Olivia Malfoy's POV

ONE YEAR LATER

I sigh as I open the door and step into the Manor. The kids are with their grandparents today, which means Draco and I have a rare moment alone. I don't waste a secondโ€”I hurry to our room, leap into his arms, and kiss him hard. He looks shocked but kisses me back without hesitation. Then he wraps his arms around me and flips us over onto the bed. I smile against his lips before pulling away.

"What was that for?" he asks, breathless as I pepper kisses all over his face. "I needed that. Long day," I say, frowning. "What happened?" He tucks a stray hair behind my ear gently. "Argh, I hate my job," I mutter, shaking my head.

"Well, good evening to you too," he replies sarcastically, amused by my mini tantrum.

"So, I'm guessing your day wasn't great either," he says as I get up to change out of my work clothes. "Believe me, being an Auror isn't easy," I say, tossing my bra on the floor. Draco smirks. "No!" I point at him, and he just rolls his eyes before pulling me back onto his lap.

"Will you tell me what happened?" he asks, rubbing soothing circles on my back. I sigh and settle against him.

"Well, apparently, the Minister of Magic thinks she can dump endless paperwork and impossible deadlines on us just because she can," I grumble, snuggling my head into the crook of his neck.

"I thought the Minister was your best friend?"

"I thought so too. Turns out my best friend's a bit of a bitch," I say with a huff.

"Woahโ€”"

"Hey, I'm joking. Mostly. But yeah, she's piling on work because she knows I'm the best she's got," I cut him off. "Darling, how many times do I have to tell you? If you want to quit, you can. We're set," he says, cupping my face with a smile.

"For the first time, I'm seriously thinking about it," I admit, looking down. "Aw, come on. I think there's something in the mail that'll cheer you up," he says as I stand up. "What is it?" I ask, scanning the letters scattered on the table.

"It's addressed to you. Did you forget I respect privacy?" he teases. I shake my head and pick up the letter. It's from Professor McGonagall.

I open it and read, disbelief and tears welling up. After all this time, that man cared more than I realized.

"What do you think?" I ask, handing the letterโ€”more like Dumbledore's willโ€”to Draco. He reads carefully and looks back at me.

The letter says:

Dear Olivia,

I hope this letter finds you well. It is a great pleasure to send this to you after all these years. When you were abducted during the Second Wizarding War, the others mentioned in my will received their bequests, but you did not. I look forward to seeing you soon. And yes, how would Mr. Malfoy like to be our new Potions Master?

All my love, Minerva McGonagall

Herein is set forth the last will and testament of Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore.

First, to Ronald Bilius Weasley, I leave my Deluminator, a device of my own making, in the hope that when things seem darkest, it will show him the light.

Second, to Hermione Jean Granger, I leave my copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard, in the hope she finds it entertaining and instructive.

Third, to Harry James Potter, I leave the Snitch he caught in his first Quidditch match, a reminder of perseverance and skill, and The Sword of Godric Gryffindor, so he knows he is a true Gryffindor.

Fourth, to Olivia Aurora Montgomery, I leave my post as Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. When you are of age, or when Minerva retires, you may take over and run the school with your intelligence, power, and might.

Albus Dumbledore

Draco looks up from the letter, his eyes bright. "It's amazing, don't you think?" he says, practically bouncing. "Unless you don't want it."

"I don't know, Draco. That's a lot of responsibility," I say, pacing.

"Look, you're fed up with your job. You've told me how much you'd love teaching at Hogwarts. You could pick a subjectโ€”there's no rule that the Headmistress can't teach. And Carina's joining us this year, if you take it." He places his hands on my shoulders.

"You know what? I'll do it!" I say, grinning.

We jump up and down, laughing, kissing, until the kids burst into the room. "Ew, are you guys done?" Scorpius groans, making us laugh.

"What's all the fuss about?" Carina asks, eyes wide.

"Guess who's the new Headmistress of Hogwarts?" Draco says, and I smirk proudly.

ONE MONTH LATER

We apparate to King's Cross, standing just outside the barrier to Platform 9ยพ.

"Ready?" Draco asks Carina, who's about to start her Hogwarts journey this year. She nods nervously, clutching his hand. Draco and Carina run straight through the wall like pros.

"Let's go, Mama," Scorpius says, tugging my hand toward the wall.

As usual, we're the first ones here, so we wait for the others to arrive.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't the Headmistress of Hogwarts," Hermione says with a sharp edge. She's still mad I resigned from the post. "Minister," I greet her with a subtle nod.

"Headmistress," she replies, nodding back.

The train arrives, blowing its whistle, and I sigh, turning to face my kids.

I point at Scorpius first. "Now, Scorp, I don't want any more complaints from teachers about you and Albus causing havoc around the school." He nods seriously.

Then I turn to Carina. "Carina Lyra Malfoy, if I catch you using your powers inside school when it's not necessary, or worse, if you use them to bully other students, I'll send you straight to Beauxbatons."

Yeah, my daughter definitely got some of my powers. Apparently, she was born with them. Guess the magic runs strong in the girls of the family. She might look like me and have my magic, but she's definitely her father's daughter.

"Father!" she whines, and Draco throws his hands up like he's surrendering. "Your mother's the boss now, love," Draco says, and I smirk. "Both of you," I add, "just because your father and I are there doesn't mean you'll get out of detention."

"But Grandpa Snape never gave you detentions, and even if he did, he never made you do anything," Carina protests. "Do not interrupt me, young lady. Grandpa Snape had a lot to apologize for, and this was one way he did it. I raised youโ€”" I start, but Draco clears his throat.

"Your father and I raised you with love, care, affection, and money, so yes, if it comes down to it, I will send you both to detention," I finish, and Draco silently mouths, I won't.ย "Yes, he will," I say, glaring at him.

"You both will refer to us as Mr. or Mrs. Malfoy, or Professor and Headmistressโ€”not Mama and Father, got it?" I ask firmly. They nod quickly.

"Good. Now, come here, give me a hug," I say, pulling them close.

Carina looks around nervously at the other kids, her age, who all seem excited but scared too. I kneel and ask, "What is it, Cari?"

"What if I'm not sorted into Slytherin?" she whispers. I sigh and stroke her hair. "We're not going to love you any less, sweetheart."

"Do not come home if you get sorted into any other house," Draco says, deadpan, and Carina's eyes widen in shock. "Shh, Draco! He's kidding, Cari. We'll be proud of you no matter what," I say, kissing her forehead.

"I love you, Mama," she says, wrapping me in a hug.

"I love you too, Carina. So much," I whisper back. No matter how stern I sound sometimes, my love for my daughter is just as deep as it is for my son.

I settle into the head chair at the middle of the table and let out a long sigh. My eyes sweep the Great Hall, and a warm, nostalgic feeling wraps around my chest. Scorpius catches my gaze and beams a wide smile at me. Albus waves happily beside him, and I wink back, waving subtly.

The first years hurry into the hall, led by Neville, their new Herbology teacher. I smile warmly at him as they enter.

"When I call your name, come forward," Professor Longbottom announces, holding up the Sorting Hat. "I will place the hat on your head, and it will sort you into your house."

One by one, the students go up. When Carina's name is called, she walks to the stage and shoots me a nervous smile. I return it with a reassuring one. She sits in the chair, and I lean forward a bit, heart pounding. Unlike Scorpius, the Sorting Hat takes its time with her, making Draco and me nearly topple out of our seats.

"GRYFFINDOR!" the hat finally yells, setting off cheers from the Gryffindor table. I clap happily and raise my glass at her. Carina looks at me, then at Draco, who's a little less thrilled but still proud.

After the sorting is done, Professor Neville clears his throat. "Now, our Headmistress would like to say a few words."

I stand and clear my throat, feeling a bit nervous but ready. "Good evening, students. Welcome to another year at Hogwarts. I'm no Minerva McGonagall, but I am your new Headmistress, Olivia Malfoy..." The students start murmuring.

"Yes, yes, you may have heard about my family. So let me be very clearโ€”there will be no name-calling, bullying, or racial slurs in my school. Half-bloods and Muggle-borns will be treated with respect. I will not tolerate harsh words against any student or my family."

I pause, scanning their faces. "A few start-of-term notes: First years, the Forbidden Forest is exactly thatโ€”forbidden. Stay out of it. Now, let me introduce you to our new Potions Master, Professor Malfoy; our Herbology teacher, Professor Longbottom; and for Defence Against the Dark Arts, Professor Potter. That's all for today. Thank you, and enjoy the feast!"

I clap my hands twice, signaling the start of the feast.

Later, after the hall empties, the teachers gather near my table. "I've made a few changes to the school rules," I tell them. "Please familiarize yourselves. That's about it."

As Draco and I head to our room, he leans close and whispers, "You look sexy in command, Headmistress." I smirk, change into something more comfortable, and climb into bed with him, a book in hand.

"Shall we?" I ask as he settles with his head in my lap.

He nods, and I start reading aloud.

"'Does that young lady know Mr. Darcy?' Elizabeth inquired. 'A little,' she replied. 'And do you not think him a very handsome gentleman, ma'am?' 'Yes, very handsome...'"

Here we areโ€”married for fourteen years, with two children, lying happily in bed reading Pride and Prejudice, just like we promised each other when we were young.

The best feeling in the world is watching everything finally fall into place after so long of watching it fall apart.
