Chapter 27

John's POV Dec. 17

In the many years I have known him, Hercules Mulligan never fails to take hours to answer my phone calls. I try Lafayette. Still, nothing. I walked along the sidewalk, towards the Starbucks I worked at. I still had a few blocks to go. Finally, I feel a buzzing in my back pocket. I pulled out my phone and pressed it to my ear

J: "Took you long enough."H:"Sorry man, I was with a costumer."J:"Who knew being a stylist was so time consuming."H:"It is for the people who do it right. Anyway, what's up?"J:"Christmas is in a few days, obviously, and I was thinking about having the gang over for dinner on Christmas Eve. You in?"H:"Of course! When have you ever known me to turn down a party?"J:"Not exactly a party, but whatever helps you sleep. I will text Laf, but if you get in touch with him faster than me, please ask if he will be joining us."H:"Of course Johnny Boy."J:"Thanks Mulligan. Talk to you later."H:"Bye!"

Dial tone.

It had been two days since I figured out what I was getting for Hamilton, and I had been working hard. Some may say two hard, but there was week left. This was going to be special. Speaking of the man, I get a text.

Lex💛: the Schuyler's can come. Me: yay! Thanks babeLex💛: mind if I invite one other person?Another person?Me: of course my love. see you later

Obviously Alex had a life outside of John, but who could this other person be? Trying not to worry about it too much, I continued to walk to work.

Alex POV

I place my phone down on my bed and start looking. I know she gave me a piece of paper in the taxi that one day. But where did I put it? I looked under my bed, in my drawers, in my closet, and any where else where I could think of. Finally, it hit me. I ran back to my closet, and starting looking for my blue jeans in my hamper. After two long minutes of searching, BINGO, a number."Hello?""Hi? Who is this?""My name is Alexander. The one from the taxi and the diner.""Oh yeah! You're the one with the really cute boyfriend!"I laughed awkwardly. She must have noticed."Oh don't worry. He's all yours.""Thanks. It's Maria, right?""Yes, sir. How may I help you?""Well my boyfriend, John, and I are having a few people over to our dorm on Christmas, and I wanted to know if you would like to come. I remember you said you loved Christmas parties, so I figured I would give you a call.""Sounds awesome! I really appreciate the invite! I'm surprised you remember that little fact. That was over three months ago.""Small man, big brain.""Yeah, I see that," she said. I could hear her smiling through the phone."Alrighty. I will text you the information. Guess I'll see you then Maria!""Perfect! Thanks again Alex!"

When I moved here, I never would have guessed that it would be this easy to make friends. I sat on my bed, thinking about how amazing my life had become, compared to how god awful it used to be. I was so lucky to be alive.

A/N happy merry Christmas eve eve or eve or day or whatever depending on when you read this! Sorry it was so short, just felt like I needed to update. Make sure you read my two other books on here. I started a one shot book. I probably won't update that often, but if i ever have a plot idea that doesn't fit this story, i will make it a one shot. I also have a rant/free thought book. Anyway, enjoy!!! I love you guys and have an amazing night. 😘
