Chapter 1

AILINN

It has been six months since I've last talked to Jefnier. I still talk to Myke but after a couple months of being away from PR we slowly stopped talking as much. I am currently 4 months in to my freshmen year in Harvard and it has been pretty amazing. But something is missing and I know that it's him.

He tried to talk to me after I officially ended things with him. But I just ignored him because just the thought of him would make my heart hurt. Now I'm much better but I still don't like talking about him. As much as I would of loved for our relationship to work our I know that it would just end in more heartbreak and I was not emotionally prepared for that. I don't think I was emotionally prepared for a relationship in the first place.

"Ailinn get up we have class in an hour" I heard my roommate say. Her name is Stephanie she is also a premed major here in Harvard. Shes actually from Nebraska so she's come a long way too.

"Okay" I mumbled and I slowly got up from my bed. It was Monday morning and I was a bit hungover from yesterday. I grabbed my shower things and left the room to go to the shower room. Which was just down the hall from our dorm. I walked into the shower room and took a quick 15 minute shower because if I would of taken a longer one I would be late to class and that would not be good. I dried myself and brushed my hair and did my other things. I walked back into the room and saw that Stephanie was waiting for me. We both had the same class and same schedule we had chemistry in about 40 minutes. I quickly changed into some jeans and a shirt and grabbed my backpack.

"Ready"Stephanie asked me and I nodded.

"Yeah let's go"I said to her and we walked out of our dorm room.

"I honestly don't know how we make it to class on time" she said as we walked towards the science building,

"Same here but even if we were late our professor don't even care as long as we don't make noise when we go inside or interrupt his lecture" I told her as we walked in to our class room. Since it's Monday only half of the class is here and it starts in 10 minutes they are probably going to begin to pour in any second now. We sat down in our usual seats and I received a message from myke. The first one in the past couple weeks since he's been really busy and so have I.

Myke: I know you are probably in class right now but Jefnier found that you don't like in PR anymore and he's heartbroken because he went looking for you

Me:Fuck

Myke:he's more determined than ever to find you.

Fuck I don't know how to answer to that text. Like what can I tell him. Throughout class I was extremely distracted and didn't pay attention to lecture at all even though I tried to. I'll just ask Stephanie for her notes later.

"Hey you good" I heard Stephanie say as she tapped my shoulder. I turned to her and nodded and gave her a weak smile.

"I'm alright I'll just tell you when we get back to our dorm" I told her and she nodded. We walked out of class and I felt someone grab my waist. I panicked a little because it was out of nowhere.

"Are you okay babe" I heard my boyfriend say and I let out a breath of relief. Yes, I have a boyfriend now. It's been about 5 months since I broke up with Jefnier and Brad and I just officially started going out a month ago. I didn't want to date at all but after he tried a couple times I decided to go for it.

"Shit you scared me" I said to him and I turned around and he gave me a kiss.

"Ew pda I'm just going to leave" I heard Stephanie say and I let out a light laugh. I know his name is the basic frat boy name and ironically he is one. He's a junior here at Harvard and is the Quarterback and captain for the football team.

"Yeah I'm fine just thinking" I told him and he nodded and pulled me in for another kiss. I do really like him but I am definitely not in love with him.

"Let's go grab lunch" he suggested and I nodded. We usually grab lunch together almost everyday.

"Yeah where should we go" I asked him.

"Let's go to potbelly" he suggested and I nodded. I have an hour and a half before my nexts class starts and his football practice starts. We walked to the parking lot and walked to his car. We got in his car and he started driving to potbelly.

"What's on your mind baby"he asked me concerned.

"My bestfriend from Puerto Rico you know myke the one I've talked you about gave me some news that I honestly was not ready to hear" I said and he looked at me concerned. "He told me that my ex boyfriend/best friend who cheated one found out that I don't live in Puerto Rico but I don't think he knows that I go to school here" I told him and he nodded understanding. He grabbed my hand and gave it a squeeze.

"If he comes and bothers you let me know and I'll set him in his place" brad said to me and I gave him a weak smile. I'm glad that he will stand up for me like that but I don't want him to hurt Jefnier. I still care for him even though he's done all that to me he was my best friend for like 17 years before hand.

Although, Brad knows about Myke and Jefnier. They don't know about him. Nobody does besides my mom she found out the day he asked me out. I quickly texted myke something so that he can tell Jefnier. I know this will break his heart but it's for his own good.

Me:Hey you are going to get mad at me for not telling you this.

Myke:what did you do? I swear if you dropped out of school or sum bullshit imma knock your shit

Me:no!!oh hell nah I have a boyfriend....

Myke:WTF WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN WHOS DIS FUCKER

Me:chill it kinda just happened and his name is Brad...

Myke:tell me more about him and i want to meet him through ft to see if I approve.

Me:of course... his name is Brad Wayer and he's 20 years old and is a junior here at Harvard. He's captain and quarterback of the football team and president a his fraternity and premed major.

Myke: he sounds like a douch....

Me:Ik his description sounds like that but I promise he's a great guy. I'll text you later I'm about to get lunch

"Babe we're here"Brad said and we got out of the car and walked hand in hand into the restaurant.

"Are we eating here or do you want take it to go" I asked him as we waited in line.

"I was thinking we should eat here since it's not busy" he said and I nodded. "You can sit down if you want I'll order your food.. number 7 with a dr.pepper" he said and I nodded. I gave him a peck on the lips and looked for an empty table for two. Once I found one I sat down and scrolled through my Instagram. Most of the people I have on here are people from PR because I haven't made many friends here. I just hangout with Stephanie and Brad and his friends.

Message from Stephanie

Stephanie:BITCHH OMG WE BOTH GOT OUR LETTERS FROM THE SORORITY

Me:HOLY SHIT OMGGGG WAIT TO OPEN THEM UNTIL WE BOTH ARE AT THE DORM

holy shit.. I might of gotten in to a sorority. I know that being in a sorority is a bit over rated but the one I applied to a bunch of premed students are in there. Which would be a lot of help and great to have friends in the same major in classes to help each other out.

"What got you all excited" I heard brad say as he put out food in front of us. I looked up and gave him the biggest smile.

"I think I got recruited into the sorority I wanted to get in to for next semester" I told him excitedly and he cheered and got up and hugged me.

"Congratulations baby girl" he said with a proud look on his face. He sat back down and we began to eat. "Did they send you a letter" he asked me and I nodded as I chewed my food.

Even though I felt happy at the moment something was bothering me. It was thought of Jefnier coming to find me and me falling for him because I know damn well I'm still not completely over here even though he pulled that shit on me.
