Chapter 10

AILINN

It's my first official day here in Puerto Rico. I missed the smell of waking up to my moms food. I missed home cook meals all I eat at Harvard is school food or restaurant food. I got up from my bed and walked into the bathroom to shower. I took a quick shower and quickly dried off. I changed into a cute simple outfit. I posted a picture of my fashion Instagram that I started on my first week of Harvard to distract myself from what happened with Jefnier.

I walked down the stair and into the kitchen where my mom was finishing up her cooking. She saw me walking and she smiled.

"Goodmorning honey" she said and I smiled and returned the Goodmorning. "Just do you know I invited Jefnier and his mom over for breakfast this morning so they should be here any moment" she told me and I nodded. Great although i love mrs.Moreno I wanted this breakfast just to be my mom and I because I missed her.

Just as I was about to say something somebody was knocking on our front door. Which is of course most likely Jefnier and his mom. I turned to my mom to tell her if she can get it but she gave me a look.

"Fine" I said and she grinned. I walked over to our front door and opened it. There they were Jefnier and his mom standing there.

"Ailinn I missed you" Mrs.Moreno said and she pulled me in into a very tight hug. We pulled apart and I gave her a big smile.

"I missed you too" I told her and I turned to Jefnier and I gave him a slight hug and said hi to him.

"So how is Harvard" she asked me as we walked into the house. Jefnier and I haven't even had a time to properly interact which I wanna avoid a bit.

"It's great, I really do love it there"I told her and she smiled and then turned to my mom. I turned to Jefnier and he was just standing there awkwardly.

"So" I said and he looked me weirdly.

"Soooo" he said and we looked at each other and let out a laugh.

"Can you two set the table please" my mom said to us and we nodded. We started setting the table.

"I really want to thank you for doing this again" I said to him and he smiled.

"For helping you set the table you are very welcome" he said and I rolled my eyes playfully .

"No idiot for giving me the opportunity to coming to see my mom" I told him and he let out a light laugh and nodded.

"It really wasn't a problem she missed you and I know you missed it here and well I missed you"he said but he said the last part quietly but I ignored it. We finished setting up the table and I sat down and he sat down next to me because my mom and his mom took the other seats.

"So what are you guys doing today"my mom asked me and I looked at her a bit confused because she was looking at both me and Jefnier.

"I thought we were doing something today" I told her and she looked at me with a small smile.

"Well I won't be able today honey I have work later" she told me with an upset look on her face. I frowned a little and covered it with a smile quickly.

"Jefnier you should take her to the bbq we are having later at the house" jefniers mom suggested and he turned me.

"Would you like to come" he asked me and I nodded.

"Yeah I would love to" I told him and it felt a little weird because it almost felt awkward. We finished up breakfast and I got up from my chair.

"I'm going to head out to go do some things" I told them and my mom raised an eyebrow at me. I almost instantly knew what she was going to say.

"Jefnier you should go with her. I don't want her to go out alone" she said and I almost rolled my eyes. I have a feeling I am not going to have any alone time the next couple of day's. Jefnier nodded and got up from his chair as well and began to follow me.

"I'm going up to my room first to do something's you can come up if you want" I told him nicely and he nodded.

"I'll take you up on that because I do not want them to tell me anything while I'm down here alone" he said and I let out a chuckle and we walked up the stairs and into my room. "It's been a while since I was last up here" he said with a slight frown on his face you can tell he was trying to hide it.

"You are still giving me that second chance right"he asked me concerned and I turned him and smiled.

"Yes why" I asked.

"Because today we are going to spend the whole day together" he said with a grin and I was a bit nervous. "So Ailinn will you go on a date with me" he asked me and I nodded.

"Yes I will jef" I told him and he cheered.

"I'm going to make this the best date you have ever been on"he said and he got me up from the chair by hands. We walked down the stairs and out the house.

"So where are we going" I asked as we got into his car and he began to drive away.

"First we are going to get some ice cream from your favorite ice cream shop" he said and I internally cheered because that was somewhere I wanted to go to before I left again for school.

After about a 15 minute drive we got to the ice cream parlor that was right in front of the beach. The same beach where I officially had ended it with Jefnier. But I pushed that thought out of my head and turned away. Jefnier parked the car and we both got out of it.

"It's been so long" I said as I walked in to the ice cream shop. The same sweet smell that brought back memories from my childhood.

"I haven't been here since the last time we came together" Jefnier said and I tried not to frown which I think I succeed it in.

"What can I get for you two" the owner asked us. He was a man in his 60's. His name was Miguel and he has been working here since before we were born.

"I'll have a cookies and cream cone and a strawberry ice cream cone" Jefnier said and I smiled he still remembers that cookies and cream is my all time favorite ice cream.

"It's been a long time since you two came" Miguel said as he scooped out ice cream.

"I've been in school in the states and haven't got the chance to come back here until this week" I told him as he handed me my cone and then he handed Jefnier his.

"Ah yes I did here from your mom congratulations to getting in to Harvard"he said with a big smile and I thanked him. " I would love to talk to you guys more but I have a customers coming in" he said and we tried to pay him but he instead it was on the house. We sat down at the table by the window that gives an amazing view of the beach.

" I wanted us to go to the beach but I completely forgot to tell you to get a bathing suit" he said and I let out a light laugh. "But I have another place we can go to before the barbecue" he said and I raised my eyebrow at him. We finished up our ice creams and left the parlor and he began to drive somewhere else. I almost instantly knew where he was taking us. He pulled up to our childhood park that we use to come to.

"Let's play some soccer"he said and he passed me a soccer ball.

"It's been the longest since I last played" I said with the biggest smile and we walked in the glass. I'm actually really freaking excited. I passed the ball to him and we began kicking it around.

"Hey that was a goal"I argued I scored a goal at him which was the winning one but he keeps on denying it.

"No it wasn't it didn't passed the line" he argued back. He was being a sore of loser and it was annoying but funny at the same time.

"What time is it" I asked him and he told me it was four in the afternoon..

"Fuck the barbecue"he said and my eyes went wide. I looked at my clothes which were completely dirty.

"I can't go like this" I whined as we got in the car.

"I have some of your clothes in my room you can change in" he said and I raised an eyebrow at him. He kept my clothes well that's a bit weird. "I forgot to drop them off at your moms house" he said blushing a little and I smiled. Although it's a bit weird to keep your ex girlfriends clothes I found it a bit cute. We got in his car and he began to drive to his parents house I'm guessing.

"Where is the barbecue at" I asked him.

"My parents house"he said and i nodded. I guessed right I guess. While I was looking at the window I felt a hand on mine. I looked at our hands and smiled.

"Sorry"he said and was about to remove his hand.

"It's fine I don't mind it" I told him and he began to grin. I missed this I missed the the feeling of his hands on mine when he would drive me places. We pulled up to his parents house and saw that there was a bunch of cars there.

"How many people are here" I said with wide eyes. I honestly thought it would be a small just family thing.

"It's a get together my mom insisted on Inviting people since we are celebrating my new albums release that is happening in a couple of days" he said and I nodded.

"I didn't know about that congrats" I told him and he gave me a big smile. We got out of the car and walked in to his house the good thing is that everyone was outside in the back so no one noticed we were here. We ran up to his old room and he opened the door and it looked exactly the same.

"Here are your close"he said pointing to a box and I thanked him. I walked towards it and opened it. This was clothes from when I was younger. I looked through it and I found a cute sun dress that is probably not going to fit me as good as it use to.

"Where can I change" I asked him and I turned around and there he was shirtless.

"You can change in the bathroom" he said and I nodded. I walked out of the room and into the bathroom that was down the hall which was gracefully empty. I quickly changed into the dress and tried to fix my hair and makeup a little so I can look presentable. I walked back out the bathroom and there I saw Jefnier standing outside of his room waiting for me.

"You look gorgeous" he said and I blushed as I walked towards him.

"Thank you and you cleaned up well" I told him and he grabbed my hand and we walked down the stairs.

"I haven't seen anybody in months hopefully it's not weird or anything" I said nervously

" trust me it won't be weird everybody mimissed you lot" he said reassuring me.

After a very nice afternoon at the barbecue. Jefnier was finally taking me home. Everybody was still at the barbecue but I wanted to spend as much time as I can with my mom because I will be leaving in a couple of days. It was really fun at the barbecue it made me realize how much I missed everyone.

"Thank you for today it was amazing" I told Jefnier as he parked in front of my house. He gave a gorgeous smile.

"I'm glad you liked our date and thank you for giving me a second chance" he said and I smiled. I definitely don't regret it and I honestly thought I would. We both got out of the car because he insisted on walking me to the door because it was the 'gentleman' thing to do. We got to the front door and I looked at him.

"So will you let me take you out on a second date sometime soon" he asked me a bit shyly and I blushed and nodded.

" of course I would love to" I told him and he broke out in a grin. He pulled me in for a hug and lifted me up. We looked into each other's eyes and we began to lean in. He looked in my eyes asking for permission and I nodded. He kissed me and it felt amazing I realized how much I missed him and how much I feel a bit weird for saying this but how much I need him.
