PART 10

Yibo and Gu Wei felt awkward. "I'm going home" said Gu Wei, and although Yibo didn't want to agree since Gu Wei had been drinking, Gu Wei insisted on going home alone. "Do you want me to take you home?" Yibo asked.

"I can manage on my own" said Gu Wei, taking his belongings and not waiting for Yibo to say anything more. After Gu Wei left, Yibo touched his lips. He was certain that Zhan and Gu Wei were the same person. He took out his phone and made a call.

While waiting for an answer, he stood on the balcony, looking out where Gu Wei was. Before getting into the car, Gu Wei glanced back at where Yibo was standing, just as the person Yibo called answered.

"Hello, can you do me a favor? I need a DNA test. I'll give you the sample and I also want you to check the background of this person."

"I don't know if I can do it now because we're busy with an investigation, but I can probably get it done and update you."

"Alright, thanks, bro." After hanging up, Yibo put away the wine glass Gu Wei had used and cleaned up their drinking area.

The next morning, while lying in bed, Gu Wei suddenly remembered.

Flashback.

While Zhan was at home taking care of their dumpling, Yibo was busy running his company. After graduating from college, he immediately focused on the company for their future.

"Baby, do you miss Daddy?" Zhan asked the sleeping baby. "Because Dada misses him too" he continued. Shortly after, he received a photo that nearly made him faint. He gripped his phone tightly. "This isn't him. Yibo wouldn't lie to me; he loves me" Zhan whispered while holding his phone tightly.

End of Flashback.

Gu Wei suddenly sat up. "How did it come to this?" he murmured, but before he could drown in his thoughts, his phone rang. "Gu Wei, look at the clip I sent you." Gu Wei immediately hung up and opened the video.

"Mom, why are you hurting me? Mom, I didn't do anything wrong. Mom, I have to go to school. Mom, please stop, I beg you. Mom, what did I do wrong?" A-yuan pleaded as Liying beat him. In his anger, Gu Wei didn't finish the video and threw his phone.

Gu Wei trembled as he repeatedly heard A-yuan's pleading voice in his mind.

Elsewhere. "Do you think it was right to send him the video?" asked Jiyang. "Yes, we should have done it last night, but knowing he wouldn't sleep, we waited until morning" Haoxuan replied.

On the other hand, Yibo decided to go home. As soon as he entered their house, Liying greeted him. "Yibo, where have you been? I haven't been able to contact you for days" Liying asked, about to get angry but stopped when she noticed Yibo's calm demeanor. She remembered what she heard on the phone about Yibo planning to divorce her, and she suddenly felt afraid that if she got angry, Yibo might immediately ask for a divorce.
