew how to handle himself. (Note: Blaise Zabini is perfect. Always has been. It makes everyone angry.)
And Harry and Ginny sat on the couch, slipping in and out of the illusion that was happiness as they gazed around at their friends.
Harry glanced over at the redhead next to him, the glow of the nearest torch illuminating her face. Her magical dark eyes were mesmerising. Harry felt himself slowly sinking every time he looked into them.
Ginny noticed him looking and turned. Instead of looking away, he smiled softly. "Hi Ginny." His voice was slow, and deep. His bright green eyes seemed to darken as she looked at them. His lopsided smirk, the way he said her name. He was dreamy. Ginny didn't want to look away. "Hi Harry."
Her voice came out as a whisper. These types of moments came about often; Harry and Ginny just getting lost in each other. They'd made a habit of ignoring them and moving on. And Harry was about to...
But something was different about this time. Ginny was infectious. Like a drug, or a magnet. She pulled Harry in every time he glanced her way but every other time, he was able to resist. Not this time.
This time, Harry took her face in his hands and pulled her close. Ginny inhaled sharply, but Harry stopped. Their lips brushed against each other just barely. A graze, nothing more. Harry was teasing her, and the longer he waited, the more she wanted him.
Harry noticed her quickened heartbeat and heavy breaths. His lip turned up at the corner in a smirk. Ginny could still feel his warm breath on her lips. "What?"
And Ginny closed the distance, their lips crashing together. It started out slow, cautious, but quickly the kiss was hungry and passionate.
Ginny's hands were cupping Harry's face as he trailed his hands down her hips, sending shivers up and down Ginny's body. He wrapped both his arms around her waist and pulled her into him.
They were moving steadily in sync now, as Ginny's arms extended around Harry's neck, both their brains chanting moremoremoremore, closercloserclosercloser.
Ginny's stomach erupted in butterflies as Harry's hand slipped slightly under her shirt, resting on her bare skin.
Slowly, the noise from the party re-entered both their ears. Ginny smiled into the kiss, causing Harry to do the same. She pulled away to take a breath, but Harry didn't let her go far, holding her firmly, their foreheads and noses touching, he grinned and pecked her soft lips once, twice, three times, making Ginny blush.
They were both heaving, still so wrapped up in each other. "Harry." Ginny breathed. But the boy only grinned, that mischievous, handsome little smirk, and pounced on her again.
Once more their lips met and it was firecrackers, just as much as the first time. Ginny had fallen back on the couch and Harry was on top of her, kissing her hungrily. Savoring the way she tasted, her intoxicating smell, feeling her so close to him.
Ginny's hand found Harry's shirt and disappeared underneath it, tracing up and down his chiseled figure, it made Harry's heart race and his breathing got heavy.
Thank Merlin that party was so loud. Thank Merlin everyone was drunk. Thank Merlin the noise masked Ginny's shriek as Harry scooped her up. Thank Merlin the crowd hid them as Harry carried Ginny, bridal style, from the common room, both of them grinning and giggling like maniacs.
damn y'all is it getting hot in here???😳😳
