Chapter 1

23:33, 10 November 2013

*Sam's POV*

Today started out the same as any other day. I got up, got ready and waited for my brother, Ryan to bring my 2 year old niece, Rosie round to my house before he went to work.

As I stood at the window, waiting for them to arrive I noticed a moving truck pulling up infront of the house next door. Next door had been empty for ages, it was hard to believe someone was actually moving in.

I watched Ryan pull up and I went to open the door. He came inside and put my niece's necessities in the hallway. I watched as a tall blonde haired boy walked down next door's path to retrieve more boxes from the truck. My brother closed the door as my niece appeared from behind him. She ran towards me, and clung to my legs, she looked up at me with tears in her eyes, she was going to miss her dad. I lifted her from the floor as I chatted with my brother, just making small talk.

"Right, I gotta go or I'll be late thanks again for having Rosie, Sam." he said.

"That's alright" I said.

He leant forward and kissed his daughter on the head as she started to get more upset. She buried her head into my shoulder as he rubbed her back.

"Right, bye then" he said, knowing if he stayed any longer Rosie would make it impossible for him to leave without her.

"Bye" i said, watching as he walked down the path and trying to calm Rosie. When the car had left the cul-de-sac I closed the door and took Rosie into the kitchen. I sat her at the breakfast bar and wiped the tears from her eyes as I pulled silly faces, she began to laugh. I got a packet of biscuits from the cupboard and she immediately cheered up.

I loved having Rosie over. She was only little but she was so funny. Ryan an I have a younger brother, Matt but Rosie gets upset around him, besides he's 17, he doesnt really want to spend Friday's, or anyday for that matter at home with a small child. Whereas I dont mind.

I'm quite shy and insecure. The last thing I want to do is stand in a hot club with the music blaring, and girls walking round with next to nothing on. Twerking like Miley Cyrus. Definitely not my style. I'm in my last year at college studying hospitality and catering. And when I leave I want to start my own catering buisiness. Now you know the boring details you'll understand my story a bit better.
