Chapter 39
00:50, 14 September 2014Melanie's POV
As I hang up the phone, Wesley walks in the room and jumps on the bed, lying down next to me.
"What's wrong, baby?" He asks, noticing the scowl on my face.
"Oh, nothing. I'm just tired." I say, and he smiles at me.
"I am too, but you've been on your feet all day and I bet they're killing you.. Do you want a foot massage?" Wesley asks and I can't say no.
I nod and he goes down to my feet to begin to massage them even though my feet are fine. I begin to chicken out from telling him and I honestly have no clue when I'll tell him the truth. It's killing me, though.
"Do you have any baby names, yet?" Wesley asks and I shake my head.
"I don't even know the gender." I say and give him a small smile.
"Oh, yeah." Wesley says and I laugh a bit.
He comes back up to lay down next to me and I smile at him as he kisses my forehead.
"I can't wait for this baby.." He says and rests his hand on my stomach and a pain of guilt goes through me.
"Me either." I say, and kiss his cheek.
*4 months later*
So I should be showing by now and I'm not at all, obviously. Wesley is slowly starting to become more suspicious and I wanna punch my self for not telling him yet.
"Mel, I want to come to the appointment with you. Just please let me." Wesley begs and I shake my head as I begin to get dressed.
"No, Wes. I'm sorry." I say and slip my shoes on.
"Stop fucking lying to me!" Wesley yells, standing up.
"W-what?"
"I know you're not pregnant, Melanie! Fuck!" He yells and I can tell he's furious.
"I- Wesley I'm sorry. Please, I meant to tell you."
"When? When did you mean to tell me, huh?! I can't believe you'd fucking lie to me like this, dammit!" He yells and shoves stuff off of the dresser.
"Wesley, please stop."
"No, Melanie! I can't fucking believe you!" He yells, getting in my face and my heart begins to race.
"Please hear me out."
"I don't wanna listen to anymore of your fucking lies." Wesley says, backing me up against the wall and taking my wrists in his hands, pinning them against the wall
"Wesley, s-stop. You're h-hurting me." I stutter, frightened.
"That could be some more bullshit." He spits, making my heart drop.
"It's not!" I yell and he glares at me, his eyes darkening.
"I'm done, Mel." Wesley says, letting me go and I fall to the floor.
"What?" I ask, rubbing my wrists, not bothering to get up.
"I'm leaving for a little." He says and takes a bag out, beginning to throw clothes in.
"Wesley, I'm so sorry." I say, tears falling down my cheeks.
"You should've thought about that before you lied to me." He spits, and finishes packing.
He doesn't even look at me as he walks out the door with his keys and his bag.
I sit there with my face in my hands as the tears stain my cheeks. I feel horrible by the time I sort of stop crying and I feel like throwing up.
I pick up my phone and scroll down to the only contact that I can think of at the moment.
"Hello?"
"Drew.. Please come over." I say, choking back a sob.
"I'll be right over." He says and I hang up the phone quickly.
A few minutes later, as promised, Drew comes bursting through the door and he looks at me.
"Oh, Melanie." He sighs, coming over to sit next to me and he pulls me into his lap.
I rest my head against his chest, taking his shirt with my fingers and soaking it quickly.
"What happened?"
"Wes found out I wasn't actually pregnant and he left me after scaring the shit out of me." I say and look up at him.
"Did he hurt you?" He speaks and I stay silent.
"Mel.. Did he fucking hurt you?"
"I-I.." I sigh and show him my wrists, causing him to sigh once again.
"Why didn't you tell him 4 months ago when everybody was telling you to?" Drew asks and he pushes some hair behind my ear.
"I don't know.. I just was too scared. He was so happy."
"And now he's pissed, Mel. How did he find out?"
"I have no clue. I was getting ready to go to my fake appointment and he started asking why he couldn't come with me and then he bursted and told me to stop lying to him." I say and more tears fall down my cheeks.
"I'm sorry, Melanie. Do you wanna come over to my place?" Drew asks and I nod.
"Sure." I say and he stands up. "Carry me please?" I ask, pouting at him and he chuckles.
He picks me up bridal style and carries me down to his car, setting me in the passenger seat and I buckle myself in. The drive is quiet and my heart is aching. I just wish Wesley would let me explain.
I look at my phone and I have a few text messages and a missed call from Thomas but other than that, nothing. I don't even bother calling Thomas back and I put my phone back on my lap.
"Did Wes say where he was going?" Drew asks, and he holds my hand.
"No.. He just said he's leaving and that's it. Then he just walked out the door." I say, sniffling.
"He's such an ass.. Just let him have time to cool down." Drew says and pulls into the parking lot where his apartment is.
We walk to Drew's apartment and he takes my hand and leads me into his room, sitting me down. I get under the covers and Drew turns the tv on.
"Do you want me to stay with you or do you want me to stay in the living room?" Drew asks and he gives me a small smile.
"You can stay with me if you want." I mumble, starting to drift off.
I feel the bed dip a second later and I cuddle into Drew, falling asleep immediately.
-
I wake up still cuddled up with Drew to the sound of his phone ringing. I get up and look to see who's calling. Who calls at 3 in the morning?
"Hello?" I ask, rubbing my eyes.
"Drew, I need you to pick me up." I hear Wesley's voice on the other end and he sounds drunk. He obviously can't tell he's talking to a girl.
"Wes.. This is Melanie." I sigh, sitting down in the living room.
"Just put him on the phone." Wesley laughs, and I hear laughs in the background as well. I can tell he's with other people, hopefully with his friends.
"Where are you?" I ask, completely ignoring his demand.
"Some bar. Put him on the phone!" He barks, and I roll my eyes.
"I'm coming to get you, tell me which bar." I say and he takes a good 5 minutes to give me the name of the bar.
I get Drew's keys from the counter and put some shoes on and then head out to Drew's car. I head to the bar, dreading to see Wesley.
I get out of the car, shoving through people and being whistled at many times. I roll my eyes once I see Wesley sitting at the bar, a drink in his hand and he's crying laughing at nothing.
"Wes." I say, grabbing his shoulder and turning him around. The smile wipes off his face as soon as he sees me.
"Oh, it's you." He says and I take his hand, pulling him away from the bar.
"Hey, I wasn't finished with that!" Wesley yells, referring to his drink as I pull him out of the bar.
I ignore him and open the car door for him, forcing him to get in. As I drive, he messes with the air conditioning several times, causing me to swat his hands away and fix it every time.
I finally arrive to his apartment, tossing his arm around my shoulders and he leans into me.
"I need you to help me walk you up the stairs, Wes. I can't do it myself, you're too heavy." I say, and after a bunch of struggling we finally get inside.
Once we get inside Wesley begins to cry heavily and I sigh at the sight. I take him in a hug, and he wets my shoulder with his tears.
"What's wrong?" I ask and he sniffles a bit.
"I just wanna give you a baby, Melanie. I'm still pissed at you for lying to me but please. I'm not a good enough boyfriend and I just want to give you something. Please. I'm so sorry." He says, looking down at me and I push some of the hair off of his forehead.
"Let's get you to bed." I say, and I pull him in his room, taking his shirt and pants off for him.
Once he gets in bed, he passes out immediately and I leave his apartment and get in Drew's car, heading back to his apartment.
