Post-Sessions [Part 4]

Y/N sighed once more as she stared at the photo of the smiling woman.

"I would have asked" She murmured. "But I didn't want to remember it myself."

She knew what it was like to lose a sibling. Especially one you shared a life with that involved evading hits and screams from a deranged woman. She had come to accept this. But she knew Azalea's murder was much harsher. Much worse. Enough to come after Laura too.

She sighed once more before looking at the shop's door. It was closed.

"I figured you were an important part in my puzzle," she said. "I wish my confirmation wasn't like this."

Even though she knew this looked weird and probably insensitive, she didn't really care. At this point, she wanted to at least take off some blame off the woman's shoulders, even if it was like this.

"Hope you and Azalea meet again" She murmured. "Catch up on the good times, you'll have a long way before you run out"

She bowed fully before stuffing her hands in her pockets. She turned to the side and went on her way, hoping to at least level the field. She needed to get Irene.

——

"And the promise?" Y/N asked over the loud music.

The club was booming with life. Y/N was absolutely lucky when she bumped into her old emails and found Hongjoong's file. The underground scene something she didn't expect to finish at. She could say she was getting a few tokens of help.

"Stay away!" Hongjoong exclaimed.

The rest of the story seemed to be the same. He did ask her to let go of Lily in the end, as it seemed like the relationship was already in shambles by the time San arrived.

"I was supposed to not be related to her in any way" He said. "Or to San"

Y/N nodded, her eyes falling on the forensic doctor who was currently drinking away. Yeah, she also found him down here too.

"Yours is pretty obvious" She said.

"Keep the corpses as unrelated as possible." He said after swallowing his drink.

"As I said" She murmured before clearing her throat. "Do you know anything about Mingi? Irene?"

This was a first. After her interaction at the bakery, she had not heard from them and it left a bad taste in her mouth.

Wooyoung and Hongjoong shared a glance.

"We saw them talking to Yunho" Hongjoong said shrugging. "But he was constantly evading their questions and telling them to leave him alone"

Y/N paused. They knew. Of course, they had an idea of what she was doing.

"Have any of you spoke to San at all after the incident?" She asked.

They shook their heads.

"What do you have on Riley Winters?" Y/N asked directly and Wooyoung paused visibly.

He took a deep breath.

"You can say she is my kill" He said. "She was blackmailing me into getting her my current position"

Y/N was stunned. She really didn't expect his answer, she was just missing a few details from some of the victims.

"He had two language tutors right?" She asked, trying to jump away from Wooyoung's cut-throat answer, which was nonchalant as well.

"Yep" Hongjoong said. "He even took one to bed in exchange for the tutoring"

"One of the twins?" She asked just as Wooyoung nodded.

"Are you guys this dry all the time?" She asked out of the blue.

Hongjoong shrugged. "You wanted the truth"

"Or Yeosang told you" She said, looking at Wooyung.

"It was Seonghwa actually" Wooyoung said. "He came to us and told us about what you were doing"

"Now the question lies." Hongjoong interjected. "Are you really going to see San?"

"That is for me to decide" She answered, shifting in her seat.

"He's not well, but even then, are you sure you are ready for that interaction?" Wooyoung said, leaning forwards.

"I need answers that I won't get through anyone but San" she said. "I genuinely don't know what I even came back to this"

"Mingi called me" Hongjoong said. "A first one in years. He asked for help to find you"

She lifted an eyebrow.

"I know a few not so nice people from down here" He said.

"We understood why you suddenly came off the case. Irene is a bitch" Wooyoung added,

"You interacted with her?" She asked.

"We knew she was going to be bad news. Suddenly my ex is dead after the rumor she slept with her boyfriend runs out. Do you know what we are getting at?" Hongjoong said.

"You think she killed them" She said.

"And San took the blame" Wooyoung said.

"Why did you help him then?" She asked. "Make a promise?"

"Irene came to our dorm looking like Carrie after prom, we didn't know what happened until San came in and suddenly, they were fighting" Hongjoong said. "Their bickering suddenly escalated to Seonghwa throwing a beer bottle at the wall, and then we were all making a promise."

"Yes and No" Wooyoung said. "He asked for our help and we didn't refuse. Especially not after him helping us come clean off our own troubles"

"How so?"

"He helped us get out of blackmail or even worked on our behalf." Hongjoong said. "He is a good kid"

"What you mean to tell me" she said. "Is his sentence is second degree?"

"Pretty much" Wooyoung said. "At least, on Irene"

"I see" Y/N breathed out, her eyes getting lost in the crowd. Something about this place felt familiar and she hated that. She hated how much her brother had resurfaced from the dead.

—–

Y/N took a few quick steps around her new room. Papers laid all over the floor. The sound of ripping becoming a lost beat as she looked over everything she had.

From day one to now.

She really wanted to write it out and see if it worked. She paused, maybe she could.

Y/N grabbed everything and set it aside, clearing the floor for a moment. She pulled out a marker and a large sticky note.

"College" She murmured as the marker did a weird squeak as she wrote.

She pasted the thing on the floor before slipping down and pasting another one.

"Murder Timeline" She mumbled. "Effects"

She looked to the side and sighed.

From college forwards, the only clear things were Lily, Irene and all of them coming together. The murder timeline was a blur, but she knew Lily began the line, followed by a neighbor, a classmate and a rumored friend with benefits. Then the twins. The tutor, two blind dates, Riley Winters, Samantha Lee, Azalea and Kang's sister. It matched with the date of disappearance? Seemed so. After all, the boys did say they had a few hands in there.

She stared at the photos for a second. None shared any physical traits, nor were they related, they were not even acquaintances.

"Not much of a normal profile" She breathed before pulling out a file.

She paused. Did she want to pull out the photo? She cursed as she placed the entire thing on the floor, grabbing her marker and writing down the victim's name.

She put it in the order they were found in. She stood up once she was done.

The boys made it clear they had nothing to do with the discovery. Which means that's San's own doing. Or maybe Irene got in there too?

Y/N squinted her eyes.

Something was not right. There was a missing piece.

She sighed, her eyes landing on her jacket. Her feet took her towards in quickly, just as she pulled out the key Seonghwa gave her.

I guess I'm back.
