Days turned into weeks, and soon months passed since that last tense encounter between Evie and Jungkook. Ever since that day, Evie had stopped skipping college.
She still felt scared deep inside, always watching her back, nervous about when Jungkook might show up or do something. But after their last talk, he never did. He didn't talk to her, didn't try to corner her again. He didn't even cross her path once.
Still, she saw him often from a distance. Jungkook was like a king in collegeโeveryone noticed him when he walked by. His presence was impossible to ignore. He was popular, arrogant, always surrounded by people. But Evie always kept her distance. She avoided the corridors he walked through, stayed away from events he attended, and made sure to never be alone in any corner.
All she wanted was to finish her last few months peacefully and leave college for good.
During this time, she mostly stuck with Taehyung and her close friend Mia. Taehyung became her shadow. He was always by her side, never letting her feel alone or unsafe. He talked to her gently, made her laugh even when she felt scared, and always knew how to calm her down. Their bond had grown so much deeper, especially after the night they became intimate.
That night had changed everything. It wasn't just about lust or attraction - it was about love, trust, and a desperate need to feel safe with each other. They had given themselves to each other fully, losing their virginity together in a moment of pure closeness.
It was shy, a little awkward at first, but it was beautiful in its own way. They held each other tightly, learning each other's bodies slowly and carefully. Evie had never felt so vulnerable yet so protected.
Taehyung made sure she was okay every second. He didn't rush anything. He kissed her neck, whispered her name gently, and moved slowly, making her feel loved, not just wanted.
After that night, their relationship grew stronger. They became more open, more comfortable. Sometimes, they would sneak kisses in empty classrooms or hide in the back of the library just to hold each other for a while. And when the mood struck, they would get lost in each other againโstill shy, still blushing, but unable to resist. Each time they touched, it felt more natural, more addictive. They craved each otherโnot just physically but emotionally too.
But even during these happy moments, Taehyung stayed alert. He knew Jungkook too well to feel safe. Jungkook might be quiet now, but Taehyung didn't believe for a second that he had let go of Evie. He was arrogant and egoistic by nature, and once he laid a claim on somethingโor someoneโhe never gave up so easily.
Taehyung had seen it before. Girls who swore they were in love with their boyfriends would leave them in a heartbeat the moment Jungkook showed a little attention. It didn't matter how decent or loyal they wereโJungkook always found a way to get what he wanted. He played dirty, and he played smart. That's why Taehyung never relaxed, even for a second.
He trusted Evie completelyโhe knew she wasn't like the other girls. But he didn't trust Jungkook. Not after what he saw in college all these years. Jungkook didn't take rejection well, and if he ever decided to make a move again, it could destroy everything.
Taehyung's only goal now was to finish the last month of college with Evie, graduate with her, and get her away from this place forever. Once they were out of college, he planned to date her openly, seriously, without hiding. He wanted her to be his, without fear, without Jungkook's shadow haunting them.
But deep inside, they both knew one thingโthe silence from Jungkook wasn't peace. It was the calm before the storm.

The soft yellow light of Evie's bedroom lamp glowed warmly across the room. Her books were open in front of her, notes scattered everywhere on the bed and floor. Taehyung sat cross-legged beside her, fully focused, flipping through a textbook as he scribbled something onto a notepad. The room was quiet except for the soft sound of a pen scratching against paper and the occasional turn of a page.
Evie, on the other hand, was anything but focused.
She had tried, reallyโten whole minutes of pretending to concentrate, nodding along while Taehyung explained some boring theory but now her brain felt like mush. She dropped her pen dramatically, leaned back against the wall, and let out a deep sigh.
"Taehyung,". she mumbled, turning her head toward him with a pout. "No more study. Please."
Taehyung glanced up from the book, trying not to smile. "Evie," he said in that calm, slightly teasing voice, "you haven't even studied for thirty minutes."
"I have," she argued weakly, resting her cheek on the table in front of her. "In my head.
He laughed under his breath, shaking his head. "You're hopeless."
Evie didn't move. She just let her face stay buried against the surface of the table like she was surrendering. Her arms dangled lazily by her sides, and she peeked up at him with one eye. "Just a five-minute break. I promise."
Taehyung smiled at her soft expressionโshe looked so small like that, tired and adorable. Without a word, he reached out and gently ran his fingers through her hair. His touch was slow and soft, carefully brushing her strands back as if he was trying not to wake her.
Evie closed her eyes immediately, exhaling a relaxed breath like she'd been waiting for this all day. "Mmm... that feels really good."
Taehyung kept his hand moving through her hair, his thumb occasionally brushing her temple. He watched her face soften as she melted under his touch. A chuckle escaped his lips.
"You didn't even do anything today. How are you this tired?"
"Mentally exhausted," she muttered with her eyes still closed, lips barely moving. "You're making me sleepier now."
He leaned down a little and pressed a gentle kiss to her cheek. "You're unbelievable ."
"Keep doing it," she whispered, not even bothering to open her eyes. "It helps my brain recharge."
Taehyung smile but didn't stop. "Your dad actually thought I came here for group study," he said, amused. "If he walked in and saw you like this, he'd have a heart attack."
Evie cracked one eye open and gave him a sleepy smile. "He won't come. He always knocks first... and besides, I know him. He respects boundaries."
Taehyung nodded, still stroking her hair softly. "Boundaries, huh?" His tone was light, but the air between them was slowly shiftingโbecoming warmer, more intimate.
Evie didn't respond this time. She just smiled lazily and closed her eyes again, completely trusting, completely comfortable with him like this. The tension of the past few months, the stress from college, the fear of Jungkookโit all melted away when Taehyung touched her like this. In that quiet little bubble of hers, everything felt safe.
Taehyung watched her for a few seconds, fingers still tangled in her soft hair, his heart fluttering a little just from the sight of her so at peace.
Taehyung kept stroking Evie's hair gently, his fingers brushing over her scalp in slow motions that made her body feel light and heavy at the same time. Her eyes were closed, her breathing soft, and the tiniest smile lingered on her lips. She looked like she could fall asleep just like that, with his touch easing every part of her.
He leaned in again, this time pressing a softer, longer kiss to her cheekโjust because she looked so peaceful, so sweet. But as soon as his lips touched her skin, Evie suddenly turned her head a little, and without meaning to, his lips brushed hers.
For a moment, they both stilled.
It was so softโbarely even a kissโbut it made her eyes flutter open.
Evie looked at him and Taehyung was already staring down at her, his face just inches from hers. Her smile grew, slow and a little shy but her eyes didn't pull away from his.
"You're supposed to be teaching me, not kissing me," she whispered, her voice playful but soft.
He gave a low chuckle, still close, not moving away. "You're the one who turned your head. Don't blame me."
Evie giggled softly and didn't deny it. Her eyes dropped to his lips for a second, then back up, and Taehyung leaned in again and kissed her - this time properly. His lips moved against hers gently at first, like he was still holding back, still reminding himself they were supposed to be studying. But she didn't pull away, and he couldn't stop.
He kissed her deeper, his hand cradling her jaw now, thumb resting right under her ear. Evie kissed him back without hesitation, leaning up just enough to get closer. Her fingers gripped the edge of his hoodie, pulling him a little more toward her as their breaths mixed between soft kisses.
In the middle of it, he murmured against her lips, "Evieโฆ your dad's still in the house."
Evie opened her eyes slightly, catching her breath, and said quietly, "He won't come. I told you. He never comes in without knocking."
Taehyung looked at her, like he was trying to stay in control, but the way she looked right now - flushed, eyes slightly dazed, lips red from his kiss- made that almost impossible.
"You're really something else," he said with a small grin, brushing her hair back from her face.
Evie bit her lip and tugged on his hoodie again. "Please, Taehyung," she whispered, her voice soft but clear.
He stared at her for a second longer, like he was silently asking if she was sure. But when she nodded gently, giving him that look that made his heart race, he leaned in againโthis time not to kiss her softly, but to take his time.
His lips moved down to her neck, slow and warm, and her breath caught in her throat as her hands slid up his chest. He could feel her heart pounding just as fast as his, and in that quiet bedroom filled with books, half-finished notes, and a glowing lampโeverything else started to fade away.
Taehyung kissed her again, slower this time, more intentional. There was no rush between them, no wordsโjust the quiet understanding that they both wanted this, needed this. His hands gently cupped her face, and Evie leaned into his touch, her own arms circling his waist as their bodies pressed closer.
One kiss turned into another, and soon they were no longer sitting. The books and notes lay forgotten on the floor as they shifted onto the bed, wrapped up in each other. The air in the room felt warmer, heavier, filled with the soft sounds of lips brushing, quiet breaths, and hearts pounding too loud.
Bit by bit, their clothes were peeled away, discarded somewhere around the room like none of it mattered anymore. Under the dim light of the study lamp, their bare bodies tangled together on the bed, skin against skin, warmth shared without a single word.
Taehyung held both of her hands above her head, his fingers laced through hers, keeping her steady as he moved with her in slow, synced motions. Evie arched softly beneath him, her lips parted in quiet gasps, her eyes half-lidded, completely lost in the moment. His face was buried in the crook of her neck, his breath hot against her shoulder as he tried not to make a sound.
They both knew her father was just down the hallway, but it didn't stop them. They moved together gently, trying to stay quiet, but their bodies had a language of their own. It wasn't rushedโit was slow, deep, and filled with something that felt far more than just physical.
There was no talking. Just touches, sighs, and shared glances that said everything.
When it was over, Taehyung kissed her forehead, still out of breath, and rested beside her. Their fingers stayed locked, legs tangled beneath the covers, both of them quietly holding each other like the rest of the world didn't exist.
Taehyung and Evie lay tangled under the sheets, the warmth of their bare bodies pressed close, skin to skin, their hearts still racing in sync. The air around them was filled with a strange calm - the kind that only comes after something deeply emotional and intimate. Neither of them spoke for a while, just held onto each other in silence, sharing the moment like a secret no one else could understand.
Evie rested her cheek on Taehyung's chest, her fingers drawing lazy lines on his skin. His arms wrapped around her tightly, protectively, and his hand gently moved up and down her back, caressing her slowly as if trying to calm her down - even though he hadn't been rough at all. Still, it was in his nature to be soft with her. Always gentle. Always careful. Like she was something fragile and precious.
He pressed a kiss on her forehead, lingering there for a second longer than usual. Then he tilted his head down a little to look at her face.
"Are you okay?" he asked quietly, his voice barely above a whisper. "Did I hurt you?"
Evie looked up, her eyes soft and glassy, and she gave him a small, reassuring smile. "No," she whispered, then leaned up and kissed his lips softly, her hand gently resting on his cheek. "You were perfect."
They smiled at each other again, that sweet kind of smile that only lovers share. They stayed like that for a while, just looking at each other, their foreheads almost touching, breaths mixing in the tiny space between them.
Taehyung's expression turned a little serious, but still calm. His thumb brushed over her cheek slowly, lovingly. "Can I ask you something?" he said softly.
"Hmm?" she mumbled, her fingers now playing with the ends of his hair.
He hesitated, his eyes flickering away for a second before locking back onto hers. "Are you really serious about me, Evie?" His tone was still gentle, playful even, but underneath, there was a quiet vulnerability in his voice. "Likeโฆ really serious? You see us togetherโฆ long term?"
Evie blinked, slightly surprised by the sudden question. "Of course I am," she said almost immediately.
But Taehyung gave a small, nervous chuckle, as if trying to brush off the weight of what he was saying. "I justโฆ I don't know," he admitted, his voice a little more fragile now. "What if someday you meet someone better than me? Someone more successful, more charmingโฆ I mean, look at this world, right? People leave for less."
Evie sat up slightly, just enough to look directly into his eyes. "Tae," she said softly, cupping his face, "why would you even say that?"
He gave a small shrug. "I guess... sometimes that makes me scared," he confessed with a breathy laugh, trying to sound casual, but Evie could hear the sincerity underneath. "I know how people are. I've seen it too many times. I've seen girls leave guys who loved them just because someone more perfect came along. I just want to know you won't be like that."
Evie's expression softened even more. She leaned in, resting her forehead against his. "Tae, I want this forever," she said firmly, her voice quiet but full of certainty. "I want you forever. I don't care about better or perfect. I care about you. Only you."
His arms wrapped tighter around her again, pulling her closer, as if he was finally able to breathe.
"And once college is done," she added, her voice turning a little more excited, "I'll tell my dad about us. I mean it. I've been thinking about it for a while. I know he'll support me. He likes you already. You're kind and respectful. He just needs to know how much you mean to me."
Taehyung looked at her, the relief and happiness slowly spreading across his face. "You'd really tell him?"
She nodded. "Yeah. I'm done hiding. After this, I want us to be real. Fully."
He smiled so widely, it made her heart flutter. Then he leaned in and kissed her again, slow and deep. One kiss turned into another, and just like that, the room warmed again.
Their bodies moved closer under the sheets, and it didn't take long before they were tangled once more, lips meeting again with that same hunger as earlierโbut this time, it felt deeper, more meaningful. This time, it wasn't just passionโit was reassurance, it was love, it was a promise sealed with touch.
As Taehyung kissed down her neck, he whispered something so soft, it almost got lost in the air.
"I love you," he said.
It was the first time he said it.
Evie stilled for a second, her heart skipping.
And then she smiled, brushing his hair back gently. "I love you too," she whispered back, pressing her lips against his again.
And just like that, they disappeared into each other once moreโquietly, slowly, completely.

The parking lot just outside the cafe across from the college was nearly empty, with the late afternoon sun casting golden rays across the hood of Jungkook's black car.
He leaned against the side of it, hands in his pockets, jaw tight, his usual cocky smirk nowhere to be seen. His eyes were fixed on the street ahead, waitingโnot impatiently, but with that controlled calm he was known for.
He looked sharp, dressed casually but with just enough effort to catch attention. He wasn't in the mood for games today, but if anyone could lift his energy back up, it was her.
Then, as if on cue, he heard the clicking of heels.
He turned his head slightly, and there she was -
Raven Sterling.
She always made an entrance, like she knew the world paused for her. Dressed in a fitted, short black dress that hugged her curves and swayed with every confident step, her hair loose around her shoulders, and those signature red lips curled into a smirk. She walked toward him like she owned the pavement beneath her, her eyes locked on his like she already knew what he wanted.
"Well, wellโฆ" Raven said, voice smooth and teasing as she stopped in front of him, tilting her head slightly. "Jeon Jungkook waiting for me? That's rare."
Jungkook let his eyes linger over her body - he didn't even try to hide it. And she noticed, of course. That was part of the thrill. He chuckled under his breath and leaned off the car, arms crossing over his chest. "You look good," he said casually, eyes meeting hers again. "Not that I'm surprised."
Raven let out a low laugh, biting her bottom lip playfully. "I always do. But thank you." Her eyes sparkled as she took a step closer. "You call me out here just to compliment me?"
"No," Jungkook said smoothly, gaze narrowing just slightly, his tone shifting into something a little more serious. "I need your help with something."
That got her attention. Her brows lifted, and she let out a mock gasp. "Help? From me?" She placed a hand dramatically over her chest, teasing him. "Now that's bigโcoming from you."
He smirked, amused. "Don't get used to it."
She tilted her head again, playful and curious. "Alright then, pretty boy. What kind of help are we talking about?"
Jungkook leaned in a little, lowering his voice. "I need you to remind someone of their place. Knock them down a little. Let them know the line and where they stand in it."
Raven's smirk grew sharper, more interested. "Let me guess," she said slowly, watching his face closely. "Is this about Taehyung... and that sweet little new girl?"
He raised a brow, taken aback. "How do you know?"
Raven chuckled, crossing her arms under her chest, which only made her dress rise just slightly higher. "Jungkook, please. I have my ways. You're not the only one people talk to."
Jungkook narrowed his eyes slightly. "What do you mean?"
Raven rolled her eyes fondly. "It's all over campus, baby. The little fight between you and Taehyung? That didn't stay quiet. And neither did the rumors about you and Evieโฆ or should I say, the rumors you tried to silence. But whispers don't die just because you want them to. People are still talkingโjust quieter now."
Jungkook let out a low curse under his breath and looked away, jaw clenching again. He hated that. Hated that after everything he did to maintain control, people still had the guts to talk.
Raven stepped in closer, her voice softer but still playful. "Relax. Honestly, I find it fun. Putting people back in their place? That's what I do best."
He looked back at her, considering her offer. "You'll help?"
She smiled sweetlyโtoo sweet. "What do I get in return?"
He raised a brow. "You already know."
Raven licked her lips and stepped so close that the space between them practically disappeared. "Hmm. I do love when you say it though."
Jungkook's lips curled into a slow smirk, dark and full of mischief. "You'll get what you want, Raven. You always do."
She bit her lip, eyes gleaming. "Perfect. Then let the games begin."
