Evie stood in front of the mirror, gently adjusting the soft straps of her red mehroon dress. The fabric hugged her figure in just the right wayโnot too bold, but stylish enough to make her feel confident.
There was a small, tasteful slit at the side of her leg, just enough to add a touch of elegance to the simple design. It wasn't something she usually wore, but today was special. She had chosen this dress only for one personโTaehyung.
She wanted to surprise him. She could already imagine his expression when he'd see her in it for the first time. Her heart fluttered at the thought, and she smiled shyly to herself.
Tonight was their college farewell party. It was going to last late into the night, but Evie had already decided she wouldn't be staying that long. Her plan was simpleโgo to the party, spend some time with Taehyung, and then leave early for a quiet, romantic date. Just the two of them. After everything they had been through, they deserved a peaceful night.
She picked up her phone and messaged one of her friendsโRoseโnot Mia, since Mia had already refused to come no matter how many times Evie tried to convince her. And Evie respected that decision. She didn't want to force her. So, she texted Rose instead, letting her know she was ready and asking where she was.
Rose replied quickly:
โJust about to reach the meeting point. Will see you there soon!
Evie looked at her reflection one last time, checking her hair, fixing a tiny detail near her neckline, and giving herself a soft nod. She was ready.
She picked up her phone again and called Taehyung.
The phone rang a few times before he finally picked up.
"Hello?" he said, his voice warm but a little breathless, like he was in a hurry.
Evie's lips curled into a small pout. "I'm all dressed up and ready. Where are you? Are you still getting ready?"
There was a small pause on the other side before Taehyung answered. "Ah, no... actually, I had to go somewhere with my dad. Just got done, and I'm on my way home now. I'll get ready as fast as I can and come."
Evie huffed but there was still a playful tone in her voice. "You better not be making excuses. Don't even think about ditching this."
Taehyung laughed softly. "I'm not! I swear, Evie. I'll be there. Just a little late, that's all. Go with your friend first. I'll join you soon."
"You're seriously something else, Taehyung," she said, rolling her eyes but smiling at the same time.
"I know, I know," he replied gently. "I'm sorry, okay? I didn't plan for this. But I promise I'll be there as soon as I can."
Evie's voice softened, but she still teased him. "If you don't come, I'm not going to talk to you. I mean it."
"You wouldn't do that to me," he said, chuckling. "You know I can't survive without talking to you."
Evie smiled, her heart melting a little at his words. "Fine. I'll wait for you there. Rose is already on her way, so I'll go with her now."
"Alright. I'll be there, Evie. I promise."
"Okay. See you soon," she said, before hanging up.
She looked at herself one last time in the mirror, took a deep breath, and headed outโher heart beating a little faster, already counting the minutes until she could see him.
Evie stepped out of her house, feeling a little nervous but mostly excited as she walked towards the meeting point where she and Rose had decided to meet. The night felt a little chilly, but she didn't mind because her heart was warm with the excitement of the party and, of course, the thought of seeing Taehyung soon.
A few minutes later, Rose showed up just as planned, smiling brightly and waving at her. They greeted each other and then started heading toward the farewell venue together, chatting and laughing softly along the way.
When they finally reached the party, Evie's eyes widened slightly. The whole place was glowing with lights, music playing loudly in the background, and the crowd was bigger than she expected. Even though it was a farewell party for final-year students, there were juniors there tooโsome from first and second year. But Evie didn't really care.
Everyone around them looked so dressed up and confident. The girls were wearing beautiful, glamorous outfits, and the boys looked sharp in their formal clothes, some even giving off that 'cool guy' charm.
Evie felt a little nervous at first in her red dress, but when she saw the environment, she slowly started feeling a little better and more confident about her appearance.
She and Rose walked to a corner of the party hall, standing together and just observing the people, the music, and the vibe of the place.
They chatted for a bit, laughing about small things, until suddenly Rose looked at her phone and excused herself. "I'll be back in a few minutes," she said casually. Evie nodded, thinking maybe she just needed to use the washroom or take a quick call.
Evie stood there for a while, now alone, still enjoying the loud music and watching the people dancing on the dance floor. Her eyes often wandered toward the entrance, waiting for that one person she was most excited to see tonight.....Taehyung.
She imagined how he would look when he entered, how his reaction would be when he saw her in this dress. She even blushed a little, smiling to herself like a shy teenager.
A few more minutes passed, and Evie noticed Rose coming back. She looked a little different this time, maybe slightly nervous or uneasiness but Evie didn't really think much about it. Instead, she just nodded and smiled as Rose stood beside her again.
Just then, a waiter walked up to them with a tray full of drinks. He held it out politely, and Evie smiled back, about to take one. But then she paused and said, "Oh, I don't drink alcohol."
Rose quickly stepped in and said, "It's just juice, don't worry."
Hearing that, Evie relaxed and reached for the glass again, but before she could take it, Rose picked one and took a sip first, as if to show it was really harmless. Evie smiled, feeling reassured, and picked up another glass from the tray. The waiter nodded and walked away, disappearing into the crowd.
Evie took a small sip of the drink, and it tasted a little differentโkind of fruity, kind of tangy, but definitely not like plain juice. She chuckled and looked at Rose. "This tastes funny," she said with a soft laugh.
Rose just smiled and replied casually, "Maybe it's like some energy drink or something, just ignore it."
Evie nodded, still smiling, and slowly finished the drink. She didn't feel anything strange yet, and since the taste was kind of nice, when the waiter returned again, she reached out and took another one without overthinking it.
She sipped the second glass as well, still humming softly with the music and looking around the party, wondering when Taehyung would finally show up. Her heart felt warm, her cheeks a little flushed and she didn't even know why.
Evie sat there, still holding her drink, the music thumping softly in the background. She had taken a few more sips without even realizing it. One glass turned into another, and then maybe even one more.
At first, she was just enjoying the tasteโit was sweet, tangy, and different from anything she'd had before. But now, something was changing inside her.
She blinked a few times, trying to focus, but her body felt unusually light. Her cheeks were warm, and her skin started tingling. It wasn't uncomfortableโit actually felt... good.
Too good.
Like everything around her was suddenly softer, brighter, and a little more magical. Her heart was beating faster and she felt this strange kind of heat spreading through her body, from her chest to her face, and even down to her fingertips.
She looked at Rose with slightly confused eyes, her voice soft and slow. "Hey... is this drink something else? It feels... different."
Rose glanced at her and gave a small smile, her voice calm and reassuring. "No, it's nothing serious. Some drinks just give you a boost. They make you feel more alive, energetic. Don't worry, it's harmless."
Evie nodded slowly, trusting her friend and leaned back into her chair. Her head felt light, like she could float. She looked at the crowd again, and the music now felt like it was playing inside her head, not just in the speakers. Everything felt... nicer.
Rose, meanwhile, quietly typed something on her phone, sneaking small glances at Evie from time to time, observing every tiny reaction she showed.
And thenโ
From the corner of her eye, Evie noticed a figure walking into the hall. It was like everything around her slowed down. She turned her head slowly, her gaze following the shadow approaching the party, the people almost parting around him like he owned the room.
And then she saw him.
Jungkook.
He walked in with an aura so strong that it hit her like a wave. Even in a crowded room full of good-looking people, he stood out like he was made of something different. He wore a black shirt with the sleeves casually rolled up, his black jeans fitting him perfectly. His hair was styled in a way that showed his forehead, making him look even more dangerously attractive.
A silver chain hung around his neck, catching the light. His lips were pierced, and so was his eyebrow and both glinted under the lights of the party.
Evie's breath hitched in her throat.
Her vision was a little blurry, but she could still make out his features clearlyโthose sharp eyes, that confident smirk playing on his lips. There was something about the way he walked... slow, deliberate, powerful.
She just stared at him, mouth slightly open, completely silent. Her heart started racing faster than before, but not out of fear. It was something elseโsomething deeper, something she couldn't understand in that moment.
This was the same Jungkook she hated. The same boy she had slapped, insulted, and wanted nothing to do with. But tonight, in this moment, sitting under the lights with this strange drink in her system, she felt frozen. Something about him made her want to stay quiet and just... look.
Jungkook's eyes met Rose's for a second. He leaned a little closer to her and said something in a low, calm voice that Evie couldn't hear. "Your work is done," he said quietly. Rose nodded without saying anything else.
She stood up, her expression unreadable, and looked at Jungkook one last time. There was something intense in the way she stared at himโlike admiration or maybe even awe. After all, he was famous, and every girl in college dreamed of getting his attention, even for a second.
Jungkook smirked slightly at her, and with that, Rose turned around and walked away, disappearing into the crowd.
Then he turned his full attention to Evie.
Without saying a word, he pulled a chair right next to her and sat down. He moved so smoothly, so casually, like he belonged there next to her.
Evie's throat felt dry, and she swallowed hard. Everything was spinning a little, but his presence felt like a fire lit beside her. She didn't understand what was happening. Her brain told her something was off, maybe even dangerous, but her body didn't feel afraid.
It felt... drawn to him.
Jungkook tilted his head and looked at her with that same confident smirk. His voice came out low and smooth, almost like a whisper, but strong enough to make her heart stutter.
"Hi, babygirl. What's up?"
The way he said it, the way he looked at her - it wasn't just a simple greeting. It was too intense like he had some motive behind it.
Evie blinked. She couldn't speak. She didn't know why her body was reacting like this, why she suddenly felt heat rising up her neck. All she knew was that she couldn't take her eyes off him.
She was silent. But something inside her had already started to slip.
Evie blinked slowly, her head spinning just a little more with each passing second. The music around her faded in the background, and all she could really focus on was the boy sitting so close beside her.
Jungkook.
Her lips parted as she turned to him, her voice soft, low, and slightly shaky. "W-Why...why are you here... with me?" she asked, the words coming out slowly, almost slurred.
She wasn't drunk, but her body wasn't acting like it normally did. Something felt strangeโwarm, dizzy, but not bad. It was like being wrapped in a heavy cloud of something she didn't fully understand.
Jungkook leaned in slightly, a lazy smirk tugging at his lips as he looked at her faceโher confused eyes, her flushed cheeks, the way she struggled to focus. "Why can't I talk to a babygirl?" he said smoothly, his voice deep and low, like a secret being whispered straight into her skin.
Evie's chest rose and fell slowly. She felt something inside her twistโnot out of fear, but from the heat his gaze was building in her. Her head wasn't thinking straight, and her body felt lighter than usual.
His presence, his scent, his voiceโit was all too much.
She looked away quickly, heart thudding, and tried to stand up. She needed space. She needed air. But before she could take a step, Jungkook's hand reached out and gentlyโbut firmlyโpulled her back down into the chair.
"Not so fast, babygirl," he said quietly.
Evie's breath caught as she found herself seated again, her body obeying him before her mind even caught up. He shifted his chair even closer, their knees nearly touching now. Her heart skipped a beat.
He leaned in just a bit more, close enough that she could feel the warmth of his breath near her cheek. "Why are you always like this with me, huh?" he asked, his tone softer now but edged with something deeperโsomething darker. "Why do you always act like you hate me?"
She turned her head, refusing to meet his eyes, but he wasn't having it. Jungkook reached out with two fingers and gently lifted her chin, forcing her to look at him. His touch was soft, but there was power behind it. His gaze locked onto hers.
"Look at me," he whispered.
Her lips trembled slightly. She didn't want to give in, but her body wasn't cooperating anymore. Her heart was pounding, and her skin burned under his stare.
Jungkook's smirk deepened as he leaned closer-too close now. "You've got that fire in you... even now. But I wonder," he whispered, his breath brushing her skin, "how long can you hold on to it?"
His words were bold. Wild.
Not the teasing kind of flirting, but the kind that made her breath quicken and her knees weak. His voice was confident, dark, and laced with something unspokenโsomething dangerous.
And still, a part of her didn't pull away.
Evie's eyes fluttered shut for a moment. Her body felt hot, her heart racing. She felt like she was floating, and not in a normal way. There was something in that drink. She knew it now. Whatever it was, it was inside her, taking over her senses.
And Jungkook knew it too.
He sat back just a little, watching her with a victorious glint in his eyes. He knew exactly what was happening.
The drink had been planned.
He had asked for it.
And Roseโher own friendโhad helped.
Jungkook watched her closely, studying her every reaction like she was a painting coming to life. Her half-closed eyes. The way she leaned slightly toward him without realizing it. The way her lips parted like she was about to speak but couldn't find the words.
She looked so innocent. So unaware of the trap she'd walked into.
And he was enjoying every second.
Jungkook reached out gently, brushing a soft strand of hair away from Evie's face.
Her eyes fluttered shut at his touch. She didn't mean to let it happen but her body wasn't listening to her mind anymore. Everything felt too warm, too heavy, too unreal. Her thoughts were slow, her breathing uneven. She needed to walk away. She knew she needed to.
With whatever little control she had left, Evie slowly pushed against his chest - not roughly, just enough to move. Her legs wobbled as she stood and stepped past him. But before she could get too far, her ankle twisted slightly and her balance gave out.
In one quick motion, Jungkook caught her. His arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her firmly against him.
"Why are you running?" he asked softly, his voice right beside her ear. "I'm not gonna hurt you, baby. Just... close your eyes. Feel it."
The music pulsed around them, the bass vibrating through the floor.
Before she could reply, his arms moved lower and wrapped around her waist from behind, pulling her into a back hug.
Her breath hitched.
"Let me guide you," he whispered, and began walking her gently toward the dance floor.
His hands stayed on her hips, his body pressed close behind hers, guiding her step by step.
Evie felt like she was floating. Her mind was spinning, but his touch grounded her. His scent surrounded herโclean, musky, dangerous.
"Just close your eyes," Jungkook said again, his lips brushing the shell of her ear. "Get lost in it. In me."
His voice was low and raspyโso full of control it made her legs weak.
As they reached the center of the floor, his hands gripped her hips and moved with the music, slowly guiding her rhythm. Her body followed without resistance.
She didn't even realize when her head leaned back slightly, resting on his shoulder. It felt naturalโtoo natural.
Her eyes slipped shut.
It was too muchโtoo hot, too intimate.
Her skin burned where he touched her. Her heartbeat was everywhereโher throat, her chest, her stomach.
And thenโher fingers found his. Without thinking, she reached back and held onto his hands that were still resting firmly on her waist.
She gripped them tightly.
Pulled them closer.
Pulled him closer.
Now, she could feel himโevery inch of him behind her.
Jungkook's breath caught. He let out a quiet curse under his breath, barely audible. "Fuck..." he murmured. "You have no idea what you're doing to me right now."
His voice wasn't playful. It was rough. Honest. Full of hunger.
Evie didn't say anything. Her mind was gone, lost somewhere between the music, the drug in her blood, and the way his touch made her feel.
He leaned in again, his lips brushing the skin just below her ear. "You feel that?" he whispered, pressing closer. "That's what you do to me... without even trying."
His fingers tightened slightly on her waist, pulling her impossibly closer.
She didn't move away. She didn't want to.
And he knew.
Jungkook's fingers gently slid up her arm, and then, slowly... deliberately... he leaned in. His warm lips brushed against the sensitive skin of her neckโslow and sensual.
A soft, feather-light kiss.
Just enough to make her breath hitch. Her lashes fluttered, her body reacting before her mind could catch up. Her head tilted slightly, giving him more access without even realizing what she was doing.
"Where's your pretty little boyfriend, huh?" he whispered against her skin, his voice deep and low, his breath warm as it fanned across her neck.
Evie stirred at the sound, her words slurred, her head foggy as she shook it slowly. "H-He didn't... he d..didn't come yet..."
Jungkook pulled back just a little, enough to smirk at her response. He clicked his tongue, shaking his head like he was genuinely disappointed.
"What a damn shame," he murmured, his lips brushing the shell of her ear now, deliberately slow, like a tease. "How can he be so careless, baby? Leaving someone like you alone in a place like this? Fuck... he doesn't even know what he's missing."
Evie barely managed a response, something like, "He's coming... he was about to..."
But Jungkook wasn't done. His voice dipped lower, more dangerousโyet smooth like honey, pouring into her ears and wrapping around her senses.
"You know what I think?" he whispered, each word soft but sharp, "What if he walks in right now... and sees you like this, pressed up against me... flushed, high, holding onto me like you need me?"
Her entire body stiffened. A flicker of fear or awareness tried to rise but it drowned under the thick haze of intoxication and heat. She couldn't think straight. Everything felt like a dream.
Jungkook gently turned her around to face him. She stumbled slightly, her balance off, her eyes glassy and unfocused. Her lips were parted, her breathing shallow, and her cheeks painted with a deep flush. He looked at her and let out a low chuckle, eyes dark with mischief and satisfaction.
"Damn, look at you..." he murmured, one arm snaking around her waist and yanking her closer until there was no space left between them. "So drunk... so fucking pretty. You're completely gone, aren't you, babygirl?"
Her hands instinctively clutched his shirt, trying to ground herself. Her fingers fisted the fabric tightly, like he was the only thing keeping her standing.
"Don't worry," Jungkook said, his voice like velvet, slow and dangerous. "Not while I'm here. Just forget everything else... and lose yourself in me."
Evie couldn't hold herself up anymore. Her body leaned forward, giving in completely. She buried her face into the crook of his neck, inhaling the deep, addictive scent of his cologne. Her lips brushed his skin accidentally, and he let out a low groan from the sudden sensation, chuckling softly at how easily she melted into him.
"Fuck, you smell so good, baby," he whispered, one hand stroking her back, the other still holding her tightly by the waist. Her hands went limp, then tightened again around him, as if she couldn't bear to let go.
He looked over her shoulder then, his eyes locking onto the entrance. A devilish smirk crept across his lips as he kept holding her, feeling her body surrender completely to him.
'Come on, Taehyung,' he thought darkly, eyes burning with anticipation. 'You're just in time for your surprise.'
Everything was going exactly how he planned.
And Evie... Evie had no idea what storm was coming.
