IV ~ Merlin

Do all demons cook like Meliodas or is it just him?

    Zeldoris' sword clattered to the ground as Meliodas' grip fell. Zeldris' face was twisted in pain and his eyes filled with terror. Elizabeth leaned down to pick it up while Meliodas raced to his brother's side.

    When Meliodas reached his hand out Zeldris tried to jerk away. But it was pointless. He was met by a sharp and intense pain.  He let out a strangled cry that startled even Meliodas.

    Seeing this, Elizabeth jumped in and casted a spell to numb the pain. Zeldris soon quieted down into low whimpers,  his eyes watering slightly.

    Elizabeth and Meliodas shared worried and scared looks. Both thinking the same thing. What is going on?  Elizabeth didn't remove her hand from Zeldris' forehead,  being scared that the pain might come back.

    All three of them jumped in surprise when they heard someone open the gate the hidden room.

Tap Tap Tap

    The sound of heels clicking on the stone was too loud in the quiet room. Everyone held their breaths. Zeldris watched Meliodas fearfully. Meliodas, feeling his brother's gaze, turned around and smiled nervously at him. He hoped the smile was reassuring.

    No one moved as Merlin came into view. The silence was so thick it couldn't be cut with a knife. Meliodas was first to cut it though.

    "Merlin, why is Zeldris here?" Meliodas asked. His voice was deep with cold anger. Merlin began to open her mouth before he cut her off with one question. "And why is he bound the worst demon sealing chains you have?"

    Elizabeth could tell the Meliodas only cared about why his brother was in pain. She smiled slightly at his worry.

    Zeldris was breathing heavily as Merlin responded, "I need him in order to make a deal." Elizabeth noticed Meliodas tense at that.

    "What deal?" Meliodas asked coldly.

    Merlin smirked, "A deal with the Demon King to remove your curse." Elizabeth cocked her head in confusion.

"And... The terms if this deal?"

"Remove the curse or I kill Zeldoris. Simple."

    There was a blur of black before Merlin went stumbling backward with a red mark on her cheek. It took Elizabeth a moment to realize Meliodas had activated his assault mode is a protective rage.

    "How dare you treat my little brother like some kind of disposable object!"

    Zeldris and Elizabeth watched, their mouths hanging open. Meliodas stood there fuming for a bit before realizing what he was doing.

    He quickly deactivated his assault mode,  rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment.

    Meliodas slowly recovered from the rage and crossed his arms. "You will remove his bonds, Merlin," Meliodas ordered.

    Merlin shook her head, "I will not, but I can remove enough for him to move."

    Meliodas sighed. "Fine then, remove all of them except one or two," he grumbled. He still wasn't satisfied but it was the most he could get Merlin to do.

    Elizabeth continued nullifying the pain as Merlin replaced the bonds with just two powerful ones. Once they were finished the two ladies left the room giving the brothers' space.

    There was a blanket of tranquility over the room. Meliodas, who was finally tired of not talking, stood up and turned to face Zeldris. He stuck his hand out with a little more force than necessary.

    Zeldris looked at it in surprise before grabbing his hand. Meliodas hoisted him up with a slightly sad smile.
