Chapter 28 Let's Do This

Third Person's POV

The next day, the siblings woke up early in the morning as the two prepares themselves for breakfast before going to school. The match will be held in the afternoon so there will be enough time to prepare for the team. As for Kuroko Tetsuya, he was enjoying his cup of coffee while watching the news on the television, enjoying his breakfast while his sister, Kuroko Tetsumi on the other hand, was doing the total opposite. The house was filled with her voice shouting and stomping upstairs that can be heard in the living room where he is sitting.

Tetsuya looked at the stairway to see his sister quickly goes down the stairs with her phone placed on her ear, she was wearing a grumpy expression on her face, it was then Tetsuya realized what is happening on his sister right now.

"Is it dad?" Tetsuya spoke, Tetsumi turns around to face her brother on the table eating, she nodded and paces back and forth in the living room. Tetsuya just watched his sister.

"Come on, onee-chan! Now is really not the time to ask for a favor, I have a game that I must attend at all cost! Can't you let dad do the work for a little longer? I'm really so-- I'm so sorry, I really can't-- bye..." Tetsumi spoke, you could feel the stress from her voice, Tetsuya was quiet as he watches the scene.

He knows what is happening, his family runs a few businesses in America and Japan, every time their father asks for help to take care the business, one of his sisters has to fly over to the other country and work for two months or it can take a year, just like what happened to their big sister, Mei, when both of his sisters migrated in America to study abroad and also to take care of the business. Tetsuya, on the other hand, is on the side of their mother as their mother runs a hot spring resort in their province. Tetsumi ended the call and took a breathe then went over to the table to eat.

"Business?" Tetsuya asked his sister, she just nodded and stuffed her face with cereals, "what happened? Did dad asked for another babysitting?" Tetsumi sighed before answering.

"Yeah, he wants either me or onee-chan to fly back again to take care of his business, it was so stressful because now is very crucial. Dad can't just ask for favors so suddenly because we have our own lives!" She complains as Tetsuya listened.

"I'm sure dad will understand, don't let it bother you since today is very important for all of us," Tetsuya said and started cleaning his plates. Tetsumi was quiet as she watches her brother in the kitchen sink.

"Tetsumi, is it true that this will be the last tournament that Kyoshi-senpai will be participating in?" Tetsumi was silent when her brother spoke, she then looked at him with his back towards her.

"Did Teppi told you?" Tetsumi asked he shook his head.

"No, it was Hyuga-senpai who told the story." He said, she just nodded by his response.

"Yes, it is..." Tetsumi said, remembering what Maki told her when she's in America.

It was a mixed feeling of anger, disappointment, and sadness back then when she heard what happened to her best friend and what he did to him. She then confronted Hanamiya about what happened at their match when he did not hesitate to tell the truth that he really did hurt her friend. She was so angry at him at that time and the reason why their communication for each other lessens until there was no communication at all. She was mad at him for what he did and did not do anything to apologize for his actions.

"Hyuga-senpai said that he doesn't want any regrets." Tetsumi smiled hearing what her brother told her, what their senpai told them.

"We all are..."

It was already in the afternoon when two teams are in the court, Seirin was doing their warm-ups on the other side when their manager is not with them, this was noticed by Hanamiya Makoto as he casually looks around the side of her team to see her whereabouts but there was no Tetsumi's presence, only her brother and the rest of her team. He stopped his shooting to look for Tetsumi when a ball rolled over to his feet, he then picked it up and look forward to face to face Hyuga Junpei, the captain of Seirin.

"I believe this is yours," Hanamiya said, tossing it back to the captain, he didn't show any expression and just thanked the person. Hanamiya was about to go back to his practice when Hyuga stopped him.

"You better not forget what you did last year, Hanamiya," he said in a warning tone, Hanamiya just smiled at him mischievously.

"Don't be like that, I didn't even do anything, he just hurt himself that's all." He spoke making Hyuga furious by his words, he was about to walk over to him when a hand grabbed his shoulder to stop him and looked behind to see Kagami and Kuroko beside him.

"He's shittier in person," Kagami commented, Kuroko was looking intently at Hanamiya giving him the idea to stop whatever they are going to do, Hanamiya just casually shook his head gesturing Kuroko that it is not that and looked at Kagami, one of Tetsumi's friend in America and looking at Kagami's face felt his instinct that he is bad... bad for her, so he somewhat gave Kagami a foul mood but quick enough to mask it over with a smile.

"So you're the first-year duo that I have heard about, you two better not injure yourself in the game. Good luck." He then turns around and went back to his team who are already preparing their first line up. Hanamiya was looking down, thinking of something when his eyes caught someone's looking at him, it was Kuroko who is still looking. It was a brief moment where Kuroko noticed something is off with Hanamiya, being an observant person, Kuroko noticed that he is in deep thinking, maybe from what they talked about the other night...

Or something between him and his sister...

In the audience area, Tetsumi saw everything that happened when Hanamiya and Hyuga confronted each other, Tetsumi just watched the whole thing and did not even bother to worry about it since she knows her team that they don't fight over things just because they feel like it. She was in a balcony placing her palm on her chin to use her ability with the person's help besides her.

"This is interesting," her friend beside her spoke, Tetsumi just smiled and continues to do her thing.

"What is...?" Tetsumi spoke, the person looked at her and went back looking on the court.

"Your team are bloodthirsty today."

"Hey, Akashi~ I found a seat for us! Ahhhh!!!!"

Tetsumi was startled and looked at the stairs below them when she saw a person ran towards her place and pounce on her almost losing her balance from a sudden weight over her.

"L-long time no... see, Kochi--" She wasn't able to finish what she says when Hayama Kotarou spins her around while bear-hugging her, Akashi let the two be.

"Wow! Look at this girl! You've grown up into a highschool girl! Last time I saw you was when we were in middle school and you look like a 10 years old kid!" an irk mark popped into Tetsumi's head and grabbed Hayama by the head and gave him a good headlock as she ruffles his head.

"You bastard! How dare you call one of your former coach and manager a kid huh? Do ya want to die from these hand ha?!"

"AAHHH! HAHAHA! stop it, fine I'll sto--WHY ARE YOU TICKLING ME--HAHAHA OUCH--"

The two were having a rough play when Akashi finally stops them, Tetsumi releases Hayama and went closer to Akashi to see him still watching on the court then looked at Tetsumi beside him.

"Tetsumi, be careful." Akashi only said that made her confused, the two started going down to their designated seat when she stopped him, he then looks behind to meet her heterochromia eyes, just like him. All of a sudden, the surrounding that filled with noises became silent as the two connects despite the distance.

What do you mean, Seichi? What is it... Tetsumi thought, Akashi just shook his head and smiled at the girl.

It is better not knowing or else it won't happen Tetsumi... now go, they need you... Akashi answers back then the imaginary circle that the two made was gone and the noise of the audiences fills their space as if nothing really happened between the two, Tetsumi just stood still as Hayama waved at her and went to their seats.

While walking back, she still can't believe what skill of the heterochromia eyes can do, it is unexplainable but they learn to live with it and manifest the skill. But being able to use telepathy to send a message from one person to another is a small chance of possibility.

"Kiyoshi-senpai!" Kiyoshi looked at the three first years in front of him, "Let us help you tape your knee!" one of them offer as Kiyoshi was reluctant.

"At least let us help you with the taping, it's the only support we can do for you senpai!" one of them said, Kiyoshi was silent when he looked at the captain, Hyuga Junpei who is stretching behind them,

"Let them be," he spoke, Kyoshi then look at the three and let them tape him.

"Oy, thats not right!" all four of them looked at the side to see their manager walking on their place.

"You're turning him into a mummy!" Tetsumi laughs and stood next to them as Aida Riko, their coach went in their way and slaps one of them and let her tape properly.

"Once you feel yourself in trouble, we will sub you out immediately," Aida warns him.

"Here Teppi, your kneepad." Tetsumi helped him wear the pad and thanked her then patted each of the first years before going into the court with the rest.

"Where have you been Tetsumi-chan? Did something happened?" The coach asks the manager as she organizes all their water bottles on the bleacher.

"A friend came to watch our game, I just escort them to their seats." She said and the coach did not ask for more and ask about the session the three of them had and Tetsumi told her about it reassuring that the strategy is connected with hers and there is nothing to worry about if ever something happens.

Tetsumi put her focus in the court where the referee introduces the two schools, her eyes met with the person who is looking at her way and didn't show any emotion to it, to let the person know that this game is very serious for her.

"Looks like your girlfriend is serious about it, makes me sad that they're trying hard for it." Furuhashi, one of the starters told Hanamiya that only two can hear, he just smirked upon what his teammate said.

"Baka, she is not my girlfriend," he told him but did not show any expression as he just stared at his captain.

"It will get brutal," he spoke to him, Hanamiya just look at his teammate and went to the center to start the tip-off

Kuroko Tetsumi's POV

He better understand what I am trying to say, he better not do something brutal even though I already know what he will do but I can't interfere with the present, there will be consequences...

I took a breathe and focus myself on the game as the game starts with the tip-off, it was between an opponent and Teppi, he was able to tip the ball and Seirin was able to get the first ball. Everyone cheered and started advancing towards the ring.

"I don't feel good about this," I commented making Rikochi look at me with confusion.

"What's wrong?" she asked, I looked at her and shook my head.

The ball was passed to Tetsuchi and a player tried to steal it from him when he uses his ability the vanishing drive, everyone here in the bleacher cheered as he was able to pass the player and shoot the ball for Teppi to dunk making the first score for the Seirin. I am smiled victoriously.

I am sorry Taichi, today I will be focusing on Teppi and Tetsuchi's duo, I will let Rikochi handle you for now.

If you break them, they will be trash, you say Makochi? Let's see about that...

The game continues with the possession of Kirisaki Daichi, It looks like Makochi will pass the ball to the dead fish eyes, the Furuhashi guy I met in a store before. Hyuga-senpai was pinning him when Furuhashi passed him and senpai was about to block him when another player screened him. From my place, I saw how senpai winces and squinted my eyes at what happened, that guy rough screen him. Furuhashi was able to possess the ball and shoot a three-point score...

You're too relax... I thought to myself when the ball bounces on the ring, Taichi was about to rebound the ball when he was too late to jump and another opponent was able to get it. 

My eyes widen when the opponent swings his arm too loosely that almost hit Taichi on the face and made a score from Kirisaki Daichi.

These bastards... looks like it will be like this the whole game, I better warn my teammates about it.

I was leaning forward with my palm on my face and turn to the other side of the court to look at Makichi who is focused on the game, is this how you teach your teammates? I'm shocked that Makochi took your leadership for granted. 

"Is this for real?" I put my focus back on the game, "all the teams they had played with were injured!" one of them our player said.

"This is how they are when the uncrowned king and the manager joined their team, their game plan changes drastically and was able to kick their former coach out as well as their third years who willingly left the team for who knows what the reason," I told them, they were shocked from the information I gave as well as Rikochi. 

But it doesn't mean that Makichi is a bad person, she is just sadistic when teaching her "students" in her own way, it's just Makochi the one who manipulates them. The siblings are quite complicated when they are doing their own things, just like in middle school when the coach lets the two siblings handle a training camp one time, and they are really... complicated and confusing.

But what made it surprising is that we improved drastically... mentally and physically. We were able to learn some tactics that people who grew up with no rules to follow on how they play, in short, streetball. My eyes widen when I saw a player was about to hit his elbow to Hyuga-senpai when Teppi block the player's elbow with his arm and passed the ball to Makochi and was able to pass through Izuki-senpai and made a score.

Damn, I heard what Teppi said to Makochi that he won't let his teammates get hurt!

Looks like it is time to help Teppi and use that right now.

My intention for this is for Teppi, I know that I look like I am spoon-feeding him but my intention here is to avoid Teppi getting hurt as much as possible, of course with the help of Tetsuchi with his ability of misdirection.

My eyes twitch for some reason and my instinct made my head turn towards a certain area in the audience area, with the hundred people watching, I saw his eyes looking at me directly. With his heterochromia eyes to mine, looks like Seichi is pointing out something, I am not sure but looks like he is trying to say that I should be really careful when using my ability. Although I know the consequences, I need to.

I put my focus back on the game as the game continues on with the opponents being rough with my team despite the referee not knowing, I say this is an impressive skill but it would have been handle if we have enough players to sub in, but right now, we have to endure this.

I suddenly stood up from my seat when I saw a certain red baka head lifted his fist and was about to throw a punch at a player, I was about to react when my brother grabs him by his feet and trip him over and face planted on the floor.

I facepalm creating a slapping sound on my forehead and told Rikochi for a time out, she agreed as well. Once they went to the bleacher I gave Taichi a good smack on his head and looked at me angrily.

"Hey!" I look at him seriously.

"What were you doing Taichi, do you want to ruin the game with your anger?" I scolded him in english.

"We are all angry too, Taichi. But it is not the best action to take especially for our senpais." I told him, Tetsuchi who is beside us agreed as well.

"We must beat them in basketball." Tetsuchi finishes and I agreed. He was quiet for a moment and apologized for his actions, good I need to talk to Tetsuchi.

"Tetsuchi, it is time," I said to him, to give him the idea.

He then nodded at me and the time out has come to the end with them going back to the court. We all sat down and watched the continuation of the play.

Let's do this Tetsuchi.

I rely my eyes on you, Tetsuchi.
