The Star-Spangled Man

You, Sam, and Sarah were all watching the news. You only heard little snippets of things, but you heard something you thought would never be said.

Walker: Even though I never met him, he feels like a brother to me.

Sam and Sarah both looked at me.

You: Steve is not your brother he's mine, and if I- no when I meet you, you're going to regret that.

You started blabbering on about what he said. The next day you and Sam went to an army place or something, this was Sam's army Homebase thingy before the incident with Rieley, his best friend.

Torres: Seems like a good guy. You met him.

Sam: No

You: No, but when I do his foot will be right up his ass.

Sam: Thanks for doing this on such short notice.

Torres: Yeah. No sweat. I'm just finishing up the checklist. You'll be all good to go once you land in Munich.

You, Sam, and Torres are walking down the stairs with you and Sam holding duffel bags. Even before you are finished walking down the stairs Bucky speaks.

Bucky: Shouldn't have given up the shield.

Sam: Good to see you too, Buck.

You and Sam walk past Bucky as he speaks.

Bucky: This is wrong.

Sam: Hey, hey we're working alright? So all this outrage is gonna have to wait.

Bucky: You didn't know that was going to happen.

Sam: No, of course, I didn't know it was going to happen, because if I did I would be in the hospital bed with severe injuries. Don't you think it broke our hearts to see them march him out there? And call him the new Captain America.

Bucky: This isn't what Steve wanted.

You: Oh my god, so, what do you want us to do, call America up and tell 'em I changed my mind? Huh? Ha yeah, right. It's a great reunion buddy, be well.

Bucky: He had no right to give up the shield and you know it Y/n.

Sam: Hey, this is what you're not going to do. You're not gonna come here in your overextended life and tell me about my rights. It's over Bucky. Besides, we have bigger things to deal with now.

Bucky: What could be bigger than this?

Sam: This guy. His connections with rebel organizations all over Eastern and Central Europe, and he's strong. Too strong.

Bucky: And?

You: Well, he's been connected to this online group called the Flag Smashers. Now, Redwing traced them down to a building outside of Munich. So that's where we're going.

Bucky: Well, I don't trust Redwing.

He says while Sam and I walk away.

Bucky: Hold on a minute.

Sam: You don't have to trust Redwing, but we're gonna see if he's right. 'Cause I have a feeling they might be a part of the big 3.

Bucky: What big 3?

Sam: The big 3.

Bucky: What big 3?

Sam: Aliens, Androids, and Wizards.

You: Sam, that's not a thing.

Sam: That's definitely a thing.

Bucky: No, it's not.

Sam: Every time we fight we fight one of the 3.

Bucky: Who are you fighting now, Gandalf?

You: How do you know about, Gandalf?

Bucky: I read 'The Hobbet' in 1937 when it first came out.

Sam: So, you see my point.

Bucky: No, I don't, there are no wizards.

Sam: Dr. Strange

You: Is a sorcerer.

Sam: Ha, sorcerers are wizards without hats. Think about it, right? I'm right. I just came up with that. It's crazy. But that's not the point. These guys aren't magical. They use brute force, the incredibly annoying guy in front of me with the staring problem.

Bucky: I'm coming with you.

You: No you're not.

-A Few Hours Later-

Sam and Bucky are sitting opposite one another having a staring contest, while you just sit on a black box that has Sam's and mine duffel bags on it and the earpieces

Torres: 1 minute until drop off, Sam.

He says while walking I just nod at him. The 2 lean forward, the hatch opens and they both stand up, to come over where I was sitting. Sam reaches behind me and grabs his goggles and an earpiece out of a little box. I grab my earpiece and Bucky grabs his.

Bucky: So what's our plan?

Sam or I don't answer him.

Bucky: Great. So no plan.

Torres: 30 seconds!

Sam: Enjoy your ride, Buck.

Bucky: No, you can't call me that.

Sam: Why not? That's what Steve called you.

Bucky: Steve knew me longer, and Steve had a plan.

Torres: 15 seconds to drop!

Sam: I have a plan.

Bucky: Really? What is it?

Sam jumps out of the plane. I jump off the box and stand next to Bucky

You: Yeah, he doesn't have a plan.

Bucky: Great. Where's the chute!

You walk over to the open hatch and giggle.

Torres: We're 200 feet. It's too low for a chute.

Bucky: I don't need it anyway.

Torres and you: Are you sure about that.

Bucky: Yeah, but what about you Y/n. You don't have wings or a metal arm.

You: Come on, you and I always used to jump off high buildings without parachutes I'll be fine.

You backflip out of the plane and now are falling. You catch a branch and are climbing down the tree branch to branch, and it's just your lucky day. Bucky falls all the way to the ground grunting from the pain. 

You: I could watch that all day. By the way, how didn't you catch a branch, you taught me that trick, remember?

Bucky: Just a little rusty.

Sam/Redwing: I caught all of that on camera you know that right?

 Bucky: Get out of my face Sam or I'll break it.

And with that Bucky stands up and you jump out of the tree.

Sam/Redwing: Okay, head North. Come on. 

You and Bucky walk and do some small talk about who they used to be until you 2 got to the building. The 2 of you walk into what looks like a run-down warehouse of some sort. Bucky attempts to punch Redwing when it comes towards us.

Sam/Redwing: Oh-ho-ho. Don't hurt him.

You walk up next to Sam and Bucky on the other side of him.

You: You're doing the staring thing again.

Sam: They're in there.

Bucky: Where's the guy?

Sam: I don't know. I think they're smuggling weapons, though.

Bucky: Well, I think you could be right.

You: Hmm.

Bucky: But there's only one way to find out. I see a clear path. I say we take it.

You stop him.

You: We're not assassins anymore.

Bucky: I'll see you guys inside or not.

You: Hey, come on, man. I'm just messing with you. Come back.

Sam through earpiece: Look at you, all stealthy.

You and Sam chuckle.

Sam: A little time in Wakanda and you come out White Panther.

Bucky: It's actually White Wolf.

You and Sam: Huh?

Bucky: All right, I'm inside. Therefore, way ahead of you 2. It's not great, but very doable.

You and Sam come next to him with you in the middle.

Bucky: Huh? Hello, how are you?

Sam: Good, what did we miss? Nothing.

Bucky: All right, let's go.

Sam: No, wait.

Bucky: I got a vibramium arm. I can take them.

Sam: And I can fly, she has powers, swords, and knives. Who gives a shit? Wait.

Bucky: You have powers?

Sam: Yes she does, now focus. I want to see where they're going.

Bucky: The're 2 people.

You: You only see 2?

Bucky: That's what I saw.

You: Sam, let's see what Redwing sees.

Bucky: All right.

You: Let's see what Redwing... Oh, look at that. How many people do you see now? 1, 2... Oh look here it comes again. Four. Five

Bucky: Yeah. Fine. Yeah. So they're strong. Whatever. All right, let's go

Sam: No, no, wait

Bucky bangs something.

Sam: Shit

You 3 are crouching in silence as you and Bucky are spotting people without them seeing you, and Sam watching Redwing. All the people turn around and go back to the trucks.

Alana: All right, let's move. Let's move, yeah.

The trucks start-up and people are climbing in the back, while someone is closing the doors.

Sam: There's an 8th person. I think they have a hostage.

Without thinking you stand up and sprint after the truck, Bucky overtaking you and Sam flying over the top of you. You grab your sword and throw it forward without letting it go, the sword wraps itself around a handle on the door and pulls you towards it. You're now on the roof of the second truck.

Bucky: They're stealing medicine. Vaccines.

You're watching the girl coming out of hiding behind boxes.

Bucky: Hi.

You: Bucky talk to me. What's goin' on?

Bucky: Found the hostage. Are you okay? 

She smile's at him and he smiles back. Then she kicks him out of the truck, Bucky crashing on the front windscreen of the truck you're on.

You: Rejcted!

Bucky: Shit!

She puts on a mask with a hand on it. 2 men push you to the end of the truck and go after Bucky, pulling him up and holding him back. The girl jumps to the truck we're on and walks past Bucky over to me. Bucky struggles to get free from the 2 men holding him.

Redwing comes and starts shooting at the girl. She attacks it by jumping up and grabbing it and smashing it in half with her knee.

Bucky: I always wanted to do that.

Sam comes flying down in front of me and starts fighting the girl.

Bucky: Good for you to join the fight, Sam!

The girl throws Sam over to the other truck and walks over to me. I grab my swords but she kicks them out of my hands, so she's holing them now. I put up my fists to fight but that was a terrible idea because all I got was afoot to the knee causing me to fall to the roof of the truck.

All of a sudden a red, white, and blue dinner plate comes flying at one of the men. I look up to see John Walker, the Captain America wannabe, I look back down at my knee then my swords. I grab them and now everything is a blur, things are getting thrown and people are falling.

Walker: Sam. John Walker, Captain America.

Lemar: Lemar Hoskins. Looks like you guys could use some help.

You Mumble: No you're not Captain America, and no we don't need help.

The truck speeds up which cause you to almost fall off the back, but you save yourself by sticking your sword into the roof

Sam: That lil' girl kick your ass.

Bucky yells at Sam, Sam flys over to Bucky and they end up rolling on the grass. The girl pulls out my sword and throws me on the road while I hug my sword.
