Chapter 12: Bunga's Downfall

"Okay guys, you know the drill this is just gonna be a normal patrol today, okay?" Said Kion to his friends.

"Yeah we get it, sure be nice if there was trouble though, I'm ready to fight off any of those hyenas!" Said Bunga, jumping around in attack mode.

"Haha, yeah I guess but.. trouble is not always a good thing Bunga." Said Kion rolling his eyes playfully at his comment.

"Aw, cmon Kion! I can face any danger I'm the bravest honey badger there is!" Said Bunga bravely smirking.

"Yeah... we know Bunga." Said Fuli annoyed with Bunga complimenting himself.

"Well, anyways guys I think we'll need a little bit more of training, before we can take on any more hyenas we haven't done it in awhile." Said Kion walking fast in front of them.

"You know... that's a great idea Kion! now I can show those hyenas how brave I really am!" Said Bunga flipping in the air while swinging on a vine.

"Hmph, sounds good to me I'm always ready to train." Said Fuli smirking while stretching her back, showing off her slim body.

"Poa, that'll be great!" Said Beshte cheerfully.

"Sure, I'm not doing anything so why not?" Said Ono, agreeing with his friends.

"Then, let's get started you guys follow me." Said Kion.

They then arrived to a flat grassy area, tall grass surrounded the place with boulders, and a big rock in the center.

"Okay guys, we're gonna start with some speed training hmm... okay, Fuli and Ono, you two will race each other." Said Kion glancing at the two of them.

Fuli was stretching out her back legs getting in position.

Ono was flapping his wings, ready for the real challenge.

"On your mark, get set, GO!" Said Kion.

Fuli was already ahead of Ono almost to the finish line, which was the boulder in the center.

Ono flew diligently and fastly he breathed heavily,  trying to keep up with Fuli's speed, he eventually got to the point to where he was right behind her.

"I'm right on your tail Fuli!" Said Ono in between breaths.

"Not for long!" Said Fuli looking back and then zooming at full speed.

Fuli ended up meeting the boulder first, with Ono still left behind he collapsed on the grass in exhaustion.

"Hmm, nice try Ono, maybe you'll get me next time." Said Fuli smirking confidently grooming herself.

"Well, I'm not in shock no one is as fast as you Fuli." Said Kion smirking and giving her a wink.

"Ha, I know Kion, no need to rub it in." Said Fuli, smirking back, as she brushed her slim body against his, giving him a lick on his cheek, Kion blushed.

"Well, you didn't beat her Ono, but as long as your a little fast, I'm good." Said Kion, looking down at Ono, laughing at his expression.

"Ha, I think I'm done." Said Ono still out of breath.

"Okay now we're gonna do the sneak up drill, haven't done these in awhile." Said Kion, brushing his paw against the soft grass.

"Yeah, you're right and I'm a master at this!" Said Bunga folding his arms a confident grin spread on his face.

"Alright guys, remember wait til I'm out of sight then sneak up on me but don't let me hear you!" Said Kion, as he ran away sitting quietly, waiting for any signs of movement.

Fuli was the first, to sneak up on him she hid in the tall grass, creeping up on her mate.

She steadily crawled through the tall grass making sure, not to make any sudden movement, she then approached Kion and flicked him with her tail.

He spun around, and was surprised to see Fuli behind him, the first one to sneak up on him without him hearing her.

"Haha, hey Fuli, you're good I didn't even hear you coming." Said Kion smirking, walking around her.

"Ha, guess you better try harder Kion." Said Fuli grinning.

"Yeah, I guess so." Said Kion grinning back, only to find himself stroking his paw across Fuli's fur.

He couldn't help it, all of his friends did say how soft her fur was. He wanted to see if it was true. But it turned out, his friends were right. Her fur was very soft.

Um, Kion what are you doing?" Questioned Fuli,as she noticed his paw moving across her side.

Kion quickly noticed what he was doing, and immediately moved away his paw away, looking flustered.

"Uh, uh, s-sorry Fuli I just got carried away... I don't know what I was doing.." Stammered Kion, blushing nervously at the cheetah, who was standing impatiently raising an eyebrow at Kion.

A smirk suddenly plastered on her face.

"Hmm... sure Kion.. well whatever you were doing..., it felt good but just to keep it between you and me, I know you just can't resist me Kion it's okay no need to be embarrassed." Said Fuli chuckling at his expression.

"Y-yeah okay.. thanks for understanding Fuli, really I didn't mean to do that....." Said Kion looking at the ground slapping his paw against his shoulder punishing himself for his unacceptable actions. Kion felt awful for touching his mate in such a odd way, he knew they weren't to that level in their relationship yet and didn't want to lose her.

"Kion, It's okay hahaha I'm not gonna bite your head off." Said Fuli trying to comfort him.

"I know, it's just I feel bad for doing that to you... it's just you know I've never really had those intentions and I seriously apologize I know you don't like your fur being touched, I should've never it was just so soft I wanted to feel of it, you know cause Bunga always says it's really soft, but I didn't mean to make this awkward really." Said Kion, looking flustered at Fuli his cheeks got even redder.

"Kion.." Said Fuli.

"No, let me finish look Fuli to be honest  I really don't deserve you sometimes I just treat you like gazelle meat, and I'm sorry that we argue all the time, I haven't been the best mate to you lately, and I'm sorry I know I can't bring you flowers, or gazelle everyday really I don't deserve you I've been nothing but a raging lion towards you I'm so sorry Fuli I really am." Continued Kion, looking at Fuli almost in tears.

"Kion....." Said Fuli, even more serious than before, she really wanted to hold him in her arms and comfort him. She felt bad for him, but she let him continue with his words.

"Fuli, I'm sorry for everything I know I can't be the best mate I try to but sometimes it just doesn't work out, I'm also sorry for breaking your heart when you saw me with Jasiri, I had no idea until you told me I felt so bad I should've just left right after I helped her but she wanted me to stay, and Fuli I'm also sorry for all the times I tried to roar off Badili. I know he was just a caring friend and I should've never said anything to him it's just I love you and I care for you I didn't want him to take you from me I-"

Before Kion, could finish his sentence, Fuli went up to him and kissed him. Kion kissed her back, slowly trying to breathe hold in the moment. He was out of breath from all the talking he was doing, just to tell Fuli how sorry he really was.

They departed and that's when Fuli nuzzled him.

"Kion, there's no need to say sorry, if anything you're the best mate in the whole world, I wouldn't want anyone else to be my mate, but you. Kion, when I first met you, it was just like love at first sight I've always wanted to tell you how I feel even if I've never showed it, and now you're apologizing for all the things that clearly wasn't your fault? How could I possibly be mad at you for you pretty much explaining your heart out to me. You don't need to bring up all the mistakes that have happened, because that's in the past now. I love you, with all my heart and just seeing you so upset it breaks me. I don't want you to be sad Kion, I know you didn't mean to and like I said it's okay there's no need to apologize because no matter what, I'll still always love you no matter what you do." Said Fuli looking into Kion's eyes, Kion just smiled.

"Thank you Fuli, I don't know what my life would be like without you."

"It's my pleasure Kion, oh and by the way, you were right I don't like my fur being touched often, but to say the least it felt real good when you were touching me." Said Fuli, smirking, which brought Kion's attention. Never once had Fuli ever said that she liked her fur being touched, but knowing that it was from him, that made Fuli enjoy it, he felt amazing.

Since when does she like having her fur touched? He thought.

"Oh, uh really? Wow..  well Fuli I'm really flattered that you feel that way." Said Kion, smirking back at her hoping his words were just as charming.

"Of course, anyways where's everyone else? why haven't they targeted you yet?" Asked Fuli.

"I don't know, maybe we should go look for them? they would've pounced on me by now." Replied Kion.

"You're right, let's go." Said Fuli.

But before the two felines could go searching for their friends, they both heard a yell out in the distance.

"KION! HELPP!" Said a voice that sounded a lot like Bunga.

"HEVI KABISA! That sounded like Bunga! he's in trouble cmon let's go!" Said Kion as he and Fuli ran towards the sound.

"Okay I'm here! what's going on? is Bunga okay??" Said Kion in a panicky tone.

"Kion! Kion! thank goodness you're here! Bunga tried to take a shortcut but he didn't know there was a cliff and he's fallen down the slope! You have to hurry and save him!!" Said Ono flying to him quickly.

"Don't worry Bunga! I'm coming! hang on!!" Said Kion as he made his way down the steep slope running to him.

"HURRY KION!" Bunga yelped.

"Bunga, I'm gonna need you to use your claws to grasp on okay?" Said Kion while running.

"Uh okay!" Said Bunga, as he grasped on stopping himself from falling any further.

"Okay Bunga! I've got you!" Said Kion, as he leaped in the air and grasped on to Bunga's tail, his claws scratching the cliff as he pulled Bunga up slowly. 

"Kion! I'm scared what if you drop me?" Said Bunga shivering.

"Bunga, I'm the fiercest in the lion guard, I've been pulling animals out of streams, even off cliffs!  I'm not gonna drop you, even  if it takes all my might to save you." Said Kion.

He trudged up the slope slowly with Bunga's tail in his jaws, but Kion's paw slipped and they both came tumbling down the cliff head first.

"NOOOO!" Their friends cried out.

Kion and Bunga were falling and falling until they hit the ground with a hard thud.

The guard rushed over to them in complete utter shock, they've never witnessed a fall from any of their friends until today.

Fuli ran over to Kion the look on her face said it all, as tears came streaming down her face.

Kion was unconscious but when Fuli licked his cheek, he awoke.

"Huh? Fuli is that you?" Asked Kion as he took his eyes to adjust seeing her in front of him.

"Oh thank goodness you're okay I was so worried!" Said Fuli helping him up on his fours.

"What? is Bunga alright?" Said Kion a look of worry on his face.

"I don't know... he's not waking up..." Said Fuli looking at the ground.

"Hevi Kabisa! this is all my fault... I should've never suggested this training... if I hadn't this would've never happened...." Said Kion solemnly.

"Don't blame yourself Kion it wasn't your fault you didn't know." Said Fuli reassuring him.

"Well, we better get him to Rafiki right away." Said Kion turning to his friends they just nodded.

Kion and Fuli walked over to him and tried to awake him. "Bunga? can you hear me?" Said Kion shaking him.

Luckily, Bunga awoke with one eye open,  but he could barely see them.

"Kion? is that you?" He asked wearily.

"Yes, it's me buddy." Said Kion.

"My arm hurts...." Said Bunga in pain.

"I know I know, don't worry buddy we're gonna get you to Rafiki it'll be alright just hang on okay?" Said Kion placing a paw on his shoulder.

"Okay..." Said Bunga, going back in a sleep unconscious.

"Guys, don't worry about this I'll carry him there." Said Kion.

Kion and the rest of the guard walked the rest of the way to Rafiki's tree, with Bunga on Kion's back.

"But what about you Kion? aren't you hurt?" Asked Fuli turning to him as they were walking together the worry showed on her face again.

"A little sore from the fall, but I'm good." Said Kion reassuring her.

"Are you sure? where does it hurt?" Questioned Fuli.

"It's just my front leg, but it's no big deal I can handle it Fuli." Said Kion giving her a faint smile.

"Kion, are you sure you're okay?" Asked Fuli again still worried about him.

"Fuli, I'm fine you worry too much haha but that's why I love you." Said Kion licking her cheek.

"Haha, yeah but do you think Bunga's gonna be okay? you two fell down pretty hard." Said Fuli.

"I sure hope so, but Bunga's tough, and he's brave, I know he'll be okay." He replied positively.

"Yeah, you're right he has to be fine." Said Fuli agreeing with him.

Will Bunga be okay? Will there have to be a replacement for the Lion Guard?!

Hey guys! so in this one I actually left you with a cliff hanger... yep... but this one is actually pretty interesting Bunga especially gets into a awful situation, as well as Kion constantly apologizing to Fuli...haha all you Kion X Fuli shippers are gonna love this part..😉❤️❤️ anyways, hope you enjoyed this chapter!
