Chapter 22 Bad

Kuroko Tetsumi

This is bad, really bad for them.

It's already half of the second quarter and Tetsuchi and the others are already having trouble. Why? 

Shinchi is passing and faking his moves now. I am aware that this will happen anytime since I don't want to use my predictions, this is difficult than I thought. I mean, I have faith in our team that they can handle since Seirin is complete now with Teppi playing and we are in full force! I really want to help my team, but it's their game not mine alone, I already helped and that's what I said to Taichi, the rest is motivating and doing according to our plan and tactics.

I know this would happen! Yes, this is their trump card; the coordination of Shinchi and his teammates. But I expect more from Shinchi, I just know that he has something in him that will use it against Taichi. It's their one on one after all, Shinchi is a type of prideful person, he only plays for himself, but now... he's relying on his team. 

You've improved a lot... I smiled at the thought, you already broke free from the past and what you used to be even before you became the Generation of Miracles.

"This is bad..." Rikochi reacted I nodded, we were both watching at the game thinking of something that may help our team. So far, our coordination to analyze the situation has helped them improve and I am proud of being a friend with my senpai. Just like how Makichi and I did when we were at the same club.

Remembering those memorable days made me smile sadly.

"Yes, they can't pinpoint Shinchi's next move. Plus Takao-kun's coordination with him." I said to her, she agrees.

Teppi and Taichi went double team Shinchi. It was a good plan but... will it work out? The excitement and the intense atmosphere are going around the stadium, I can hear from my place the cheer of both teams. I was too focused on the game where I can't even cheer with them. The ball is going back and forth as I watch the ball being stolen by the two teams, neither of the team doesn't want them score and that was the intense part!

Izuki-senpai was about to pass the ball to Hyuga-senpai when a Shutoku player stole it and pass it to Shinchi. All of us in the bleacher is on the edge while I stared hard on Shinchi as he positions himself for a three-point shoot!

Then I saw Taichi's reaction, he is confused because he can't even tell if Shinchi will shoot or will fake it. He then jumped to block when he saw Shinchi was about to shoot. But wrong move!

He faked it! Shinchi bounced the ball to the floor and stepped forward behind Taichi and shoot the ball from there! That quick! 

"I won't let you!!"Taichi roared, he jumped again without setting his feet on the floor properly, but Shinchi already shoots the ball.

Will it go in...?!  We all thought the same as we watch the ball went across the court to the ring of Shutoku.

Will it shoot?! No... the rotation of the ball is not...?! I thought almost standing to see if it's really going in.

The ball went down smoothly. But the thing is... it didn't go in the ring, instead, it bounced on the ring! All of us on the bleacher cheered. I looked at the two of them who are now talking and glaring lightning bolts at each other. I focused my attention on Taichi when I noticed something wrong with him, his feet, they're starting to get more tired.

All of us sighed with relief talking about how Taichi was able to touch the ball before it releases... but wait.

It was then I realized something, my head snapped towards the ball that bounced on the ring. No one didn't notice yet so stood up fully from my sit.

"The ball!!" I shouted, snapping all of the people in the court from daydreaming.

Then I saw Tetsuchi already running towards the ball while Takao-kun chasing him from behind. I saw his face that he was shocked by Tetsuchi's presence that got away from his sight.

Once Tetsuchi caught the ball, he used his fast passes towards Hyuuga-senpai who is waiting for the ball. He then positioned himself and shoot the ball from the three-point lane. We scored!

"We scoooooorreed!!" We all cheered ＼(*T▽T*)／

As the game went on, my focus is on a red-headed baka who is guarding Shinchi whenever he gets the chance to have the ball. It must be really tiresome to block him since he can either shoot or pass, we cant tell. By Taichi's movements, he is starting to get tired which makes me worry for him.

"This is bad Rikochi! Taichi is getting tired." I finally said, I grabbed my pen and wrote something on my clipboard. I can't just leave Taichi like this, we must call for a time out very soon.

"Yes, he's been on Midorima for the whole time. He can't jump forever to block his shot." Rikochi said as she narrows her eyes on the court.

As I was looking at the court, I saw the team surrounded Teppi. I smiled when I saw Teppi giving them some motivation. Somehow, at this time, he is good at encouraging them...

"First, we have to sub Kuroko out!" I heard him say. Eh? I saw Tetsuchi stiffened.

"If your misdirection isn't working anymore, you'll be a hindrance to the team." I sweatdropped as I saw Tetsuchi's body became transparent. I'm sorry Tetsuchi, this is how Teppi is. For the best.

Well, I have been observing Tetsuchi for awhile now. He wasn't able to move freely because of Takao-kun guarding him all the time, knowing how Tetsuchi's role in the court. Although I am proud of him awhile ago because he was able to catch the ball when Takao-kun isn't guarding him. He was able to get away from his hawk eye for a second.

I looked at Rikochi who is now standing with Mitobe-senpai. I guess they're serious about subbing Tetsuchi out. Well, I guess it's good for the team... for now.

The referee blew the whistle signaling the substitution of Seirin. Tetsuchi walked towards where the coach is standing, he then high-fived Mitobe-senpai before he went to the bleacher where we're sitting on. He sat beside me.

"Welcome back!" I chirped when Tetsuchi sat down between me and Furihata-kun, I gave him his towel.

"Don't worry! You'll get your chance." Furihata-kun said as he gave Tetsuchi his water bottle.

I saw Tetsuchi lit up his head and a faint smile plastered on his face, "For some reason, I'm not nervous." He said then looked at me, "because I believe in them."

"Yeah, I believe in them too!" I smiled before I focus on the court where the game is starting again.

Do your best, Seirin!

Third Person's POV

"Oh no, I'm late!" A certain pink-haired girl gasped as she finally reaches the stadium after running up the long stairs.

"That Ahomine! Why do I even bother asking him to come with me to watch the game! I wasted my time on him! and besides, how could he leave a girl like me all alone!" She said to herself and pouted, "I should've told him that Tetsumi-chan is back!" but she shook off the idea because she knows too well that her childhood friend would just pester her friend by asking her to play basketball with him. But she would always turn his invite down.

The stadium full of audience roared making her look at the court where the two teams are battling. She saw the Shutoku made another three points by her former teammate, Midorima.

Freaky as always... She thought of herself as she leans on the railing but was surprised when someone called her making her turn towards the person beside her.

"Eh? Ki-chan! you're here!" She said and saw a person named Kise, he smiled at her.

"Momochi, you're here too! And could you stop naming me like that?" The blonde said as he finally went closer to the girl who called him by the weird nickname.

"But Ki-chan will always be Ki-chan!" she giggled a little, "But you call people with you nicknames too!" she sheepishly smile, mocking him. "You alone?"

The blonde just shook his head and pouted and leaned on the rail, " Yeah. I tried inviting my senpais but they all turned me down! It was heart aching!" he whined.

Momoi sweatdropped and pouted with Kise. She was the same as him; inviting someone but turned down.

"Well.. it'll be awkward watching with someone I lost to. But the winter cup participations are already decided on that!" Kise stated as he looks at her beside him.

"Yeah..." She said and smiled sadly, but she quickly remembered her reason why she was here in the first place. "Oh, that's right! how is the match going?" She then watched the game.

"Well... it's becoming really interesting. What makes it more interesting is Tetsumichi! How will she gonna help Seirin now?" Kise said and narrowed his eyes one the little bluenette who is now looking serious and troubled of what's happening on her team.

"Is she not using that?" Momoi asked, but the blonde shook his head lightly.

"I don't think so. Probably Kurokochi and that Iron Heart told her that she's not allowed to use it." He answered, making his friend nodded.

As the game goes on, the cheer of the audience made an impact when the Seirin was able to steal the ball from the Shutoku. The intense and excitement grew more and more around the stadium as the two teams desperately steal the ball at each other.

"Ara, ara~ What do we have here now?"

Kise and Momoi suddenly jolt straight up when two arms hang both of their shoulders. They felt a sudden chill down in their spine as they slowly looked at the person in between them. It was--

"O-onee----" Kise was not able to say a word when the person standing between them cut him off by smiling at him. The blonde couldn't take it anymore of what he just saw and just did an anime fainted with dramatical and musical with moe moe~ background and blood spread all over the floor while his face is as red as a tomato.

"Baka as always..." said the girl as she sweatdrops from what happened to her long-time friend and looks beside where Momoi is standing, "long time no see, Satsuki-chan~" she said sheepishly as her other friend just gapped at her.

"M-M-Mei-nee-chan?!" Momoi utters as the girl name Mei smiled at her. She then let go from placing her arm on the girl's shoulder.

"Hi! It's me!" she giggles from their cute reaction, "I just wanted to say hi since it's been a while, but I really like to spend time with you two but I have a friend waiting. so... see you later you two!" she waved her hand and bid her farewell as the Momoi still shock from Mei's sudden presence, while the other one fainted.

Momoi realizes that her friend fainted from what happened and helped him.

As Mei went back to her seat with the audiences, she can't help but smile from seeing the two since they are her friends, especially to him.

"What's with the happy face, Mei-chan? You already met with him?" her friend asks as she took her seat, she just giggles.

"No, I just ran into some of my friends back in my middle school and they are just so cute!" She said laughing lightly, "so, what happened?" she asks.

"Looks like Tetsumi is troubled because she can't use her little prediction on her new team." her friend replied, she just nodded.

As the two watches the game, Mei was looking at the two players having their one on one battle, she smiled as she remembered her time in America where sometimes she watches their game.

"Taiga improved a lot since that day," Mei spoke to herself in fluent english, her friend looked at her confused but disregard what she just said and smiled at her friend.

"How about you Reo-nee, what do you think will happen to the lil' crownless queen?" She asks him.

He thought for a moment and just laughs at her question.

"Well, I say she use it!"
