Chapter 31

  I whimpered as a silent beg for him to escape with me back into the safety of the castle. 'Wait until the time is right.' I heard his authoritative voice say in my mind. I sat down and let out a low challenging growl showing him that I wasn't going to give up. 'No.' I heard his Alpha tone speak in my mind and I couldn't control my wolf from laying down. I let out a frustrated humph and watched him stare at me. 'I love you.' I nearly melted at the meaningful words but as soon as he said that, the fight began.

  Warrior wolves had surrounding us in a circle and I was stuck in the center of that circle with the knights and Louis around me. Rogues surrounded us from all around, the ones that were still alive at least. I didn't know what I did when I licked Louis and Liam's wounds, but my wolf had an urge to lick it clean and it healed. I have so many questions for Louis when this all settles down. I wish I would have never come out here because now I'm stuck and can't get away to the safety of the castle.

  A rogue broke through the warriors and was now staring me down with an evil glare. I stood up on all fours in a challenging stance and glared back. He looked slightly confused and taken back at me for standing my ground, but he continued to glare. He released a menacing growl and took a step forward. Louis jumped in front of me and growled loudly in warning. My eyes widened as the rogue jumped on top of Louis with sudden force.

  I was about to intervene when Louis slammed the rogues body on the ground and bit down hard on his neck. I forced myself to look away and I could hear his bones cracking as he changed back into a human. I heard a whimper causing my head to shoot up to Louis. He watched me with worried, golden eyes staring deep into my soul. I nodded in assurance and almost forgot about the privilege of talking  to him through my mind. 'I'm okay.' 'You sure?'  I nodded my head. 

  Something moved out of the corner of my eye and caught my attention. I jumped to my left and got into a fighting stance. I wasn't about to just let all these men around here fight and not participate any at all. Especially when I am a wolf. I growled loudly at the rogue as the extremely small creature got into a fighting stance and I knew I had it.

  'Don't, Amelia.' I ignored Louis and pounced on the small rogue. It slashed my shoulder causing my silky white fur to turn red and a whimper to escape my snout. I slashed at it and caught its snout with my long claws. 'Amelia!' I stood over top of the rogue when Louis shouted my name in Alpha tone causing me to unwillingly look up. I could feel the rogue trying to move underneath me but it wasn't going anywhere.

  Louis' big, blackish gray wolf ran towards me and gently pushed me aside. I growled lowly in pain when he bumped my shoulder but he was biting down on the rogues neck. My left leg rose up slightly to keep pressure off of my hurt shoulder as I waited for Louis to get off the rogue. His attention directed towards me and my bloody shoulder. He grumbled quietly and walked over to me quickly. I whimpered in pain and looked him straight in the eyes. 'What did I tell you?' I grumbled angrily under my breath at him to show that I didn't appreciate his words. 

  I felt a sharp pain shoot through my left shoulder causing me to collapse to the ground. My whimpers turned into whines and slowly turned into soft painful howls. 'You're healing yourself.' Louis had his front paws in front of my back and his back paws in front of my stomach as he stood over me in a protective position. His eyes were darting around at all the action around us before they glanced down at me quickly with concern. 'It hurts.' I whined to Louis in my head. 'I know, baby. It's going to be okay. I'm right here. It should go away soon.' He looked down at me briefly once more with pain dancing in his golden eyes before looking out for any more attacks. Liam, Zayn, Niall, and Harry were fighting rogues along with all the warrior wolves. The pain slowly died down and I turned my head as much as I could to see that the wound was gone but blood still covered my pretty white fur. 

  I nudged Louis in the stomach and he shot his head towards mine before slowly climbing off me and allowing me to stand. 'Be careful.' I eased myself into a standing position and stood directly in front of Louis. His wolf was larger than mine, but I didn't care. I rubbed my snout with his in thanks. 

  'Can we please go back to the castle?' I slowly pulled away to look him in the eyes. He looked around before looking back at me. He dazed out for a little bit and I saw four large wolves come towards us. I recognized them as the knights and sat down with ease. Harry looked at me worriedly when he caught sight of my bloody shoulder. I shook my head at him and he met my eyes.

  'We are going to make a run for it ok? The warrior wolves are fighting and we will run in a circle.' 'Okay.' Louis licked the top of my head as an attempt to kiss me but made me pull away. 'Ew.' I heard him laughing in my head so I let out a low growl in teasing. We formed the circle and began to run towards the double doors.
