20:39, 10 April 2021Lightly swaying through the dimly lit corridor, I reached for the wall to my right in order to hold myself up.
They say you only realise how drunk you really are once you were by yourself. And whoever they were, they were definitely right.
The unfamiliar wings attached to my back made it harder for me to keep my balance, even without alcohol. So, the fact Malfoy hadn't noticed my loud footsteps and quieter curses slipping past my lips whenever I almost tripped and fell was almost laughable.
Glancing around a corner as discreetly as I could, I watched him climb the stairs of the astronomy tower swiftly, cape swaying behind him lightly and reminding me of Snape a little too much.
Seeing how close the Malfoy's were with the professor, I wondered whether he simply borrowed it for the night and would plan on giving it back to Snape in the morning.
The thought alone made a singular giggle escape my lips, my eyes widening as I retreated behind the wall, back pressed into it in hopes it might swallow me whole.
I held my breath, listening into the silence for any clues on the boy's reaction. He halted in his steps at the sound, the even clicking of his shows against the stone fading and leaving the corridor completely silent;
Nothing but the howling of the wind outside of the castle audible.
It must've been close to a minute in which the silence dragged on, and as soon as his shoes were heard against the stone again, a sigh of relief rattled through my chest.
Hearing the door to the tower open, I decided to go on; my footsteps so silent as they followed him up, I was a little surprised by it myself.
My brows furrowed lightly at the opened door before me. Though I wasn't going to complain, seeing as opening it without a sound would've been a far more challenging task.
Instead, I slipped through the crack, nose scrunching up when one of my wings got stuck in the door frame. I wiggled it slightly, only now realising I had full control of them.
A wide smile found itself on my lips at the discovery, flapping them simultaneously as well as the left one first, followed by the right one. Playing with them for a full minute, a joyful sound escaping my lips, I forgot what I was even here for.
The door loudly falling into its hinges behind me reminded me; smile fading and my body jerking around to find Malfoy leisurely leaning against the wall behind the door, an amused smirk on his lips.
"How much of an idiot do you think I am, Hayes?"
I quirked a brow at his words, feeling heat crawl over my neck all the way up to my cheeks, the latter tinting a light pink at the situation. Though, as long as he couldn't see the colour of my skin changing into one of light humiliation, I wouldn't let it be noticeable any other way.
"For my own sake, I prefer not to say," I quipped back, watching his attention flicker over to my wings, lightly batting behind my back. A sly smile found itself on my lips.
"Right," He huffed, rolling his eyes in an irritating manner as he pushed himself off the wall to take a few long strides over to where I was standing. Instead of waiting for him to stand before me, I turned around to step further onto the platform, the winds around us howling loudly and sending a shiver down my spine at the sudden drop in temperature.
Despite it all, I went on as if nothing about this evening was unusual; as if I didn't follow the blonde up here and as if he didn't just catch me doing so.
"So," I hummed lightly, hands clasped behind my back and my eyes steadily taking in the dark night before me. "What brings you here, Malfoy?" My hair was fiercely dancing in the wind, whipping right into my faces more than just a few times with each particularly strong gust.
He snorted dryly, and I saw him shake his head as he positioned himself next to me, his eyes upfront like mine were. "I think I should be the one asking you that, no?" Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed his gaze darting in my direction for a split second as the words left his mouth.
"Shame I was the one who asked first," I shrugged, and an annoyed sigh passed his lips. He turned around to lean against the low barrier separating him from certain death, eyes dragging up and down my body while simultaneously forcing me to look at him.
He crossed his arms in front of his chest as soon as his eyes landed on my face again, mere inches from my own; He'd only have to lean forward the slightest bit for his lips to graze my ear.
"I came up here knowing you were following me," He explained casually, a victorious smirk on his lips. "And you?"
A confused look on my face, brows knitted together tightly in irritation, I said, "And I followed you," as if it was the most obvious of facts. He did just say so.
If I wasn't intoxicated enough to forget half of this conversation again tomorrow, I might've been embarrassed by it.
Hopefully, I would.
"And why did you do that?"
My head snapped back up to him, watching the smirk on his face grow as he tilted his head.
"You know, it's not every day you see Draco Malfoy leave without a girl by his side." The smirk on his lips turned into a grin, showing his teeth and drawing my attention onto the two particularly sharp ones among them.
I myself retorted with an innocent smile, hands moving to absentmindedly rub up and down my arms to warm myself.
"Well, it seems now I've left with you."
I quirked a brow at his statement, my eyes flickering down his figure once more; quickly noting how a cape like he was wearing — silver embroidery decorating the hem of it, the fabric expensive looking and the chain holding it laced with small diamonds — couldn't ever belong to someone like Snape.
"It seems you have," I drawled lowly, a singular crack of thunder in the distance making my eyes divert off of his frame and onto the dark skies behind him. It's when they slide back onto his face that lightning strikes, illuminating the darkness for mere moments.
His pale skin glistened in the light, harsh features of his cheekbones and jawline prominent, and the light blush on his cheeks noticeable. Whether it was from the alcohol or the cold, I wasn't sure.
The cape still blowing in the wind behind him, his head tilted slightly as another thunder rattled through the night; the sound of heavy rain hitting the roof above us filling up the air right after.
In order to make sure I'd hear him, he leaned forward, his mouth right by my ear. It was my body reacting to him all on its own when I leaned in closer, eyes closing as his lips grazed my ear.
His breath smelled of fire whisky, and the scent mixed with the rain was heavenly. I caught myself taking a deep breath, my world spinning as I was reminded of the same alcohol still flowing through my system.
Malfoy remained quiet, though I didn't much mind as his lips parted slightly, and instead of the soft touch of them against my ear, it was the sharp edge of a fang that traced along it, feeling heat crawl all the way up to where he was slowly making his way down to my neck.
I swallowed thickly, the huff against my bare skin letting me know he was more than aware of every single one of my movements. He stilled in his own, breath steady against me before he placed a singular, gentle kiss in the curve between my shoulder and neck.
The gesture made me furrow my brows as my breathing grew heavier all on its own, waiting for his next move rather impatiently.
His teeth scraped along my skin, making me stifle a longing sound just as he dipped his head out of the curve between my neck and shoulder. His face was still mere inches from mine, and I turned my head to the left slightly in order to level our eyes.
He swallowed thickly; his pupils dilated — hardly any of the piercing blue in them visible anymore.
His hand raised to cup my chin. Tilting it upward, he whispered, "I'm afraid we'll have to find some other time for these—" before his lips parted once more and his tongue flicked over one of those sharp teeth of his. "We're both so terribly drunk, aren't we?"
My eyes lingered on his lips, the words coming out of them reasonable, though not quite what I had expected. He let go of my chin, my eyes meeting his again with another rumble of thunder in the distance.
The sound made me snap out of whatever I just fell into, giving my head a sturdy shake, a sly smirk on my lips only seconds later.
"If we're lucky, we're drunk enough to wake up with no recollection of any of this."
A/N: No because these two are EVERYTHING
