Chapter Eleven

__

"Really?!" Winny's voice echoed through Gemini's room, bursting with excitement. After Gemini's heartfelt confession about finally telling Fourth how he felt, Winny could hardly contain his enthusiasm. "Finally, you said it!" he exclaimed, his face lighting up with joy.

"So what's the progress? Are you two a thing now?" Winny leaned forward, his curiosity piqued, almost bouncing in his seat.

"No, he wants us to take it slow," Gemini replied, his voice a mix of happiness and concern. "I think it's because things just started going well between us, and he wants to make sure we're ready for something more serious."

"Well, you better not mess it up now, dude. I don't know what I'll do to you if you do!" Winny joked, wrapping an arm around Gemini's shoulders in a warm hug. The camaraderie wrapped around them like a comforting blanket. "I'm just so happy for you!"

Meanwhile, in Ford's apartment, Fourth sat on the edge of his seat, flanked by his friends Satang and Ford. The atmosphere was thick with anticipation; the air felt electric as Fourth had announced he had something important to share. His friends, visibly anxious, leaned in closer, hanging on his every word.

"Just tell us already!" Satang urged, a hint of exasperation in his voice. Fourth had been unusually quiet since his relationship with Gemini had shifted, and his friends were both puzzled and concerned.

"Give me a minute!" Fourth closed his eyes, taking a deep breath to gather his thoughts and steady his racing heart. After what felt like an eternity, he finally spoke, "So, I was gonna say that Gemini..."

"What about Gemini?" Satang prompted, his eyes wide with anticipation.

"Gemini confessed to me that he likes me..." Fourth finally let the words tumble out, his heart pounding in his chest.

"Finally?!" Ford exclaimed, a wide grin spreading across his face, as if he had just won a grand prize.

"Wow, after all those plans..." Satang murmured, though his voice was loud enough for Fourth to hear.

"What do you mean?" Fourth asked, confusion knitting his brows together.

"Well, Gemini isn't exactly subtle about his feelings. He's never acted like that with anyone else," Satang explained, raising an eyebrow knowingly.

"I agree," Ford added, a teasing lilt in his voice. "We're all close, but you and Gemini have a vibe that's different. We honestly thought you two were dating already." Fourth's mind raced as he processed their words. "I never noticed it before," he admitted, a hint of embarrassment creeping into his cheeks.

"Of course you didn't," Ford chuckled, giving Fourth a playful nudge. "So, are you two dating now?" Satang inquired, hope shining in his eyes.

"Well, no. Not yet..." Fourth replied, hesitating as he searched for the right words.

"What? Why? Don't you like him?" Ford pressed, genuinely puzzled by the hesitation.

"I do! I really do. But I want to get to know him more before jumping into anything serious. We agreed to take it slow," Fourth explained, his heart swelling with a mixture of affection and uncertainty. The thought of being with Gemini excited him, but he also wanted to ensure that their foundation was strong.

"If that's the case, then we're really happy for you," Ford said, enveloping Fourth in a warm, reassuring hug.

"Just remember, if he hurts you, you know who's gonna deal with him, right?" Satang added with a playful smirk, making Fourth chuckle despite the nervous flutter in his stomach.

Days turned into weeks, and Gemini poured his heart into sweet gestures that showcased his affection for Fourth. Each day, he found new ways to brighten Fourth's world, proving to be the perfect green flag in their blossoming relationship.

One sunny afternoon, as Fourth was buried in textbooks, grappling with a particularly challenging subject, Gemini surprised him with a bouquet of vibrant wildflowers. "I thought these might cheer you up," he said, his smile so infectious that Fourth felt his worries lift momentarily. As he accepted the flowers, Fourth's heart fluttered, the weight of the day momentarily forgotten.

"These are beautiful, Gemini. Thank you," Fourth said, feeling warmth spread through him. The way Gemini looked at him, with such sincerity and affection, made his heart race.

"Just wait until you see what else I have planned for today!" Gemini teased, taking Fourth's hand and leading him out of the apartment. The touch sent sparks through Fourth, making him feel alive in a way he hadn't in a long time.

They ended up at a quaint cafรฉ, where the rich aroma of coffee and freshly baked pastries enveloped them like a warm hug. As they sipped their drinks, Gemini listened intently, encouraging Fourth to share his thoughts about their studies. When Fourth expressed frustration over an assignment, Gemini would lean closer, offering words of encouragement and a gentle squeeze of his hand.

"Hey, you're one of the smartest people I know. You've got this," Gemini said, his sincerity shining through like the afternoon sun, and Fourth felt the weight of his worries lighten.

After finishing their drinks, Gemini suggested they take a walk along the nearby riverbank. The sun was beginning to set, casting a golden glow over everything. As they strolled side by side, the conversation flowed effortlessly, ranging from their classes to their dreams for the future. Fourth felt a sense of comfort and ease around Gemini, as if they had known each other forever.

One evening, they embarked on a spontaneous adventure to the local park. With a picnic basket filled to the brim with sandwiches, fresh fruit, and sweet treats, they found a quiet spot under a sprawling oak tree. As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in breathtaking hues of orange and pink, they shared stories and laughter. Every shared glance deepened their connection, and the atmosphere crackled with unspoken feelings.

"Thank you for always making time for me, even with our busy schedules," Fourth said, his voice soft yet sincere as they lay back, watching the stars begin to twinkle above them.

"Of course! You're worth every moment," Gemini replied, his gaze unwavering and filled with affection. Fourth could feel the sincerity in his words, a warmth spreading in his chest.

As the weeks passed, Fourth found himself in deep thought, contemplating the possibility of asking Gemini to officially be his boyfriend. Their relationship had grown exponentially, and he couldn't help but marvel at the layers of kindness and love Gemini had shown him, revealing a side he never knew existed. Fourth felt a flutter of hope each time he thought about Gemini, imagining what a committed relationship might look like.

With a mixture of excitement and apprehension, Fourth decided to open up to Ford and Satang during one of their study sessions. "I've been thinking... what if I ask Gemini to be my boyfriend already?" he said, a hint of nervousness creeping into his tone.

Ford and Satang burst into laughter, the kind that felt warm and supportive. "We didn't know you'd be so head over heels for someone who used to be your bully!" Ford teased, winking at him.

"But to my defense," Fourth interjected, a smile creeping onto his face, "I had no idea Gemini could be this kind and lovable. He's really changed."

"Okay, let us help you with that," Ford said, his eyes gleaming with mischief. "But let's wait for the semester break first; it's too hectic right now," Satang added, cutting through his study materials with determination.

"I agree." Ford chuckled, and the three of them settled back into their project for finals, the air around them buzzing with a mix of camaraderie and excitement for what the future might hold for Fourth and Gemini.

As the semester drew to a close, Fourth found himself caught in a whirlwind of emotions. Every glance from Gemini made his heart skip a beat, and every touch sent butterflies dancing in his stomach. He realized he had never felt this way about anyone before, and it terrified and thrilled him in equal measure.
