I should've punched him in the gut.

I should have reminded him who the boss was and how he had no right to misunderstand my words.

But no. My stupid ass blanked out. Seeing him hold his anger back like that made me second-guess if I made the worst mistake of the century. To add to the misery, I fucking wept like I was sure he was going to leave me.

If he did. If he did leave me for something so small, I'd have enough to reel back and be okay on my own. I was prepared. It was not that difficult for the guys to let me go. I wouldn't mind if this ended right here. At least the damage would be bearable.

What actually hurt my butt was the fact that I didn't even retaliate when I wasn't even fucking wrong! And like a stupid bitch, I now sat on my desk, rethinking my life decisions. Oh boy, this dating shit was too complicated for me. I was too dumb for this fuckery.

I leaned back, folding my arms across my chest, my brain in la la land of the ludicrous. I couldn't concentrate. I couldn't work. Not when that demon asshole was in the same office building.

My eyes flicked at Mr Min passing by. I bit my lip, nervous.

Mr Min had chosen to remain quiet about what Jungkook did. I made it a point to apologise again when I returned from the third floor. He assured me that it was fine and that I shouldn't be involved in such physical alterations between men. His thought process told him to steer clear of them. But in reality, I wanted a chance at drawing shots at someone too. Something to loosen my arm and get me going.

Therefore, I had decided. I was going to make sure Jungkook crawled back to me on his feet or broke up. No in-betweens. I didn't have the patience.

As if the universe had organised a crime against me, I got an invitation to a meeting with the higher management about the assault. The reminder popped up on the screen and the day just couldn't get any worse. Fuck me. Seriously.

Now, I have more people to explain shit to.

I checked the meeting floor and room in the email to locate the destination. Room 3F. Oh fuck this shit, man!

This was about to be devastating. I had just returned crying from the third floor and now I had to go back there again? What a fucked up situation!

But anyway, let's prepare to die. Not like anything was getting any better.

I clicked the camera open, checking my face for anything unusual and applying a dash of nude shade on my lips so I didn't look too happy after such a menacing incident. The assault, I mean. Besides, people didn't want women to recover and be happy in this world. They wanted us to crib and die alone. If we looked good, then it did not happen to us.

Hah.

I grabbed my phone, strutting downstairs again, my heart in my throat.

Once I entered the room, I tried to focus on the fact that there were other people in the room too. But damn it, my breath almost choked when I saw Jungkook calmly discussing things with the other people.

The meeting went okay. They didn't pick on me. But they did imply that it would be appreciated if I could keep my mouth shut. Which was a given. I didn't have a hobby of throwing pity parties. I didn't explain it in too much detail either. I only told them that I managed to lock the guy in one of the rooms. There was the threat of being questioned why I had Jungkook's keycard. To his personal cabin. So I chose not to disclose that it was his cabin. And they didn't prod.

By the time I stepped out of that place, I was devastated by how professional and farther Jungkook seemed from me. Looking at him in professional settings really hammered the cactus way up in my ass. Forced to keep my distance because I didn't have him the way I should have. Quite shameful. As if I was sitting naked in this room full of people. I didn't like the feeling that somehow maybe this was the end. He was good to me. He did things well. There was awesome sex. But...I had a potty mouth and he had little patience for being slammed with certain truths. So I guessed, that was as far as I could take this relationship on my back.

I couldn't even tell why I was already planning the end of it all when it was just a fight. But I had to be prepared for the worst, right? Falling on my face was not my favourite part of the day.

"Mr Jeon," I heard a particularly female voice and I halted a few feet behind in the corridor. It was planned. That name just made me mad. Mad, mad, mad. So mad that my chest burned.

He stood at the intersection in the corridor, his posture now blocked by the high-heeled woman with a cheery grip on his throat. I was now roped into his waves of thick hair around his head. I blinked fast. This was nuts.

Jungkook bowed to her.

God, why was I standing here like some obsessed creep?

My feet began moving. I didn't want to eavesdrop and get myself thrown into a ditch of hurt. My mind had had enough of the hell I had created.

I didn't even listen to half of what they were talking about. But the moment I neared them close enough for the stupid details, what I heard had to knock my socks off. My stupid ears. They just had to listen to everything fucking thing.

"You should mark yourself, Mr Jeon. It's hard to tell if you're single or not." That girl giggled suspiciously high and I wanted to burn myself to the ground.

Why did I hear this? Oh fuck. My head almost hung back, eyes rolled back with disgust. Whatever the fuck this man was doing was making me itch for the baton in my bag.

I kept my feet fast. I had to get out of that stupid place because what the fuck? What did she mean by 'mark' himself? Mark, like what? With a marker pen on his forehead saying he's booked? That had no logic. It wasn't like he was married to show off his ring and keep all the girls at bay. I was so initial in the phase that it wouldn't be surprising to be ghosted.

I shrugged, my head getting dizzy from the anxious perspiration and overthinking. My head would explode like a bomb anytime now.

Ridic—

My hand was snapped at, my body whirling to Jungkook standing right in front of me. I gasped and pulled my arm away, as if he had pinched my skin off.

"Are you crazy? There are people here!" I hissed at him, massaging the place where he had touched me. It tingled. My eyes darted around us. There was no one else there but we were in a corridor. There was no telling who would appear when.

"Then stop running." He threw an impatient snap.

My lashes fluttered up to his face, chin pulled inwards, softly glaring. Whatever did he think of himself, not following my orders?

I wasn't a fan of hiding but anyone who worked in a glass building knew that revealing affairs on the floor was a sin. A sin so bad that you reap only the harvest of a break-up. People naturally hated couples formed in workplaces. And with the dynamics of my hierarchy being lower than his, people would assume that I was whoring around and I wasn't even kidding. The actual words would be way vulgar.

His eyes were dark, unreadable and probably thinking if I was even worth it. He stepped closer, and my eyes shot wide, glaring at him to get into his military undercover stance.

"Fuck..." He breathed, hand tearing through his hair. "We need to talk."

His mouth. My eyes dropped to his mouth was plush, ready to fuck me just from talking. I didn't even know how that was possible. I hated it. His brows knotted, hopelessly waiting for my response. That fucking Jeonalisa made me want to lock myself in a room and scream because he was so beautiful.

"After work." I snapped, fists closing next to me. I instantly took a step back.

"Now. Talk now." He stressed. And just like that, he grabbed my arm.

"J—Jungkook! You dickhead!" I whispered aggressively and slapped his hand that led me down the corridor, opening the door to the service stairway.

I blinked, mouth opening at where we were headed.

I didn't protest anymore now that we were in a much secluded place.

He didn't stop. I didn't care. Was he about to break up? What else could 'we need to talk' mean? The last time it happened, I had my ex get married to someone else. So what now? Was it the same with him?

My chest heaved, getting heavier every second.

We came across a door that said in clear words - 'Cannot be opened from inside. Do not close.'

"Hey!" I punched his back, gasping as he kicked the plastic stopping the door from closing. "Jungkook!"

He pulled me inside the room and the room shut with the loudest slam. The sound must have echoed through the stairway. Alas, this wasn't somewhere that people usually loitered so no one was going to help.

I turned to him, horrified, not even aware for a moment that he was holding me against the door now.

The room was dusty and filled with cartons of machinery and expired hardware parts. But that wasn't my concern. My concern was this china shop bull.

"Have you lost your mind?" I pushed at his chest, whirling and grabbing the latch, yanking it as hard as I could. "It clearly said the door doesn't open from the inside! What is wrong with you?!"

His fingers crawled into my hips, whirling me around to face him.

My back rested against the door, ready to kick him in the nuts if he said something shitty about breaking up.

"What is this? Is this your weird way of telling me that you're marrying someone else?" I scoffed, my voice cracking from the dust and the premonition of what was coming at me.

His body pressed into me, hands wrapped completely around my waist now. "What the hell are you talking about?"

The room had a pitiful bulb glowing that showed only enough light to save us from being blind. And seeing Jungkook up close like this killed the fuse in my head. His perfume was heavy. It was already on the back of my throat.

I tried to push his wrists away.

"People say I should mark myself. I shouldn't look single, they say."

I threw my head back, landing on the door as I scoffed, "People? Or that horseshoe magnet of a girl?"

The girl was pretty. The credit was due.

A soft smirk curled his lip, "So you heard."

"Who wouldn't?" I sneered, folding my hands at my chest. "You guys were flirting right in the middle of the corridor."

"Flirting?" He blinked. "Really, Haerin? That's flirting to you? Even when I told her that I already had a girlfriend?"

My neck warmed, "When you make a girl giggle like that, it is. And I don't blame you. If you realised that you want someone else after our argument, I can tell you it's not the first time someone has. I'm used to this so—"

"What the hell are you saying?" His voice rose, not from trying to intimidate. He was just shocked.

I gulped, eyes darting away "You don't have to mark yourself. It's okay."

"But I want to be." He sounded so needy. So needy.

My shoulders sagged, relieved that this didn't sound like a break-up conversation.

"I don't have anything right now." My hands dug into the pockets of my trousers and I helped a hairpin out. "This can work." I deadpanned. My face was hot and beet, but I didn't show a speck of emotion when I attached the hairpin to the opening of his vest, right at his chest where everyone could see.

Once it was fixed, I blinked up at him, "Now, is this what you wanted to talk about? I have my entire life to listen to you. I'm going to die in this room anyway."

He smirked, "I'll call someone to open the door once we're done talking. And no, Miss Kang. This wasn't what I wanted to talk about."

I lowered my face, too mad to see him but he lifted my chin, forcing me to look.

"I can't do this. I can't argue with you. Fuck, say the ugliest thing you want. I'll take it all." He said and my heartbeat slowed. "I just can't have to walk out my door like that again. Get it, love?"

I swatted his hand away from my chin. "That wasn't why we argued."

"You don't want me to hit him? I won't." He begged. "I'll fuck him up in different ways. But I won't do it again, I swear."

"Wha—" my eyes narrowed, "Fuck him up in different ways? What the hell are you talking about Jeon Jungkook?"

"I'll talk. I won't use my hands on Yoongi."

Yoongi? I blinked. Oh, wait, fuck. Mr Min's name was Yoongi. Fuck, Haerin.

"And?" I raised a brow.

"I'll apologise to him, immediately. Okay?" He held my face, his hands sinking into my hair. His mouth pecked my right cheek, then the left. "You forgive me now?" He kissed my nose. "Hm?" Kissed my chin. "Tell me. What else do I have to do?" He pecked my forehead.

"St—Stop!" I teemed red, pushing him away. "Fine. Forgiven. I know you just didn't want me to flinch. I get it. I just—"

He observed, my face still in the cup of his hands.

"I just, don't want you to be violent. Not with him. He's like—like my dad." I confessed.

"Your dad? You mean a father figure?" He chuckled at my foolish choice of words.

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah. Same thing. We can talk it out with him, alright?"

He stayed like that for a few more seconds. Like he was trying to understand me. And it made me feel warm because even if he didn't, at least he was trying.

"So, you can call someone now and get the door open." I shrugged, twisting out of his grip, looking at the objects strewn around. "This looks like a warehouse. God, Neureva has so many stupid secrets."

My eyes fell on a weird shift on the floor.

A roach. A fucking—

"WHOAAAAAA!" My soul thrashed to get out of my body. I grabbed Jungkook's shoulders, "OH MY GOD!"

"Haerin!" He tried to hold me, confused but I was jumping around too much. "It's okay, it's just—"

The roach found wings. It turned into a fairy and buzzed, making a quick spin around the dusty floor. I screamed from my gut.

"IT FLEW!! IT FUCKING FLEW, JUNGKOOK!"

He lifted me off the ground. I locked my legs around his hips. My face was in the oven. I was too hot. I tried to breathe, my face in his chest.

What the hell was this place?

"It's haunted! With insects!" I squealed.

His chest vibrated when he laughed, pressing my back into the door and adjusting me in his arms. His fingers were pressing into the back of my thighs, climbing higher every time I tried to adjust myself.

"I didn't know of your love for roaches." He teased.

"It's not the roaches, you bastard," I growled. "It's the fact that they can fly! And this place is so dirty!"

I gulped, finally feeling my throat dry.

Jungkook dug his face into my back, breathing my scent in. I shivered. He was just so creepy sometimes. I didn't know how to react to it.

When he exhaled, it felt like he was sinking into his comfy sheets to go to sleep. It felt weird.

"Did you think about that question?" His whispered, his breath on my neck.

"What question?" I tried to breathe, my lungs deflating when the panic had finally got away. It almost made me tired.

"About the sex. Did you think about what you didn't like or want me to change?"

Again with that.

I placed my hand on his shoulders and pulled back, looking into his eyes. My face was in flames.

His eyes were drunk on something. His mouth curled, hovering over my mouth, then my cheeks and then meeting my eyes. I could feel his beating heart right where I had placed my hand. "Tell me what you need. I'll follow the rules."

Rules. Were there rules he would follow? Something that I set out for him? Did he listen to me? Yes, he did. I told him not to cut me off once and he hadn't cut off a single word I had said. So I had enough proof that he respected my needs.

"I told you. I don't know how to answer that." I looked away, abashed. "It's weird to think back and then list it out. I wasn't even in my head..."

"Okay." He nodded, slow. "How about I take you through it and you can let me know what you like? If you don't like something, just tell me the previous thing I did was better, hm?"

I cleared my throat, "Really? Shouldn't I do something to help you enjoy it too? I feel like you're the only one taking effort."

He smiled and kissed my cheek. "You just have to enjoy it. You don't know but it does enough for me."

"Really?" I whispered.

"Yes," he smiled. "The excitement works wonders. Let me do you good. I want to do you so good you won't even talk about me breaking up ever again."

"You pervert." I smacked his forehead and he chuckled.

"You talk so...weird." I scowled. "You're like a dog trying to please me and I'm not even kidding."

"Oh, you don't know half the things this dog can do for you." His lips searched my neck, his tongue dragging over my skin.

"J—Jungkook. Not there." I tilted my head and he pulled back. "It'll be hard to hide any marks there."

"Should I go deeper? Somewhere they won't see?" He enquired, his breath minty.

My face flushed and he got the cue. He pushed me against the door and lifted me higher. His mouth descended lower, the shirt getting in the way.

"Sh—should I?" I said, my fingers reaching for the buttons, trembling. He nodded, his teeth biting my nipple through the clothes. I shivered and squeaked, shedding the buttons.

His mouth curled into my cleavage, tongue sucking at the skin. I breathed fast, the rush making my head spin. He kissed softly over my chest, as if adoring them.

The roach was now long forgotten. My hands were trembling against his body. He moaned into my chest, crawling back up to my collarbone. His fingers squeezed my butt, pushing my core against his. He gasped a breath, cursing to himself as he moved over our clothes. I whimpered, biting my lip, our bodies fitting into each other weirdly.

"Does this...feel good?" He asked, sucking at my mouth.

"Y—Yes." I breathed, "Fuck!" I arched my head back. The shiver sent through my thighs pooled as heat between my legs. "Ah—!"

He pounded me against the door, my fingers clenching his shoulders as he watched me with eyes that were begging to read me. It's like he was reading my reactions to estimate if he was performing well.

"My—My legs are aching." I breathed when he pulled back from the kiss. "Put me—down..."

He loosened me and put me down, his body crouching with me as if he wasn't sure I could stand anymore. I held onto his shoulders for a few seconds more to help myself. Once I had built enough strength to stand, I looked up at him and giggled.

"You're stupid. Did you just hump me in a dusty storeroom?" I glared.

He chuckled and kissed my hair. "I'd do you anywhere you want me to. You just have to say the word."

"Aww," I rolled my eyes. "What a lustful man. Hey." My eyes lit up. "How about we make a code word for when we want to do the dirty and there are people around? Wouldn't it be fun?"

He nodded, smirking. "What do you have in mind?"

"Performance review." I nodded. "Whenever we want to, just tell me this and I'll be ready."

He hunched over and laughed. The sound of him laughing made my stomach twist with more than just butterflies. It made me want to make a million more jokes. Make him laugh like that until he couldn't breathe.

I loved this man.
