It had been months since that chaotic incident between Taehyung, Jungkook, and Evie, and now the semester was finally coming to an end. The atmosphere around college had shifted.
With final exams just a few days away, every student was buried in books, assignments, and last-minute preparations. Even the usual gossip and drama that once echoed through the halls had taken a backseat as everyone focused on clearing the semester.
Evie and Taehyung, too, were caught up in the rush, but beneath all the stress and sleepless nights, there was a sense of happiness and excitement in their hearts.
They were looking forward to something bigger than just the semester endingโthey were waiting for the moment they could finally breathe freely, to be together openly, without hiding their love behind library walls or quiet messages.
Their plan was clear. Once the exams were over and things settled down, Evie would tell her father about Taehyung. They both knew it wouldn't be easyโevery father is protective when it comes to his daughter but they also believed that honesty and love could make even the hardest conversations worth it.
Taehyung didn't have a lot of people around him anymore. Once, he had a whole group of friends, and most importantly, he had Jungkook his childhood friend.
But after everything that happened, after the way things fell apart between them, he was left with only a few good friends and Evie. She became his world, his peace, and his reason to keep going. And surprisingly, the college that once buzzed with whispers and drama had grown quiet. The rumors about the fight between Jungkook and Taehyung, and the slap Evie gave Jungkook in front of so many studentsโthose stories slowly faded into the background.
It was almost as if people had forgotten. Or maybe... they were made to forget.
Because Jungkook, with his power, and ability to control everything around him, made sure that those rumors didn't live too long. He couldn't stand the idea of people laughing behind his back, whispering about how a 'new girl' slapped Jeon Jungkook, the most admired, most feared guy in the whole college.
For someone like him, it wasn't just a slap. It wasn't just public humiliation. It was a direct attack on his pride, on the image he had built for years. And when it comes to pride, Jungkook wasn't the type to forgive. He could tolerate a lot of things - but not this.
He stayed quiet, yes.
He didn't confront Evie again. He didn't cross Taehyung's path, either. He acted like nothing ever happened.
But deep inside, he was planning. He was thinking. He was waiting for the right moment, and when it cameโhe would strike in a way they'd never see coming.
Because to him, this wasn't just about revenge. It was about showing them who he really was.
People could call him crazy, or toxic, or dangerous and maybe he was all of those thingsโbut one thing was certain: Jungkook never lets anyone walk away after crossing him.
Not without paying the price.
Taehyung had once been his closest friend. They shared everythingโmemories, laughter, fights and yet, when it came down to it, Taehyung didn't even hesitate.
He stood against Jungkook.
All because of a girl.
A girl he barely even knew.
And that humiliation? That cut deeper than anything.
So no, Jungkook wasn't going to let him walk away like nothing happened. Maybe not as brutal as what he planned for Evie, but Taehyung would feel the consequences too. He would be reminded that crossing Jungkookโchoosing someone else over him was a mistake he'd regret.
And Evie? Oh, she was going to pay the highest price.
In Jungkook's eyes, she was nothing more than a desperate, attention-seeking, middle-class gold digger who destroyed his friendship, made Taehyung turn against him, and worst of allโshe humiliated him. In public. In front of everyone.
That slap may have lasted a second, but the sting stayed with him. It burned him. It haunted him.
So now, Jungkook had made up his mind. He wouldn't shout or make a scene. That's not how he worked. He would ruin her slowly. Quietly. Piece by piece.
He would break her in ways she never thought possibleโuntil one day, she would look in the mirror and not even recognize herself. Until she would fall to her knees and beg him to stop.
And maybe, just maybe... even then, he wouldn't.
Because when it comes to pride, to revenge, and to Jungkook's twisted sense of justiceโthere's no such thing as enough.
Jungkook wasn't the kind of man who forgave easily. Noโhe was the kind of man who remembered. Who held onto every word, every insult, every look of defiance he was saving for the perfect moment.
And now, with the semester coming to a close, and the degrees almost in their hands, he couldn't help but smileโa cruel, cold, twisted smile. Because their end was near. And they had no idea.
To the outside world, he looked calm. Focused. Even distant, as if he had moved on. But inside? He was burning. Not with sadness, not with heartbreakโhe was burning with rage.
A fury that had turned into something darker... something sadistic. He couldn't rest, couldn't breathe, not until he ruined them both. Until he ripped away their smiles and crushed the love they dared to build after wounding his pride and walking away so carelessly.
They were living like everything was fine. Like nothing had ever happened. Like they hadn't humiliated him, destroyed his image, broken the bond that had existed between brothers.
They were walking around hand-in-hand, smiling, loving, livingโwhile he was planning every second of their downfall. And the more he saw them happy, the more it fueled the monster inside him.
Yes, let them laugh.
Let them kiss in empty classrooms and steal sweet touches behind the library shelves.
Let them go on their little mini dates and giggle like they had the world at their feet.
Let them plan their future, talk about careers, about jobs, about building something stable and beautiful together.
Let them feel lucky. Let them believe they made it.
Because Jungkook knew something they didn't.
He had already decided how it would all end.
And it wouldn't be peaceful.
He was going to give them a gift.
A farewell surpriseโon the very day they were meant to celebrate the end of their college journey.
A day meant for laughter, closure, and new beginnings. For them, it would turn into something unforgettable. Something they would never heal from. Something they would carry in the deepest parts of their soul forever.
And that thought? That delicious, wicked thoughtโit excited him. He could barely contain the anticipation.
Just a few more days.
Just let them taste that happiness a little longer. The fall hurts more when you're standing high, doesn't it?
They wouldn't see it coming.
Not Evie, with her soft eyes and sweet voice.
Not Taehyung, with his calm heart and dreams of a simple future.
They were too busy being in love, too busy building something fragile and warm, never realizing that a storm was already on its way. That someone was watching. Waiting. Planning.
And that someone... was no longer human.
Jungkook had become a devil dressed in the skin of a man.
And devils never forget.

The sun had already dipped halfway below the horizon. A light breeze fluttered the pages of their open notebooks, but Taehyung and Evie didn't move from their spot on the floor, backs resting against the couch, surrounded by books, highlighters, and half-empty coffee mugs.
It was the final stretchโjust one more exam left.
Taehyung was flipping through his notes like he was born to do this. He looked calm and focused, tapping his pen against his lips as he doing a complicated formula. Meanwhile, Evie had her cheek pressed against her arm, blinking slowly at the same question she'd been staring at for the past ten minutes.
"I'm done," she mumbled dramatically, her voice muffled. "My brain has stopped working."
Taehyung looked at her and chuckled softly, shaking his head. "Come on, sweet, you've got this. It's the last day. One final push and we're done. Then you can sleep for a week, I promise."
Evie groaned, sitting up straight. "You said that yesterday too."
He gave her an innocent smile. "Because I knew you'd try to back out today."
"I'm not backing out," she said, waving her pen lazily. "I'm dying. There's a difference."
Taehyung leaned over, brushing his fingers lightly over her arm, and said teasingly, "Don't be dramatic. You used to love studying."
"I used to love science," she said, rolling her eyes. "In school, I felt like a genius in science class. If I knew how brutal it would get in college, I swear I would've taken up... I don't know... baking."
He burst into laughter, the sound echoing in the quiet room. "You're not that bad. You've been doing great."
She narrowed her eyes playfully. "That's because you're basically a human computer. You're the topper, Taehyung. Some of us have human limits."
He leaned in, nudging her shoulder gently. "One more day, Evie. Then we'll be free. No more notes, no more exams, just us and all the time in the world."
Evie sighed dramatically but smiled anyway. "Okay, fine. But this is the last time. I swear I'm never touching a textbook again after tomorrow. If anyone asks me anything remotely scientific after this, I'm pretending I don't know how to hear."
Taehyung laughed again, his eyes crinkling in that way she loved. "Deal. One last night of suffering. Then freedom."
She shook her head with a small grin. "You better keep your word, Kim. If not then I won't be taking to you."
He leaned over and kissed her temple softly. "Whatever you say, trouble."
They both returned to their books, shoulders touching, the soft sound of pages turning mixing with the rustling wind outside.
As they continued studying, quietly flipping pages and scribbling down notes, Evie suddenly looked up from her notebook, her expression thoughtful.
"Taehyung," she said, pulling her knees up and hugging them, "I heard something today... apparently, there's going to be a farewell party soon."
He glanced at her, curious. "You mean the official college farewell?"
"No," she shook her head quickly, a small spark of excitement lighting up her face, "this one's different. It's not organized by the college. It's something just for students. Like an unofficial celebration. My friends told me about itโthey said it's going to be really fun, something big and totally different from the usual college stuff."
Taehyung raised an eyebrow. "Hmm... sounds like something you'd usually skip."
Evie chuckled. "Yeah, that's the thing. Normally, I wouldn't even think twice before saying no. But my friends have been insisting like crazy. They've hyped it up so much that now I'm kind of... curious. I want to see what it's all about."
"Well, then you should go," Taehyung said, casually returning to his notes. "It's your last chance before college ends."
Evie tilted her head, narrowing her eyes at him. "What do you mean you should go? I'm not going without you. I already told them that. I'm not stepping there if you're not with me."
Taehyung looked amused but hesitant. "Evie, you know I'm not into these party scenes. I usually avoid stuff like that."
"I know," she said quickly, scooting closer to him. "But come on, just this once? Please? It'll be something different, something fun. You're always so serious... always in study mode, or planning everything perfectly. Let's break the pattern. One night. One party. Then I promise I'll follow your lead for whatever comes next."
Taehyung looked at her, her big pleading eyes and hopeful smile, and sighed with a soft smile of his own. "You're impossible to say no to, you know that?"
"Is that a yes?" she asked, leaning toward him.
He let out a small laugh and nodded. "Alright, fine. I'll go with you."
Evie beamed. "Good! And after that, we'll do whatever you want. No complaints from me. No pretending I have to rush home because Dad's waiting or making excuses to leave early. That whole night... it'll be yours. Just us."
Taehyung looked at her for a moment, warmth spreading across his face as he tucked a loose strand of her hair behind her ear.
"I'll hold you to that," he said softly.
Evie smiled, her heart full. Little did they know that while they were making sweet plans for a night of fun and freedom, someone else was watching, waiting to twist that happiness into something unforgettable-for all the wrong reasons
โ
The moment the bell rang, signaling the end of their final exam, a wave of relief washed over Evie. She let out a long sigh and stretched her arms, a soft yawn escaping her lips. Her body felt heavy, but her heart was lightโfinally, it was over.
The stress, the all-nighters, the endless pages of notes... done. Students poured out of the examination halls, chatting loudly and hugging each other, celebrating the end of their college days.
Evie, however, had only one thing on her mind: Taehyung.
Even though they were in the same batch, their seating arrangements had been differentโhe was in another hall. She scanned the crowd, eager to find him, her heart fluttering at the thought of seeing him and sharing the moment together.
She pushed through the crowd gently, smiling to herself, already imagining how Taehyung would tease her about finally being done with exams.
Lost in her thoughts, Evie wasn't paying attention to where she was walking and before she could react, she crashed into someone hard.
Books flew out of the girl's hands and scattered across the floor. Evie gasped and immediately bent down to help, flustered.
"I'm so sorry!" she said quickly, picking up the books. As she looked up, her eyes met the girl's face... and her heart sank a little.
Raven.
The name echoed in her head. The same Raven Mia had warned her about. Jungkook's... side girl. The one everyone whispered aboutโthe queen of college.
Evie hesitated, holding the books tightly, expecting Raven to explode. She could already feel the tension in the air, bracing herself to quietly slip away before things turned ugly.
But to her surprise, Raven didn't say anything. Instead, she smiled.
A slow, unsettling smile.
She gracefully took the books from Evie's hands, her fingers brushing against hers.
"You're Evie Parker, right?" Raven asked, her voice sugary sweet but with an edge that made Evie's skin crawl.
Evie blinked, confused. "Um... yeah?" she replied cautiously.
It was strange. She had never spoken to Raven beforeโnever even shared a class with her. Why would someone like her know her name?
Raven seemed to read the confusion on her face, and she let out a soft, amused chuckle.
"You must be wondering how I know you," she said, tucking her hair behind her ear. "After all, you're kind of new here. And I don't usually pay attention to... simple girls."
Evie stayed silent, unsure of where this conversation was going.
"But you," Raven continued, tilting her head, "you've become quite the name around here. Honestly, it's impressive. I never thought someone so quiet, so plain, could turn out to be so... bold."
Her smile widened, and there was a glint in her eyes that didn't feel friendly.
"Everyone knows what happened with you and Jungkook," Raven said, her tone still light, as if she were gossiping. "You've got guts, I'll give you that. Not every girl dares to slap him and humiliate him and walk away like you did."
Evie's chest tightened. She didn't know what to say. The way Raven spokeโlike she was amused but also watching her closelyโfelt wrong.
Raven held the books in her hands for a moment longer, as if she wasn't done with the conversation yet. Her eyes scanned Evie, from head to toe, slowly, like she was studying herโjudging her silently behind that fake smile.
"Oh, and I also heard..." she said, her voice light, almost like she was gossiping with a friend, "that you and Taehyung are a thing now?"
Evie blinked, a little caught off guard. She didn't expect Raven to bring him into this.
Raven continued before Evie could even respond. "You know, it's kind of... surprising," she said with a faint chuckle. " Taehyung used to be close with our group back then. We were all kind of friends. Honestly, no one ever thought he'd be the type to get into a relationship, especially with someone like you."
The way she said it wasn't exactly insulting, but it definitely didn't feel like a compliment either.
Evie felt something shift in her chest. A tiny sting, a quiet warning. She rememberedโclearlyโone of her early days in college. She had seen Raven talking or we can say flirting with Taehyung in the hallway. She hadn't thought much of it at the time. Taehyung had never mentioned her, and she never asked.
But now, standing in front of her, the way Raven spoke... it made Evie feel uneasy.
Raven tilted her head, smiling with that same fake sweetness. "Taehyung always used to say that relationships are useless. He even ditched me a few timesโand others tooโjust because he said it's all pointless. He never really gave any girl attention, you know? But now..." She glanced at Evie with a raised brow. "Now he's all serious about you?"
She gave a soft laugh, but there was something cold beneath it.
"I mean, no offense," Raven added casually, "but it's hard to imagine him falling for someone like you. You seem... very simple. Not really his type."
Evie's hands clenched slightly, but she kept her face calm. The fake politeness, the indirect digs, the way Raven acted like she was just chatting casuallyโit was all so transparent. And Evie wasn't going to let her get under her skin.
She looked at Raven and gave a small, polite smile.
"Well, I guess people change," Evie said softly. "And it would be nice if everyone minded their own business instead of digging into other people's lives. Not everyone has this free time to talk about others."
Raven's smile faltered, just a little. But Evie didn't wait for her to reply. She simply turned around and walked away, her back straight, her pace calm, but her heart a little heavy.
She could feel Raven's eyes on her, but she didn't look back.
As Evie disappeared into the crowd, Raven scoffed under her breath, her expression turning darker.
"She's really a bitch," she muttered to herself, her voice filled with spite. "Just like Jungkook said."
Her nails dug into the book she was still holding as her lips curled into a amusing smirk.
But it's okay she know exactly how to deal with girls like her. This is just the beginning. She'll regret messing with her.
And Taehyung? After ignoring and humiliating Raven so many times... now running after a girl like her?
She laughed mockingly.
Pathetic.
