Chapter 6

"So ate Bea talks about me?" Tanong ko while we were eating at mcdonalds. Katapat lang sya ng school kaya di naman malayo. He asked for chicken nuggets and fries. While I got a burger.

"Super. Alot. Alam mo ba ate, she keeps this photo of you and her in her room. Tapos whenever I visit, we always draw castles. Its for you daw po." Kwento ni Keanne. Super daldal pala netong batang to. Nilalaglag na si Bea HAHAHAHA

"Tapos during christmas week, she was super busy making this hoodie. She bought a plain hoodie from H&M and then she sew and had this cool sunflower printed at the back. She made it all by herself! Its really cool nga po eh" I felt my heart flutter. She really put this much effort for my hoodie.

"Dont tell ate Bei that I told you po ha. She actually went to Alabang on purpose just to give you her give. Then she came back smiling and jumping while holding your gift. I was scared that she actually went crazy" kwento pa ni Keanne. I laughed dun sa story nya. Bea was always goofy HAHA

"What does your ate Bei call you?" Tanong ko naman kay Keanne. I remember him saying that I was the only one Bea calls her baby.

"Captain Keanne! I wanna be a pilot. Its cool ate diba? Flying planes and controlling the air" sabi pa nya while flying an imaginative airplane. Ang cute talaga ng batang to.

He asked alot of things about me. Syempre kinuwento ko na. Buong lifestory ko na ata yung nasabi ko HAHA. This kid seems smart for his age. He was super talkative and really interested about me.

"Do you like ate Bei?" He suddenly asked when we were on our way back to La Salle. It was fun talking and playing with him.

"Huh?" I asked. Medyo nagulat ako sa tanong. He was really straightforward

"Kasi, Kuya Thirdy is courting her. Even if ate Bei keeps rejecting him, he was so persistent. I hate him." Sabi pa nya crunching his nose. Oh so Thirdy Ravena already met her family ha."But I like you better for ate Bei." Biglang dagdag nya which made me smile. We already have a little shipper hahaha

"Me too." I said while winking at him. We then saw Bea waiting for us near the gate. Keanne immediately ran to her.

"Ate Bei!!! Guess what?" He said while being engulfed into Bea's hug. He told her everything we talked about haha. Bea looked worried and was red again. "Then ate Kimchie also gave me a cookie!!" We had one thing in common. We both love cookies hahahaha. Kuya Louie came and took Keanne home.

"Bye ate Kimchie!! See you soon" Keanne said while waving goodbye.

"Keanne is so madaldal" Bea said while pouting. I laughed and pinched her cheeks

"Oo nga eh. You really like me no?" I teased her.

"Oy stop that. You really like teasing me" she said while scratching her head. We already entered the campus. Bea was always a head turner. Kaya pagpasok palang namin, nakatingin na agad yung mga tao kay Bea.

"They are looking at you. Ang pangit mo daw kasi" biglang bulong ni Bea and I rolled my eyes. Super bully naman neto.

"Hey, Kianna! Goodluck sa game mamaya" biglang lapit naman ni Andrew. He was my batchmate and also a suitor. I smile at him but then biglang Bea pulled me close to her and held my hand. I felt this spark and my heart was beating rapidly

"He is Andrew diba? One of your suitors" she whispered and I nodded yes."And im one of your suitors now" biglang sabi nya. Ha? What? She is courting me??? Gosh I might faint right now.

——————VIL went by really fast. Its our third to the last day. Poveda and DLSZ both made it to the finals. Araw araw, walang palya. Bea always pulled off a suprise for me. She made a song for me. She wrote 365 poems in a jar for me. She would even carry my bag and go to breakfast with me everyday. Yesterday, she surprised me with a bouquet of sunflowers when we won our spot into the finals. Even though sila ang makakatapat namin.

Flashback

We did it!!! We are finals bound!!!

"KKD!! KKD!! KKD!!" I heared the crowd chant as I was named player of the game scoring 28 points. I gave it my all since this is my last VIL in highschool. Next year, I'll be transferring to DLSU already.

"Baby Kia!! Ang galing mo!" Bati ni ate Cha. She was already our senior na din. She was 2 years older than me pero we are batchmates

"Kianna!! Hanap ka na ng bebe mo" tawag sakin ni Ara. I saw Bea smiling while holding a bouquet of sunflowers and a box of gushers!! I ran to her and gave her a hug

"Finals bound na!!" She said while handing me the sunflowers and gushers

"Thanks Bei!" Sabi ko sakanya."So mind if you tell me kung anong type mo? You promised!!" Pangungulit ni Bea sakin. Ever since we met, lagi na nya ako kinukulit about my type."Do you really wanna know?" I leaned closer to her ear and whispered"BDL" And I winked at her before running away to change.

——————Bea POVThe next day, it was already our finals day. Tomorrow awarding nalang. I was walking my way sa canteen pero someone suddenly pulled me and I felt another set of lips against mine. WTF I panicked and tried to get out but I cant.

"what the fuck" I heard a familiar tone say. I looked and saw Kianna staring at me. At first she was shocked. But then her eyes went cold and she walked away

"Kianna, wait!" I tried to call her but she never looked back. I was frozen on the ground. She was hurt. I know she is! I looked backed to who the fucking person did this and I saw

"Wtf Stacey?" I stared at disbelief. My heart just sunk. I didnt know why she did that. We were friends. I made that clear. We were only just friends and she understood that. She even stopped sending flowers to me everyday.

"Its just a dare, Beatriz" she said and tried to walk away. I stopped her."Why would you do that? Kianna was there!" I said. I didn't know what to feel. I was angry? Or just pissed off. "Hey its not like you two are together or anything. Your single and im single. There's nothing wrong" She said and walked away. I was just standing there. I really dont know what to do. Should I talk to her? I clutched the necklace hidden behind my shirt and I pulled it out. I always wore this. I then noticed the word "baby" engraved on the back. Fuck.

I ran to find Kianna. I searched gym1, and also gym2 and went to the canteen. She wasnt there. I almost searched the whole campus. Where is she? I was about to give up when I saw Ara. The Ara Galang.

"Hey Ara, nasaan si Kianna?" I approached her. She was on her way to gym1"Ano nangyari? Pumunta sya sa dorm. Mukhang may nangyari eh. Ang tahimik nya" she even pointed the direction of their dorm. She said that Kianna was there at their dorm."Ah ok. Thanks Ara!" I bid her goodbye and ran to the dorm that Ara pointed. I saw Kianna by the dorm walking her way to gym1 already in game gear

"Kianna, wait. Uy" I called her attention. She looked at me with coldness in her eyes. She was never like that. I never saw her like that."Stacey was just a friend it was just-" I was tryinv to explain but she cut me off

"Oh. You're a really good friend, Bea" She said and left with a smile. Yung smile na malungkot? I know she isnt happy. My eyes followed her but she was walking away already.

"Hey, De Leon. From Poveda diba? Its almost championship na" someone said. Mukhang teammate ni Kianna. Shit. I need to get ready na pala."You know, its the first time baby Kia ever looked like that. And super hirap nan suyuin ha. Whatever happened, it will be hard to forget" she said and tapped my shoulders before going off.

————Poveda won the first set at ngayon, DLSZ is leading by 3 points. Kianna was only wearing her game face and mukhang galit sya. Her spikes were more loaded than ever. Baon na baon talaga. Its hard to block her because she always gets the ball through.

"Quick!" Tawag sakin nung setter namin while tossing me the ball for a quick.

"BEA DE LEON!!!" The crowd cheered loud after scoring a point. Everytime I score, it was always super loud. But it felt like something is missing. Kianna's voice in the crowd.

It was a grueling 5-setter match. Kkd and Ara was fired up. We knew we were in trouble. The score is now 14-14 two points nalang . Fuck.

"Bea ano ba! Focus sa game! Focus!" Coach called me out. Hindi ko kasi masabayan si Kkd. Its like naiilang ako? She was fierce. Gosh.

We were now back on court. And kaharap ko na si Kianna sa rotation. Only the net was separating us. Shit. I heard Stacey's voice sa crowd. I crunched me nose and looked at her with annoyance. She has the nerves to cheer for me? Fuck.

"Focus on the game" biglang nagsalita si Kianna. She was staring at me. Pero walang nagbago. Her eyes were still cold. Her face was emotionless. I was trying to find that sunflower in her eyes. That happiness. Pero wala eh.

The game ended quick. And Kianna finished the game. We were all exhausted after that 5 setter match. It ended with 25-27 and DLSZ got the championship. It felt wrong but I wasnt sad about us losing. I was actually happy to see Kianna celebrating. "Great game team. Bawi nalang sa next league" said our coach before dismissing us. I went to the bleachers and the crowd came roaring. It was loud enough to catch Kianna's attention and she suddenly looked my way before our eyes met. I smiled at her but she only nodded back.

"Hey, Keanne. Go congratulate your ate Kimchie. Hug her tight for me. Please?" I instructed Keanne. He wanted to go to Kianna and I let him. Its not like I can hug her now that she hates me. The least I can do is send her hugs through Keanne. He ran to Kianna's direction. Kianna lifted him up and hugged him. She even kissed Keanne's cheeks. I smiled from afar. Ang ganda nila pagmasdan. It made my heart happy. Kianna was named MVP syempre. She let Keanne down and her eyes followed him going back to me. She saw me clapping. And I just wished she knew how proud I am of her.

Thats my MVP
