"I'M BACK." YOU announced stepping inside your house with the brightest grin you had ever worn.

"Welcome back!" you heard your mom chirp from somewhere inside the house. Maybe she's in the living room. You guessed.

Shutting the door behind you, you removed your shoes and as you did so, an unfamiliar pair of shoes caught your eyes which were kept neatly just beside yours.

You hurried towards the living room but it was empty so you made your way towards the kitchen and found your dad sitting on the dining table reading newspaper as per usual, your mom was cooking food and finally, your aunt sat casually on the chair facing her back towards you.

Your dad lifted his head and peered over his reading glasses to take a look at you, "Welcome back."

That caused your aunt to turn around and stare at you with a warm gaze, "Hello, my child."

"Aunt Yuriko!" you exclaimed wrapping your arm around her, "I missed you." you said in the crook of her neck causing her to let out a light chuckle.

"I missed you too." she replied patting your head.

You stepped back with a bright smile, "Now, I guess I should go and take a shower first," you smiled awkwardly as your aunt noticed your state. You needed a shower.

You stepped out from the kitchen when you heard your father say , "Yeah we have a lot to talk about your day sweetie."

You raised your eyebrows and squinted your eyes at him.

"Thanks for the lovely gift, aunt," you said smiling at her way which she responded with a dismissive wave of hand and a warm smile.

You caressed the photo frame lightly with your fingers.

"Are those earrings and pendant a gift from someone?" your father asked sipping his hot tea.

That was out of blue.

"Yes."

"By whom?" he pressed further.

"A friend." you replied, wanting to get away from this conversation as soon as possible.

"A guy?" his eyes showed nothing but curiosity.

You heaved a great sigh. "Yes, a male specie such as you." you said, hoping he would drop the conversation.

"The same guy who gives you combat training in the evening?" he inquired, staring at the clock on the wall behind you, checking the time.

"Yes." you bit on the cutlet aggressively. "In fact, I'll be leaving in a few minutes." you added.

"Y/N, you have a boyfriend?"asked aunt Yuriko with a hopeful glint in her eyes.

You almost choked on your food as Baji's picture with his fangs out came into your mind,"No!" you answered, suddenly finding the food the most interesting thing in the world as u dig in it to hide your flustered stare.

The table fell into silence and no one uttered a single word. You decided to lift your head slightly to take a look at your surroundings only to find out their eyebrows raised at you.

"It's okay, Y/N," your mom decided to speak. "We all fall for someone."

"Baji is just a friend, mom!" you clarified, letting out a huge sigh, "And its going to stay that way." you added, getting up from the chair and putting your dishes in the sink.

"Oh so his name is Baji." when you turned around to look at your mom, you saw a corner of her lip was tucked up from a side.

Heat rushes towards your face.

"That's it, I'm going!." you announced.

"Hope your training goes well." said aunt Yuriko with a knowing look on her face as she waved at you.

You huffed in frustration and hurried towards the door, exiting the place in an instant.

"You've improved quite well." praised Mikey with a proud smile as though he had been the one teaching you.

He wasn't.

"She still sucks." commented Baji leaning against the tree with one of his hand in his pocket.

You turned around to narrow your eyes at him, "Or maybe you're just a bad sensie." you replied.

"No, you're just a bad student." he retorted with a smirk, walking towards you in an intimidating way.

"You two always fight like an old married couple." said Draken with a roll of his eyes.

"We do not!" the two of you denied in the sync only to glare at each other afterwards.

"They're bipolar." Commented Angry with his usual pissed of expression.

"True, If one minute they're fighting then the other they're bonding like a lovey-dovey couple." admitted Smiley with a... well--a smile.

Mitsuya nodded.

"Lovey-dovey?" you asked raising your eyebrow as you gazed at Baji. "When?"

"I agree." Baji nodded his head at your words.

"Here we go again." spoke Chifuyu with a roll of his eyes.

The two of his friends glared at him.

"Geez!" it was Mikey who had finally finished his dorayaki."N/N?" he said grabbing your attention."Want to go one on one with Baji?"

Your eyes widened at his question, "Wh-What?" you asked, dumbfounded.

Is this man is crazy?

"One on one with Baji." he repeated loudly this time.

You let out a nervous chuckle."What?" an anxious expression covered your face. "No." your face turned blank as you answered.

"Why not?" he whined.

"Maybe because I don't want to get my ass kicked?" you stated as though it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"So you're scared?" provoked Baji with his stupid smirk, trying to get on your nerves.

"Of course, I am." you admitted shamelessly. Self respect has left the chat.

"See? What I told you about not being ready." he reminded with an expression which said I-am-always-right.

"Ready for what?" inquired Draken with a frown as he glanced back and forth at the two of you.

"Nothing."

"Joining Toman."

You and Baji replied at the same time then only narrowed their eyes at each other.

"I hope you join Toman, it would be so cool." said Chifuyu with an exhilarating grin.

"No." objected Baji simply, which caused you to heave sigh.

"Lets drop the conversation." you suggested half-heartedly, sitting on a bench.

You slowly lifted up your head when you felt stares on yourself and when you did your eyes met a pair of pitch black ones who were boring holes into your head. Your eyebrow arched at that.

"Those cat earrings look really beautiful, N/N." he commented with a smile and everyone nodded their head in agreement, except for Baji, who suddenly found the floor really interesting.

"And the matching cat pendant too." Chifuyu joined in as he threw a knowing look at Baji's way.

"I wonder who's that good at choosing gifts." added Mitsuya with a grin.

Baji clenched his teeth at the comments as he stiffly stood on the spot, wordlessly.

"It's amazing right? Baji gifted me those." you responded with a grin, unknowingly fiddling with the necklace.

"Totally couldn't have guessed that." said Draken with a smirk. Your face heated up.

Could they be thinking that...? You mentally shook your head. No, we're just friends and I guess I'm thinking too much into it.

Yeah that's it.

"I think I should drop Y/N home, right now," Baji finally spoke up changing the topic entirely, "Toman meeting is going to start in a few minutes, anyway." he added.

"Or.... She can join the meeting. She doesn't have to be the official member of the gang for that." suggested Mikey with a smile, slinging his arm over your shoulder.

"No,its fine," you said, gently pulling away his arm with a smile. "I need to be at home right now, anyway."

"Oh, okay then." he pouted childishly, which made you laugh.

"Thanks for asking, though." you said, holding onto his hand into yours as you patted it softly, until Baji yelled, "Lets get going because I don't wish to get interrogated by your father again."

That broke you off from your trance and you left Mikey's hand. "Right," you laughed. "Bye everyone." they all waved at you and you parted ways.

You made your way towards the raven haired boy, "Sorry about that interrogation, Edward." you spoke with no hint sincerity in your tone whatsoever.

Baji shot a glare at your direction. "Don't ever call me that again."

"Okay, Ed."

He sighed.

But you failed to notice a smile which crept its way onto his face.
