Chapter 2

It was a dark and stormy night, chattering of familiar people sounded in the dark room. A baby's cry could be heard in the hold of a man's arms as he rocked the baby back on forth trying to hush it, "Shhh...it's alright..."

A tear could be seen trickling down his cheek as he continued to calm the crying baby, "Are you crying? Pathetic!" an elderly man boomed, he seemed to be related with the younger man who held the baby as they shared the same facial features.

The elder men glanced at the baby in the younger mans arms and scowled, "This was all your fault, Morfin! I should've thrown her out ages ago! Annoying bastard she is! I'd rather kill her off now if you'd rather Tom do that for you!"

"Don't you dare call her that." Morfin seethed as the baby in his arms started wailing louder than before, quickly he started muttering comforting words as he rocked the baby back and forth.

The elder man only grew more furious at the sight as he scoffed, "Didn't I raise you right? First your sister goes off marrying some Muggle and here you are meddling with a baby! Now she's going to die along with you!"

"JUST SHUT UP, DAD! I've followed everything you've said since the day I was born! I've been your best son! And just this once could you repay that favor!" Morfin snapped as the sound of a loud storm emerged outside the window.

His father stood there stunned, never before has he seen his son so furious at him. He watched as his son continued to sing a lullaby to the baby in his arms, at that moment, just a tiny bit of sympathy he had felt towards the two, "Hide her."

Morfin turned to his father and gave him a puzzled look but his father only nodded his head towards a cupboard in the corner, "That's the only choice we have to hope he doesn't find her."

Morfin's lips pursed together as he slowly nodded, he walked towards the cupboard and opened the doors as he slowly placed the crying baby into the cupboard. Another trickle of tears could be seen falling down his cheek as he unwrapped the baby's grip around his finger, "I'm sorry...it's the best I could do."

He closed the doors of the cupboard, "Colloportus." he casted as a click sounded from the cupboard doors. "Quietus" he casted again as the sounds of the baby crying were now no longer heard.

bang! the doors of the Gaunt Shack bursted open, Morfin gripped his wand tightly as anger fueled him, he poised his wand towards the figure approaching him, "How dare you-"

"tsk tsk...It's alright Uncle, it's just me." the figure clicked his tongue as he glanced to the elderly man, "Hello Grandfather." he grinned devilishly.

"Stand Back, Tom!" Morfin warned as he poised his wand towards the boy, "Avada Ke-"

"Expelliarmus!" Tom casted causing Morfin's wand to fly out of his hands. Tom laughed devilishly at the sight of Morfin and his father's horrified expressions, "How dare you, use my muggle name. The names, Voldemort, Uncle. You should know by now."

Morfin stared in horror as he quickly stood in front of his father, "You will not touch my father! I've heard what've you done to your own family! Kill me! Not him!"

Tom clicked his tongue once more as he shook his head and let out an evil laughter, "You never learn...do you?" he sounded as he flickered his gaze between Morfin and his father.

"Let's do this quickly shall we?" Tom growled lowly as he poised his wand towards Morfin, who was trembling in fear. "Stupefy!"

Morfin was stunned as Tom laughed devilishly, "Ah, now off to you..grandfather." he snarled as he slowly approached the elder man. The elder man watched in fear as he tried to step back but soon stumbled onto the ground continuing to crawl back.

Tom laughed as he bent down and grabbed Morfin's wand and smirked towards the elder man on the ground, he glanced to the stunned Morfin on the laying next to him and grinned, "Poor you grandfather, no one here to protect you no more."

The elder man only stayed on the ground trembling in fear, "P-please..Tom-."

"VOLDEMORT! Don't you dare call me my Muggle name!" Tom snapped furiously as the elder man started shaking viciously in fear.

"R-right..Voldemort...p-please..I beg you.." the elder man stammered as Tom clicked his tongue and shook his head disapprovingly.

He poised Morfin's wand im his hold towards the elder man and smirked, "Any last words?"

The elder man stared in horror as no words could be formed, Tom only laughed at the sight, "I thought so. Goodbye Grandfather."

"Avarda Kedarva!"

Just then, A giant shining green light emitted from the wand in Tom's hold as it hit the elder man who groaned and whimpered loudly in pain. However, Tom's grin only widened as the man grew more and more lifeless each second.

Thud!

Y/N shot her eyes open and jumped out up as her chest heaved up and down, drops of sweat ran down her face as her shirt was drenched. She glanced around the room frantically before letting out a sigh in relief as she slowly recovered her breath.

She buried her face in the palms in her hands and took a deep breath, in attempt to calm herself down.

"Y/N?"

"Ahh!" Y/N shrieked causing her to jump up once more.

"Y/N? Are you okay?" Harry questioned as he held a concerned expression, the girl felt herself calm down as she realized it was just Harry. She nodded and sent a weak smile to the raven-haired boy, "Bloody hell, Harry. I-I'm fine"

However, the raven-haired boy didn't seem convinced as he placed the book he picked up from the floor back on the desk and eyed the girl skeptically, "You're drenched in sweat, what happened?"

"Nothing, just a dream that's all." Y/N responded nonchalantly but she could sense the annoyed sensation from the raven-haired boy. Harry sighed as he motioned to the girls bed and sat on the edge of it, next to the girl, "A nightmare?"

Y/N averted her gaze to her lap as she slowly nodded, "Yeah.." she muttered lowly. Harry sent the girl an apologetic look before he reached his hand out to her lap and patted it softly, "What's it about?"

"I don't know.." Y/N whined irritatedly as she let out a huff, "It's nothing much to worry about I believe.." she told but Harry only scoffed in response.

"You woke up drenched in sweat and all frightened up, that's nothing?" he retorted but the Ravenclaw didn't respond. Harry sighed, his lips pursed together as he watched the disheveled state of the girl, "We've talked about this, Y/N, remember."

Before the Ravenclaw could reply a ding sounded from Harry's phone, he took his phone out of his pocket and glanced back to the girl, "It's Ron, he said we're meeting up at Diagon Alley for our school supplies, then we'd stay at the Burrow, Mr Weasley wants to bring us somewhere in the next two days."

The Ravenclaw nodded as Harry stood up from the bed and walked towards the door, he glanced over his shoulder to the girl with a softened expression, "Estel's made breakfast...we can talk about the dream when you're ready."

Estel's a female elf that Y/N's father brought home the other day because her mother just got promoted from the Ministry to become Head of Muggle Liaison Office meaning she'd be at the Ministry doing work more often now. Her father decided it's only best to have an elf help out at home since he'd be busy with being an Auror.

Y/N sent the raven-haired boy a weak appreciative smile as he returned the gesture before exiting the room. The Ravenclaw groaned as a thud sounded from her back hitting the headboard, "What the hell." she grumbled to herself as she tried to recall the dream she just had.

then, a ding! sounded from her phone as she reached over the bedside table and grabbed it.

Without hesitation, she quickly unlocked her phone as a grin formed on her lips.

Hermione GrangerMorning, Love. Just wondering will you be coming to Diagon Alley too?

Y/N Y/L/NMorning, Angel. Yeah, I'll be there, Harry just told me about it. You?

Hermione Grangerthat's great! I'll be there too. Need to get some new quills and restockingredients for potions.

Y/N Y/L/N Right, me too..I'llsee you there then, need to get ready.

Hermione GrangerAll right, see you later.

Y/N smiled as she closed off her phone and swung her legs off the bed, she stood up and took a big stretch and yawn before motioning towards the bathroom to get ready.

Y/N and Harry were seen stepping out of a fireplace in Leaky Cauldron, patting their clothes dry from the remaining dust and powders. Cups clanging together could be heard as some people were already drinking in the pub.

"Y/N! Harry!"

Their names being called caught the duos attention as they wheeled around, smiles formed on their faces as they watched the bartender, Tom approaching them. Y/N wrapped the bartender in a welcoming hug, "Tom! Nice to see you."

Tom chuckled happily as he pulled away and patted the girl on the back, "Nice to see you too, Y/N." he responded. Then, he glanced over to the raven-haired boy and grinned widely as he pulled him in for a hug, "Harry! Been a while!"

Harry chuckled as he accepted the man's hug,"It has hasn't it? How've you been?" he questioned as Tom pulled away. "Been great! Business bustlin as usual." Tom beamed as the duo grinned in response.

"That's great Tom." Y/N responded as Harry nodded in agreement. The raven-haired boy cleared his throat before glancing back to Tom and smiled, "Sorry, Tom but we've got to head to Diagon Alley. Nice talking to you."

Tom smiled and nodded as he stepped aside and swung his towel up onto his shoulder, "Well don't let me be botherin' ya, go ahead! I'll see you later."

"Thanks, bye Tom!" Y/N responded as they headed to the back of Leaky Cauldron and faced the familiar stone break wall. The Ravenclaw motioned to her pockets and took out her wand and counted along the stone bricks before finding the exact one.

knock knock knock. Just then, the wall shook and created an archway revealing the twisted long pathway Y/N and Harry knew too well. Smiles formed on their faces as they walked into the stone pathway of Diagon Alley.

Y/N glanced over to the raven-haired boy beside her as they walked down the pathway, "Did they mention where to meet?" she questioned as the raven-haired boy nodded in response. "Gringotts."

The Ravenclaw nodded as they motioned down the long pathway, watching a few familiar faces pass by as they reached the large white building. Y/N only smiled widely as she noticed a certain girl standing there talking with Lizzy on the stairs.

Y/N and Harry approached the group of friends who were already waiting the stairs, Y/N wasted no time and wrapped the bushy-haired girl in a hug and gave a small peck on her cheek, "Hi."

The bushy-haired girl giggled as she slowly pulled away, "Hi." she responded.

Suddenly, she felt a big hit on her shoulder causing her to stumble a little as she groaned, "Ow!"

She turned to her side and narrowed her eyes at Lizzy who was snickering beside her. The Ravenclaw rolled her eyes and huffed, "Hello. Lizzy." she murmured as Lizzy stopped herself from snickering, "Hello. Y/N."

They all continued to greet each other before the duo headed into the bank to retrieve some wizarding money for their school supplies. After that, they all motioned to Flourish and Blotts to get their assigned books for the new term in Hogwarts.

"Here for Hogwarts books, dear?" the lady behind the counter questioned as the group motioned through the shop. Y/N smiled and nodded in response as she stood in front of the group, "Yes please, we're all fourth years."

The lady smiled and nodded as she head into the back and grabbed a few stacks of books to the counter.

The Ravenclaw sent the lady a thankful grin, "Thank you." she responded as she placed some galleons and sickles onto the couner.

The lady grinned and sent the girl a dismissuve wave, "It's no problem, dear. Have fun!"

"Oh we will, my dad's bringing us to the Quidditch Cup next week!" Ron cheered as Y/N and Harry glanced at the red haired boy puzzled.

Ron noticed the duo's stare as he quirked his eyebrow up, "What?" he questioned as Y/N scoffed in response., "We're going to the Quidditch Cup?"

The red-haired boy's eyes widened like he'd just realised something. Harry noticed the other's knowing looks as he tilted to his head to the side, "All of you knew?"

Caleb and Lizzy snickered as the red-haired boy turned pink, "Seems like someone had forgotten to tell the both of you." Lizzy teased as she playfully nudged the red-haired boy beside her.

Y/N eyes narrowed at the red-haired boy as he ducked his head down nervously, "U-uh I thought i-it'd be a good surprise?" he spluttered nervously in an uncertain tone.

"Ronald." Y/N growled as she glared at the red-haired boy with her arms crossed. The bushy-haired girl snickered before placing her hand over the girl's shoulder and the other on Harry's, "I would love for the both of you to murder him but let's do it outside the shop, shall we?"

Ron shot the bushy-haired girl a glare as she playfully shrugged in response, the duo nodded as the other's snickered beside them.

"You're in for a good one mate." Caleb whispered to the red-haired boy as they all exited the bookstore.

"Honestly,Ron how could you not tell us!" Harry huffed as he pushed the doors open and exited the shop.

the Ravenclaw hummed in agreement as she held the door open for the bushy-haired girl, "Exactly! You know how much Quidditch means to me and Harry and not letting us know we're going to attend the Quidditch Cup?!"

"Dunno, might've just slipped my mind.." Ron mumbled lowly as he exited the shop. Aidan snickered as he walked pass the red-haired boy and patted him on the shoulder, "Apparently you remembered to tell us."

"Hey! Don't make things worse!" Ron retorted as Aidan innocently shrugged. Lizzy snickered as they motioned down the stone pathway, "Okay Y/N, Harry calm down now, don't want to murder your friend before term starts."

Y/N rolled her eyes and scoffed, "Whatever." she growled but soon softened up as she felt the bushy-haired girl's hand intertwining hers.

She glanced at her girlfriend beside her and smiled as the bushy-haired girl returned the gesture, both of them swaying their hands back and forth slightly as they walked down the pathway.

Lizzy noticed as she rolled her eyes playfully, "Honestly, you two have to quit being so adorable." she scoffed as the others hummed in agreement.

The Ravenclaw shook her head disapprovingly as she glanced over her shoulder to Lizzy, "You could do the same to Ronald over there, he'd love that." she retaliated as Lizzy and Ron's cheeks flashed a light pink.

The others snickered as the raven-haired boy swung an arm around Y/N's shoulder, "Think we'll have a normal school year?" he questioned as he glanced over to the girl beside him.

The Ravenclaw sighed as she looked down to her intertwined hand then back to the raven-haired boy and shrugged, "I sure hope so."
