Evie stood there, chest heaving, her entire body tremblingโnot from fear, but from a storm of emotions crashing into her all at once.
Rage. Disgust. Shock.
Her palm still stung from the slap she'd landed across Jungkook's face, but it wasn't enough. Not even close. Not for what he said. Not for how he looked at her like she was something to be boughtโlike she was his to use.
The entire hallway had gone deathly silent. Dozens of eyes were now on themโsome in shock, others frozen in curiosity, but none of that mattered to her. Her focus was on him. Only him. The one who had crossed the line so far she couldn't even see it anymore.
Jungkook stood there, stunned into silence, the red imprint of her slap still fresh on his cheek. His friends who had been watching from afar, the ones who probably thought it would be better plan to expose Evie infront of Taehyung, were now stunned. They hadn't expected this either. No one had.
But Evie didn't stop. She couldn't. The words poured out full of rage within her.
"My prize?" she spat, eyes burning as they met his. "Did you seriously just ask me that? Are you even listening to yourself? Who the hell do you think you are?"
She took a step forward, not backing down, her voice growing louder.
"You walk up to me like you own the world, like you can say whatever filthy thing you want and I'll just smile and go along with it? You think I'm just some random girl you can whisper shit to and drag into your bed for a night? You think my body's a bargain? A fucking prize?"
She tremble out of anger within her.
"Who the fuck are you even to ask about my prize?"
Her voice cracked slightly, but the rage carried it forward.
"You have any shame? Any humanity? Do you even have a mother or a sister? Or do you talk to them like that too? What the hell is wrong with you?"
Jungkook's lips parted slightly, as if he wanted to say somethingโanythingโbut no words came out. And Evie wasn't done.
"My prize?" she repeated, quieter now but more dangerous. "You're asking me about my worth, when you're the one who's slept with half the girls in this damn place like they're disposable toys?"
She took another step closer, not blinking. Her voice full of rage as she outburst and left no mercy.
" Tell me, if I turned around and asked about your priceโฆ what would it be? Nothing? A discount maybe? Or is it free now - because no one wants a used product anymore?"
Gasps echoes through the hallway, but Evie didn't even flinch. Her hands were clenched into fists, her eyes locked on his.
"Asking about my prize," she repeated, her voice dark and sharp. "When you don't even know your own worth."
Her eyes didn't leave his for a second. She was done holding back.
"You think just because you've got a fat bank account, a flashy car, and a bunch of dumb rich-boy toys, you're someone special?" Her voice cracked with emotion. "You think that makes you powerful enough to treat people like trash? To walk around saying disgusting shit and expect everyone to smile back?"
She didn't wait for him to speak.
"At first, you mocked meโpicked at my insecurities like they were some joke to you. Judged me without even knowing me. And I stayed quiet. Because I thought maybe you were just another immature jerk with a big mouth. But now... now you're asking me about my prize?" Her voice raised, filled with raw disbelief. "Like I'm a product. Seriously?!"
She shook her head slowly in absolute disgust.
"What the fuck do you even think you are," she snapped. "Just because you've got privilege, you think you can say anything?"
Her eyes scanned the group of people still standing in stunned silence behind him. "Just because a few idiots wag their tails around you like dogsโฆ licking your butthole like it's gold, like you're some kind of god โ" she scoffed, "you think the world wants you?"
Gasps echoed around them again, but Evie's voice grew louder.
"These people who worship you? They're mentally unstable. Just like you. And you โ" she pointed right at his chest, her hand shaking, "you need therapy. You're so full of yourself it's sick."
Her words hit harshly, every single insult, her voice seething.
"A few fools drool over your name and suddenly you think everyone's dying to be in your bed? That everyone wants you?" She said "This is embarrassing."
She stared him down, unflinching. "Step out of this bubble. This tiny little safe corner where no one calls you out. Go into the real world. Talk to people with working brains and self-respect and let's see how far your money and fake charm get you."
"Out there," she said, low and deadly, "no one gives a shit about you."
Atmosphere was tense.
Jungkook's jaw tensed, his lips parted slightly as if to respond but nothing came out. His eyes were locked on hers, unreadable, but the slight flare of his nostrils and clenched jaw betrayed him.
Evie stood tall, her eyes burning with rage as she looked directly at Jungkook. "Take a reality check," she snapped, her tone full of disgust. "You're not a god. Just because some idiots praise you and kiss the ground you walk on doesn't mean you are someone special. No one wants you. Get that in your thick head."
Her chest was rising fast, her breathing heavy as she continued, not giving him a second to interrupt. "Learn how to talk to women. Learn how to behave. You think every girl is going to fall at your feet just because of your money and fake charm? Especially me? I'm not someone you can disrespect and get away with it."
She stepped even closer, her glare sharp enough to kill. "Next time you say something like that to me again, I won't stop at a slap. I'll break your face."
The tension in the room was so thick. Everyone was watching in pure shock, too stunned to move or speak.
"Use your money for something useful," she added, her voice low and filled with pure hatred. "Go get some therapy. You really need it."
With that, Evie bent down, picked up her books and her bag from the ground, and without sparing him another look, she walked away, leaving Jungkook frozen in place like a statue.
He didn't move. He couldn't. It was like he had been paralyzed by the storm that had just hit him.
Whispers started spreading through the hall like wildfire. People were murmuring, staring at him, some with surprise, some with judgment. Jungkook's jaw clenched tightly as he finally snapped out of his trance. His eyes followed Evie's retreating figure, and the anger inside him exploded. His chest was rising with every breath, his fists shaking as he took a step forward.
She had humiliated him. In front of everyone.
She slapped him. She insulted him. And she walked away.
His friends, who had been watching everything unfold from the corner, immediately rushed to him. They knew him too well. They saw the look in his eyes, and they knew he was about to do something crazy.
Jungkook lunged toward the direction Evie had gone, his face twisted with rage, but his friends grabbed him before he could move too far. They held him back with all their strength as he struggled hard, shouting at them to let him go.
"Let me go," he growled. "She slapped me. She insulted me like that in front of everyone. I won't let her go. I'll show her what happens when someone messes with me."
"Jungkook, stop," one of his friends said, struggling to hold him. "She's a girl. You can't go after her like this. It'll only make things worse. Just stop."
But Jungkook wasn't listening. He was furious. Nothing was getting through to him.
His other friend jumped in, trying to reason with him. "We didn't know this would happen. This wasn't part of the plan. We just wanted to expose her real face. She was manipulating Taehyung, turning him against you. That was all. But thisโฆ this was too much. We didn't expect her to go off like that."
Jungkook growled under his breath. His eyes were wild, full of pure rage. "She's going to regret this," he said. "First, she came between me and Taehyung. She poisoned his mind, made him raise his hand at me, broke our friendship. Now this. Slapped me. Insulted me. She went too far."
His friends exchanged looks, unsure what to say anymore. They didn't agree with how far things had gone, but they also understood Jungkook's anger. His pride had been shattered in front of a crowd. The humiliation was more than he could take.
Still, they tried to calm him down, repeating the same words again and again.
"She's a girl, Jungkook. You can't do anything reckless."
One of Jungkook's friends grabbed his arm and spoke firmly. "This isn't the way to do it. We'll find another way to expose her. You going after her now, like this - it's not right. It'll backfire. She's a girl, we can't be reckless.. We'll handle it smarter."
The others nodded and slowly let go of him, backing away. Jungkook didn't respond. He just stood there, still breathing heavily, his fists clenched so tight his knuckles turned white as rage inside him kept boiling over. No matter how hard he tried, it wasn't going away.
After a long moment of silence, he muttered to himself under his breath, his voice rough with fury.
"She's just lucky she's a girlโฆ if she wasn't, today would've been her worst fucking day. But I won't let it slide. Not now. Not ever."
His jaw tightened, and his eyes darkened with a dangerous fire. "She thinks she's brave? Slapped me in front of everyone? Called me out like I'm some lowlife? Fucking bitch. She dared to do that to me?"
His face filled with only rage. She doesn't know who actually he is. Must be new hereโฆ clueless. Doesn't realize the kind of person she just messed with. But she will. He'll deal with it his way.
His rules.
Jungkook's gaze slowly shifted to the hallway, scanning the crowd of students still standing frozen in place, staring in shock. He glared at them coldly, his eyes sharp, threatening, like a warning carved into stone.
Say a word about this. I dare you.
That's what his eyes said.
And just like that, people lowered their gazes and backed off, scared of what might come next. No one wanted to be the target of Jungkook's wrath.
He stood there alone in the hallway, surrounded by silence, burning with rage and humiliated pride. He didn't move, but inside, a storm was building. And he was already planning his next move.
Evie had made a mistake.
And Jungkook was going to make sure she paid for it.
โ
Evie was storming out of the hallway, her heart pounding so loud it almost blocked out the noise around her. Her legs moved fast, but her mind was spinning even faster. She could still feel the sting of her slap on her hand, could still hear her own voice yelling at him, tearing him down in front of everyone. She meant every wordโฆ but now, reality was setting in.
It wasn't just anger anymore. It was everything at onceโdisgust, frustration, pain. But most of allโฆ fear.
He deserved it.
He pushed too far. He humiliated her. He crossed the line.
But still, she knew who he was. She had seen how people looked at him, how they followed him, worshipped him. He had power. Influence. The kind that didn't forgive easily. And now she'd gone head-to-head with him in front of the entire college.
She was shaking. Not just from rage but from the heavy, sinking fear creeping into her chest.
Had she made a mistake?
Had she just ruined everything?
Messed with the wrong guy?
Her breathing grew shallow as she exit through college main entrance. She felt trapped inside her own skin. She hadn't even met Taehyung today. She was supposed to see him, meet him, maybe spend a few minutes togetherโฆ but now she didn't care about any of that.
She wanted to disappear.
Her fingers gripped her bag tightly as she rushed through the campus gate. It was still early, classes hadn't even started. She could leave. Go home. Make up some excuse. Say she was sick. Anything. She just needed to get out of there before things got worse.
Because deep down, she knew this wasn't the end of it.
And for the first timeโฆ she was truly scared.
โ
Taehyung walked into the college with a big smile on his face, feeling lighter than ever. His heart was still replaying yesterday over and over again - her soft smile, the way she looked at him when he finally confessed, and that kiss.
That one kiss had flipped his whole world upside down in the best way possible. Everything felt like it was falling into place, and today, he couldn't wait to see her again.
He had been thinking about a hundred things since morningโwhat he would say to her, how he would hold her hand, maybe even ask her if she wanted to go out on a proper date this weekend. His mind was filled with plans and excitement as he made his way toward the batch classroom they both shared.
Standing just outside the door, he leaned against the wall casually, waiting for her like he always did. He watched as other students slowly started entering the building, laughing and talking among themselves.
One by one, they walked past him and went inside, but there was still no sign of her. He frowned a little, glancing at the time. It wasn't like her to be late. She was always on time, sometimes even early.
Still, he thought maybe she was just running a little behind today. No big deal.
But when the bell rang and the class was about to start, he had no choice but to go in without her. He sat in his usual spot, but he couldn't focus. He kept checking the door every few minutes, hoping she would suddenly walk in and flash him that smile. When she didn't, he quietly pulled out his phone under the desk and called her. The line rang, but she didn't answer.
His brows furrowed. That was odd.
He quickly typed out a message, something simple
โ[Taehyung]Hey, where are you? Everything okay?
โand sent it, hoping she'd reply soon.
Maybe she didn't come to college today. Maybe she wasn't feeling well or something urgent came up at home. That would make sense. But a part of him couldn't shake the little knot forming in his stomach. She hadn't even told him she wouldn't be coming. And she wasn't answering his calls either.
He was a little disappointed, especially since he had planned so much for today. He wanted to see her, talk to her, laugh with herโeverything felt like it was finally going somewhere between them.
Still, trying not to overthink it, he glanced down at his phone again. No reply.
He called her once more, quietly, as the teacher's voice droned on in the background. Again, no answer.
He sighed softly and leaned back in his chair, trying not to feel let down. Maybe she really did have something important to take care of. Maybe she was just busy. He didn't want to jump to conclusions. He told himself not to worry too much.
But even as he tried to shrug it off, a strange feeling lingered in his chest - something was off, and he couldn't figure out what.
โ
As Evie walked away from the college, her hands were trembling slightly, and her mind was all over the place.
Her phone kept buzzing in her pocketโTaehyung was calling again but she couldn't bring herself to answer it. Not now. Not when her heart was racing and fear had started to creep in slowly.
She knew she had done the right thing by standing up for herself, but now, the consequences were starting to scare her.
Jungkook wasn't just any guy. He was powerful. The kind of power that didnโt need fists to ruin someoneโhe was the son of a board member of the college, and his influence reached further than she liked to think about.
One word from him could mess up her reputation, her peace, maybe even her education. And that thought made her legs feel weak as she hurried down the street.
She didn't stop until she reached home.
As she stepped inside, she found her father standing near the front door, dressed neatly in his office clothes and fixing his tie. He looked up, surprised to see her back so early. His brows pulled together with concern.
"Evie? What are you doing here? Did your classes get canceled?" he asked, glancing at the clock. " You left looking fine this morning."
Evie tried to stay calm and gave him a small, tired smile. "No, uh... I wasn't feeling too well. I think I'm just a bit dizzy and my head hurts. So I came back early to rest."
Her father frowned, walking over to her. "You were perfectly fine when you left. Are you sure you're okay? Do you want me to take you to the doctor?"
She shook her head quickly, trying not to let her panic show. "No, no, it's alright. I just need to lie down for a bit. Maybe I didn't sleep well last night or something. I'll be fine after some rest."
He still looked worried but nodded slowly. "Alright, but if you don't feel better later, we're going to the clinic. Got it?"
"Okay," she mumbled and gave him a small nod before walking toward her room.
As she shut the door behind her, she leaned against it and let out a shaky breath. Her heart was still pounding. She didn't know what was going to happen next, but one thing was clear - messing with Jungkook was dangerous.
And she knows well that people like him never slide things easily.
