Chapter 15: The Bell Test Pt. 2

Nue's POV

We began to fight each other head on. He tried to scratch my arm with his kunai knife, but I dodged out of the way. I ran at him and tried to kick him. But he caught my foot and swung me to a tree. I did a back flip and landed on the tree branch.

I quickly did some hand signs. "Water Style: Acid Spit!" I spit water out of my mouth and it began to rain down on Kakashi-sensei. He did some hand signs himself, then looked up the acid rain. "Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!"

Fire spitted out of his mouth and it collided with my acid rain. Steam began to form as they hit. I jumped down into the fog and looked around, trying to locate Kakashi. I closed my eyes and began to concentrate on his chakra.

I snapped my eyes open, turned around, and clashed my kunai with someone else's kunai. The fog cleared and I saw Kakashi holding his kunai against mine. I frowned before kicking my feet up and pushing off his stomach.

I did a backflip and skidded back. Think, Nue. How are you supposed to get a bell from a jonin? I thought back to when I was fighting Genshi. I had that power. But it was dark, yet it felt good. Could I do that again?

Even if I could, how could I trigger it? I was unstable then. There has to be another way. Because I was thinking to myself, Kakashi-sensei was quickly in front of me. I gasped when he punched me in the face. I skidded on my feet before landing on my back.

"Nue, get up!" Kiyoshi said. My bangs covered my eyes as I laid there. A smirk formed on my face. "I think I know how to trigger it now." I said before sitting up. I stood to my feet, then quickly did some hand signs.

"Dark Style: Shadow Tentacles!" My arms turned into black tentacles. "Now, let's dance." I said, swinging my tentacles around. "Not good. What kind of jutsu is that?" I heard Kakashi mumble. "You won't live long enough to find out." I said before charging at him.

I swung my tentacle down on him, causing him to move out of the way. "You're not going anywhere, Kakashi!" I said, slashing my tentacles everywhere, trying to hit him.

Kakashi's POV

This isn't good. Nue's out of control. She smirked before she began to laugh evilly. "What's the matter, Kakashi! I thought you were a ninja! Come on and fight me!" Nue yelled as she swung her tentacles at me. I dodged out of the way, doing a shoulder roll.

I did hand signs for the fireball jutsu and spit fire through my mask. The fire surrounded Nue. Did I get her? When the fire died down, I saw Nue with her tentacles, protecting her from the flames. "Is that all you got?" Nue taunted before swinging her left tentacle at me.

Not good. I jumped back and took a look at Nue. Her eyes weren't red like they were before. They were glowing purple. She laughed like a maniac before slashing her tentacles again. I blocked them off with my kunai. This girl was not Nue. It couldn't be.

Even so, I have get her to snap out of it. I charged at her as her tentacles tried to hit me. I dodged them as I ran towards her. When I got closer to her, I tackled her to the ground. She growled in anger and tried to make her black tentacle to wrap around my waist.

I grabbed her wrists, or tentacles, and pinned them by her head. "Nue, you need to calm down! Snap out of it!" I said to her. She just frowned at me and yelled, "Let go of me, bastard!" The ground shook beneath us.

What's happening? I looked at the sky, seeing some kind of black hole appear above our heads. Nue chuckled, darkly. "It's time to go to hell, Kakashi." Nue said. "Sorry, Nue. But it's not time for that yet." Who said that?

Nue's eyes returned to their red color as her black tentacles turned back into her arms. I looked above us, seeing the black hole closing until it disappeared. I looked back at Nue as she blinked her eyes. She looked at me.

"Kakashi-sensei? Could you, uh... get off me?" She asked. I got off her and helped her to her feet. "Are you okay?" I asked. "Yeah, I'm fine." Nue said, scratching her head. I looked at her fist, seeing something was enclosed in it.

"Nue, what do you have in your hand?" I asked her. She hummed in confusion before looking at her enclosed fist. Her fist opened, revealing one of the bells. "A bell? Yes! I got a bell!" Nue cheered. I looked at it again and smiled.

It's like she doesn't remember what happened. "Ne, ne, Kakashi-sensei. Shouldn't we head back to the rendezvous point? The timer went off." Nue informed. "Hmm? Oh, right. Sorry." I said. Nue smiled before walking back to the rendezvous point.

I followed her. Does Nue even remember what happened back there?

Nue's POV

We got back to the rendezvous point and found Sasuke and Sakura sitting next to Naruto... who was tied to a post. I sweat dropped then ran over to him. "What happened to you?" I asked. He laughed sheepishly as a response. "Never mind." I said.

I showed him one of the bells. "You got a bell?!" Naruto said in disbelief. My hand went over his mouth to silence him. "You're too loud." I mentioned. I removed my hand from his mouth. I turned around to see Sasuke pinned to the ground by Kakashi-sensei.

Whoa, what did I miss in that short amount of time? "Get off of Sasuke! You can't step on him like he's some bug!" Sakura yelled. "I don't know, Sakura. That's actually a good look for him." I said, laughing. Kiyoshi laughed with me.

Sakura shot me a glare. I ignored it, then sat down beside Naruto. Kakashi began to tell us what the whole exercise was about. "None of you got the whole point of this exercise. The only person who did was Nue," He said.

I stared blankly ahead of me as I felt everyone's eyes on me. "Naruto, when Nue cut you down, she asked if you could help her, but you rejected her and thought you could do this yourself," Kakashi scolded. 

Naruto hung his head down, ashamed. "I'm sorry, Nue-chan." He apologized. "Don't sweat it, Naruto." I told him. "Sakura, all you cared about was Sasuke. Nue tried to help you and you rejected her as well," Kakashi continued.

"And you," He pressed his foot on Sasuke's head. "You thought you could do everything yourself. That everyone would just get in the way." Kakashi finished. That's what he did for this exercise?! What a dick!

"There's a time when we have to make decisions." Kakashi-sensei said as he took out a kunai knife. "For example. Sakura, kill Naruto now or Sasuke dies," He held the knife to Sasuke's neck.

"Nue, kill Sakura if she refuses." He finished. "Her, you can kill." I blinked when I heard that. Without knowing it, I was already taking out a kunai knife. "Nue, I was only kidding." I heard Kakashi say. I blinked and found myself holding a kunai to Sakura's neck.

I looked around and saw my team had shocked expressions on their faces. "Forget about them. Just do it. This is your chance. You know you want to kill her. Just do it. Who cares if they're watching? Get your hands dirty, Nue."

Who's talking? Is that voice in my head? I looked at Sakura and saw her body shaking. I took a couple steps back as I put my knife away. "Sorry, I don't know what came over me." I apologized. I sat back down.

"Are you okay there, kid?" Kiyoshi asked. I shook my head. When did I get to Sakura so quickly? Actually, I don't even remember moving. I was so confused.

"I'm going to give you guys another chance. You guys have thirty minutes to eat. Naruto doesn't get any since he tried to eat early." Kakashi said. I face palmed. Oh, Naruto. I looked at Kakashi and tossed the bell I had over to him.

He caught it with one hand, then vanished to who knows where as we began to eat. Well, everyone except me. I just stared down at my lunch. I didn't have much of an appetite right now. I was trying to remember how I got to Sakura so quickly.

But I couldn't. Nothing came into mind. I couldn't remember. "Don't think about it too much, Nue." Kiyoshi said. I turned my head to look at him.

"Hmm?"

"You sssshouldn't think about it too much. I'm talking about when you were in front of SSSSakura with the kunai knife in your hand."

"How did you know I was thinking about that?"

"Becausssse I could sssee it in your eyesss. You're about assss easssy to read asss a book."

I gave him a small smile, then looked at Naruto. I picked up my chopsticks and stuffed a rice ball in his mouth. "Eat up, you knucklehead." I said, smiling. He gave me a confused look, then swallowed the rice ball down his throat.

"What do you think you're doing, Nue?" Sakura demanded. "Maybe you guys will start listening to me now. If we're going to get those bells, we have to work as a team," I said as I continued to feed Naruto.

"It won't be fair if Naruto is weakened. It'll affect the rest of the group." I said. "Here." Sasuke said as he gave Naruto his food. "Here you go, Naruto." Sakura said, handing him her food as well. I gave them a closed eye smile.

Then, we were caught off guard as a huge puff of smoke appeared before us. "Uh-oh. You guyssss are in for it, now." Kiyoshi said.

"You passed." Kakashi-sensei said. "Huh? What did you say?" Sakura asked. "You. Passed." Kakashi repeated. I smiled as Naruto cheered. We began to leave, but I felt like I was forgetting something.

"Hey, you forgot to untie me!" I heard Naruto scream. Oh, crap! I did forget something! "Sorry about that, Naruto." I said as I untied him.
