Chapter 29

John's POV

"Laf! We agreed to no gifts!""Yeah! Now I feel bad," Eliza added."I know, but since I am flying to France, and I won't see you guys until New Years Eve, I wanted to do a little something special. And, it just so happens that I have got extras for any special guests." I looked over at Maria, who looked like she was just told that she won the lottery. I like her. She was really sweet to Lex and I that one day at the diner, so I'm glad she is part of our friend group. Lafayette then proceeds to stand up and hand out envelopes to everyone. I opened mine, and immediately smiled. "A turtle card." "Yeah," Laf responded. "I picked them out specially for all you guys, except Maria. Sorry bought that.""No worries. I'm just glad I could be included." We were all sitting on the floor of Alex and I's living room in a circle. I looked over to see everyone opening their cards and smiling to themselves. Jubilation was not a strong enough word to describe my emotions. I continued with the gift. Inside the beautiful green card was a gift card to Michaels Craft Store. (A/N: I could spend hours in that store btw) I looked over to Hamilton to see what he got. Barnes and Noble. (A/N: yet another store to spend my life in.)"Thanks Laf! This is so sweet," I heard Peggy say from across the room."What did everyone get," Eliza asked."Well, I got Alex a Barnes and Noble gift card. I hope you don't have all the books in the world yet." I looked to Alex, who was laughing at the cleverness of his gift, and pecked him on the cheek. "For John I got Michaels Craft Store. I figured you might need some new art supplies after a while." I smiled and Lex rested his head on my shoulder. "For Ms. Maria I got a gift card to the Spa. I figured whoever would be joining our friend group, would be dealing with a lot of stress." Everyone broke out into laughter, including Maria. I caught a glimpse at Peggy, who was staring at Maria and... was she blushing? Hmmm. Interesting. It was true, nonetheless, what Laf said. A lot happened within this group. "I appreciate it, monsieur." Lafayette looked very joyed at the fact that Maria had spoken his language. "For Eliza, a Sephora gift card, even though you are already trés belle." Eliza reached over and gave Laf a side hug. "For Angelica, I also got a Barnes and Noble gift card. I figured you would use it just as much as Alexander. You are both trés intelligente!" Can't argue that. "For Ms. Margarita Schuyler, I got an iTunes gift card and a Forever21 gift card. I don't think I have ever been around you when you aren't wearing amazing clothes and humming very catchy songs." I looked over at Peggy, who seemed very flattered. Out of the corner of my eye, I swore I saw Maria looking adoringly at Peggy. Again, interesting. "And lastly, for mon amour, Hercules. For you I got a gift card to The Cheesecake Factory. In the the eleventh grade, you had a date with that girl, Abagail, who by the way, I always thought was stuck up." This made Herc and I giggle, knowing excited what Lafayette was talking about. "Anyway, you had this date planned out with her, at the Cheesecake Factory. I went out shopping that night, and saw her in the mall, instead of with you. Being the good person I am, I punched her." The whole group laughed at this. As caring and sweet as the French Man was, I think I speak for everyone when I say that he is pretty intimidating and could probably win a war. "I left the mall, and drove to the restaurant, and ate dinner with you. I think it was in that moment that I knew that I wanted to be with you. And now, look around." Everyone exchanged glances and smiles. "Here we are." Herc took Lafayette's chin and kissed him. "Ugh get a room," Alex exclaimed from my shoulder. "Leave em alone. It's adorable," added Maria. When they pulled away, we all climbed on top of Laf as our way of saying thank you. The rest of the night was filled with just as much love and happiness.

Alex POV

"Thanks again for the invite, I had a lot of fun!" "I'm so glad you came! I think you fit in perfectly with us." I wrapped my arms around the girl. "Merry Christmas Alexander.""Merry Christmas Maria. And hey listen," I pulled away, keeping my hand on her shoulders. "If you need anything, you know where to find me." She pulled back in. After a few seconds she walked out the door and down the hallways, looking back and waving once she got to the elevator. I shut the door and turned around to find John standing in front of me. "Merry Christmas babe." He stepped closer to me. "Merry Christmas Johnny." I pulled the man into a kiss. I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him close to me. "I love you Lex," he said when we finally pulled away. "I love you too." He stared into my eyes for a few seconds. Those few moments were bliss. It was just us. On Christmas Eve. Silence. No one hurting us. No one telling us that we couldn't love each other. Just the two of us. "Now. The question is, do you want your present now, or tomorrow?" It didn't take much for me to come up with an answer. "Tomorrow! Duh! Why would I want to kill the Christmas magic and receive before the day itself?!" He laughed at the response, causing me to smile. "Whatever you fucking say Hamilton." I stared at him a little longer, talking him in. "You are exquisite John Laurens." I must have made him blush, for he hung his head down, as to hide his embarrassment. I pulled him closer again and lifted his head up. "I am madly in love with you Alexander Hamilton." Just then, he smashed his lips onto mine. We stayed like that for a few minutes, only stopping to breathe. Finally, I spoke up. "There is a fucking mess in this dorm room and I don't feel like cleaning any of it." We both busted out laughing. John wrapped his arm around my shoulder, still laughing, and guided me into our bedroom. "Let's go to bed already!" I laughed again, and got changed into my pajamas. I got into bed, John following me. He wrapped his arms around my waist. "Merry Christmas Lex." "Merry Christmas Johnny."And with that, I fell asleep in my boyfriends beautiful arms.

1150 words. My godA/N: 1:39 am. Jesus. Tmrw is New Years. Next chapter is gonna be XMAS day, and then New Years Eve. That's all I wanna say right now. Night 🌙💛😘
