chapter fourteen—✧♡︎✧—

Felix was so not going to admit it, but he'd never felt more comfortable than he did right now—curled up in Hyunjin's bed, with Hyunjin's blanket wrapped snugly around him like a burrito.

"You know," Felix murmured, resting his head on Hyunjin's pillow, "I think I could get used to this."

Hyunjin, who had been scrolling through his phone, side-eyed Felix. "What, cuddling with me?"

Felix grinned, the tip of his nose poking out from under the blanket. "If I'm being honest? Yeah. You're like a human heating pad."

Hyunjin rolled his eyes, playfully smacking Felix's side. "I'm not that soft."

"Uh, yeah, you are," Felix said, rubbing his cheek against Hyunjin's pillow like a content cat. "Like, I could seriously take a nap here and never leave. This is like the best pillow ever."

"That's my head," Hyunjin muttered, still not looking away from his screen. "You're laying on my head."

Felix turned his head, blinking up at him with wide eyes. "Well, maybe that's why it's so comfy—your head's like, all soft and squishy."

"What?!" Hyunjin snapped, finally looking up, eyes wide in mock offense. "Are you calling me dumb now?"

Felix cracked up, rolling over onto his back and stretching out with a dramatic sigh. "If the shoe fits, my dude."

"Shut up," Hyunjin said, though he was fighting back a smile. "I'm clearly way smarter than you."

"Sure, Hyunjin. Sure," Felix replied lazily, tossing his arms out in surrender. "You know what? You are smarter. You're a genius, actually. A flawless genius."

"That's what I thought," Hyunjin said smugly, his grin almost too wide for his face. He was still typing, though, clearly trying to pretend he wasn't as smug as he was acting.

Felix rolled his eyes, leaning over and snatching Hyunjin's phone from his hands. "Don't even act like you're not the biggest dork I know."

"I'm not a dork," Hyunjin protested, trying to grab the phone back. "I'm—give it back!"

"Nah," Felix said with a grin, holding it out of Hyunjin's reach. "You've been on Instagram for an hour now. You've liked the same post five times. Are you trying to stalk someone?"

"I wasn't stalking," Hyunjin snapped, now genuinely annoyed as he stretched his arm out to grab his phone back. "I just... okay, maybe I liked it again. What's your point?"

Felix paused for a moment, glancing at the phone in his hands, his teasing grin faltering a little. "Wait... you liked my post again?"

Hyunjin immediately froze, eyes wide with panic. "N-No—! I mean, yeah, but—wait, you're looking at my feed? What the hell?"

Felix's lips quirked up into a mischievous smile. "Oh, I'm just wondering why you like my photos so much. Trying to give me more followers?"

"I didn't do it on purpose," Hyunjin mumbled, now slightly embarrassed , or maybe more than slightly, actually the biggest level embarrassed. "It was an accident, okay?"

Felix snorted, throwing the phone onto Hyunjin's bed and rolling back onto his side. "Sure, sure, whatever you say."

"I really didn't mean to," Hyunjin muttered again, sounding oddly guilty. "I just... your photos pop up, and I get distracted."

Felix raised an eyebrow, glancing over at him. "Distracted by my face?"

"I mean, you are kinda-" Hyunjin began, clearly flustered, his cheeks turning a little pink. "I don't know. You're just... you're pretty."

Felix's eyes softened, and he couldn't help but smile at Hyunjin's awkwardness. "I'm pretty, huh?"

"Well," Hyunjin added, his voice growing quieter, "Maybe."

Felix blinked, leaning over and playfully punching Hyunjin's shoulder. "Wait, hold up, did you just admit you think I'm pretty?"

Hyunjin groaned, burying his face in the pillow. "This is a disaster."

Felix just chuckled, giving Hyunjin a soft shove. "I'm kidding, Hyunjin. Relax."

There was a long pause, and for a moment, they both just laid there—comfortable in each other's presence. Felix could hear the soft sounds of Hyunjin's breathing, steady and calm.

Felix couldn't stop the warmth from spreading through him. It was moments like these that made him feel like he didn't have a care in the world.

"Hey, Jinnie ?" Felix whispered, his voice soft.

Hyunjin hummed, not looking up. "Hm?"

"I'm glad we're friends," Felix said, the words slipping out before he could even think about them.

Hyunjin turned his head to look at him, a gentle smile tugging at the corner of his lips. "Me too," he replied quietly, voice full of sincerity. "I'm really glad."

Felix smiled back, feeling his heart skip a beat.

Now Felix for sure was not done being a cuddle bug.

"You know," he said with a mischievous glint in his eye, "I've been thinking... I'm gonna be a koala for the rest of the day."

Hyunjin raised an eyebrow, clearly not sure what Felix meant. "A... koala?"

"Yep," Felix said, his eyes lighting up with excitement as he crawled toward Hyunjin which was standing infront of the bed, about to plop down, but Felix was faster. "You know, those cute little creatures that just cling to you for dear life? Yeah. That's me now."

"Oh god, really?" Hyunjin snickered, realizing what Felix was about to do. "You're gonna cling to me like a koala?"

Felix didn't even respond verbally. Instead, he launched himself onto Hyunjin, wrapping his arms and legs around his lean waist like a literal koala.

"F-Felix, what the—?" Hyunjin gasped, stumbling back as Felix giggled and clung tighter. "What is this?"

"I'm a koala," Felix said matter-of-factly, snuggling his face into Hyunjin's shoulder and making a soft, satisfied noise.

"You're insane," Hyunjin laughed, but he couldn't help the way his arms instinctively went around Felix's waist to hold him up. "How am I supposed to do anything with you on me like this?"

Felix grinned up at him, his legs still wrapped around Hyunjin's waist. "You don't need to do anything, Jinnie. I'm just gonna stay here forever." He nuzzled into his shoulder, breathing in the familiar scent of Hyunjin's cherry shampoo. "This is the best place to be."

Hyunjin, who was now completely trapped under Felix's hold, sighed with exaggerated drama. "You really are impossible, you know that?"

Felix only squeezed tighter, completely unbothered. "Yep. Admit it. I'm the most adorable koala you've ever had."

"You are pretty cute," Hyunjin muttered, rolling his eyes but not pushing Felix off. In fact, he found himself actually enjoying the closeness. "I swear, you're lucky I like you."

Felix just hummed, satisfied with Hyunjin's response. "I know you do," he said, his voice a little softer now. "Now, just let me cuddle you. I'm too comfy to let go."

Hyunjin chuckled, sitting down on the edge of his bed with Felix still latched onto him like a koala. "This is ridiculous," he said, but his arms instinctively wrapped around Felix's back, holding him securely. "You're lucky I'm a nice guy."

"I know," Felix whispered, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips. "And I'm a very lucky guy."

For a few moments, there was nothing but the sound of their breathing and the occasional laugh from Felix, who was obviously enjoying his role as Hyunjin's personal koala. Hyunjin couldn't help but feel this warm, content feeling as he held Felix close. It felt... right, even though they were both still pretending this was just a joke.

Felix was so tiny in his arms, and the way he felt so at ease, like he belonged there—Hyunjin couldn't ignore it. Felix was a lot more than just the clingy friend. Felix was... everything to him, whether he was ready to admit it or not.

"I could stay like this forever," Felix said, his voice muffled against Hyunjin's shoulder. "You're so comfy."

Hyunjin chuckled, his fingers lightly brushing the back of Felix's head. "You're unbelievable," he muttered, though the smile on his face was softer than Felix would've expected. "You're lucky I don't mind you practically crawling all over me like this."

Felix gave a satisfied sigh, his fingers lightly running along the fabric of Hyunjin's shirt. "I love when you say that. You don't mind because you love me, right?"

Hyunjin's heart skipped a beat, and for a split second, his thoughts stumbled. But instead of saying anything that might give away too much, he just chuckled. "I'm starting to think I'm just stuck with you, huh?"

"Yeah, totally," Felix replied nonchalantly, his head tilting up to give Hyunjin a cheeky smile. "Stuck with me forever."

"Uh-huh, sure," Hyunjin said, unable to fight the smile that crept onto his face. "But I'm not complaining. You're not that bad."

Felix snorted, grinning like a fool. "I know I'm not. Now, let's just enjoy the moment. I'll be your koala until you kick me off."

"I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon," Hyunjin said softly, his hands still gently holding Felix against him. "I don't think I want it to."

Felix's smile softened into something a little more tender as he looked up at Hyunjin, his heart fluttering. "Good," he whispered, his voice barely above a breath. "Because I like being your koala. I like being close to you."

Hyunjin's breath caught in his throat, but instead of responding, he just held Felix tighter, savoring the moment. He wasn't ready to speak his mind just yet—his feelings were still tangled up in a mess of confusion and uncertainty. But for now, he was happy just to be with Felix.

"You know," Felix murmured, breaking the silence with a soft, teasing tone, "I think I could be your koala every day if you'll let me."

"You'd better stop before I start getting used to it," Hyunjin said, his voice light but warm, as he pressed a kiss to the top of Felix's head, his heart swelling in a way he didn't quite understand. "Because I think I might just start liking this."

Felix smiled even brighter. "Then let's stay like this forever, okay?"

Hyunjin didn't answer right away, but the smile on his face said everything Felix needed to know.
