~Chapter One~

Day after the incident

Yams is sitting in the classroom trying to focus and pay attention to what the teacher is saying but is having a hard time because of an incident that happened the previous day. It was all he ever thought about lately. Why did Tsukki say those things yesterday? He thought, he looked over to his childhood friends seat that was seated over by the window. As always Tsukishima was just staring out the window. I just don't understand what he meant. Yams thought again blushing at the memory that happened the previous day.

Day of the incident

Yams and Tsukki are eating lunch together on the rooftop, a habit the two started a while ago when tsukki said he didn't like eating in a classroom full of loud people. "I saw you talking to a girl after class, what did she want?" Tsukki said randomly.

Yams thought for a moment trying to recall what he was talking about "Oh that, she was asking me a question about the work in class today." yams said as he took a sip of his drink. Tsukki glanced at him and nodded slightly. "Is that all she wanted?" Tsukki says while looking at yams with a questionable look, yamaguchi nodded and didn't think any more of it.

When they finished eating, yams offered to throw Tsukkis trash away for him but Tsukki shook his head no and instead grabbed the trash yams had in his hand and threw it away for him.

Yams stood there surprised, Tsukki has never done anything like that before, it's actually really nice of him. Yams thought with a smile on his face. Tsukki came back ready to walk back to class with yams and they continued walking back to class since lunch was about to end anytime now.

When they were in the classroom and were near yams desk. Yams wanted Tsukki to know he had appreciated the gesture from lunch."H-hey Tsukki.." yams said, trying to hide his face and trying his best not to get flustered.

Tsukki looked down at yams wondering what he was trying to say to him "I j-just wanted to say thank you for throwing my stuff away at lunch, I know it may not seem like a big deal to you but I still really appreciated it". Yams says with a cheeky smile.

Tsukki gives him a gentle smile and gives him a couple of gentle head pats, at first yams was surprised but actually enjoyed the head pats. Tsukki made his way to his desk and pulled out his headphones and listened to music until class officially started.

Yams sat down at his desk and continued to smile to himself, he didn't know why he wanted Tsukki to pat his head again, he surprisingly enjoyed the warm feeling that came with it.

While Yams was lost in thought the teacher walked through the door saying today's lesson plans which surprised him. Quickly getting out of his thoughts yams regained himself and started paying attention.

Timeskip to Yams + Tsukkis Last Class.

After class the same girl who asked yams a question the other day came to his desk. "Oh.. uh hey." yams said awkwardly because he didn't know what else to say to her. "Hey I was wondering if I could borrow your notes from today, I think I missed a couple of parts." she said while smiling at him.

"Oh yea sure, I don't mind, I have volleyball until 7 so I guess you can give it back when I am done." he said while giving her his notebook. "Thanks it means alot, you're a real lifesaver, I will give it back after your practice."

Yams nodded and packed up his things. After the girl left Tsukki came up to him and waited for him to be done packing his stuff up.

"So what did she want again." Tsukki says with a slightly irritated tone. Yams gave him a confused look at the tone of his voice but didn't pay much attention to it. "She wanted my notes so I gave them to her, she's giving them back after practice." Yams says while shrugging slightly.

Tsukki nodded and they started walking towards the gym for practice. By the time they stopped at the clubroom and got changed and went into the gym everyone had already arrived.

"Alright, everyone is here so let's get started. I would like everyone to either group up or partner up, or work alone if you'd like, and we will just be working on our receives, passes, and sets for today." Daichi says while tying his shoe.

Yams expected to be on his own because he didn't really feel like working with anyone and he thought Tsukki might want to be by himself. Yams sighed and went to get a volleyball. "H-hey Yams."

Yams looks over his shoulder to find Tsukki with a volleyball in his hands. "Did you want to be my partner?" Tsukki says while looking at the ground. "Yeah i'd love to."

Yams said, walking to an empty area with Tsukki. "Alright I'll set for you, and well just pass back and forth." Tsukki says while setting the ball to Yams. They continue hitting it back and forth to each other for a little while occasionally messing up now and then but they get back on track

They continued this for a while until Yams noticed someone at the door looking at him. Right when Yams was about to tell Tsukki to pause, Tsukki passed the ball back to Yams, since Yams was distracted he didn't notice the ball came down and hit him on the head. It didn't hurt him alot but it did surprise him.

"Oh shoot, I'm so sorry yams, are you ok?" Tsukki says while touching the spot where the ball hit. Yams giggles a little bit because of how worried Tsukki is. "I'm fine Tsukki, I just got distracted, I will be right back."

Yams jogs over to the girl from his classroom who is holding his notebook in her hands. "Hey, I know I'm a little early but I figured I might as well drop the notebook off now, oh and by the way are you ok I saw the ball hit your head?" She says while touching where the ball hit.

Yams frowned a little, he didn't really like how she touched his head, when Tsukki touched his head he got butterflies in his stomach and enjoyed it but when she did he didnt feel anything at all and didn't like it.

"Yeah I'm fine it didnt hurt a lot." He says while slightly pulling away. The girl smiles and tucks her hair behind her ear. "Here is your notebook." She says handing him the notebook. "Thanks, I hope it helped." Yams said taking the notebook and setting it down on the ground next to the door. "Yeah it was a lot of help, thanks again." She says again smiling.

"I have to get back to practice, i'll see ya around I guess." Yams says unsure of what else to say. "Yeah i'll see you around." She says laughing a little. Yams turns around and lightly jogs back to Tsukki who is glaring not at him but behind him at the girl.

"Hey Tsukki, I'm back, sorry about that she just came to give my notes back." Yams said while smiling at Tsukki. "It's fine, let's continue, practice is almost over so let's practice what we can." Tsukki says smiling a little at Yams. Yams nods and they continue practicing.

After practice Yams grabs his notebook and walks with Tsukki and the others back to the clubroom to change clothes. While in the clubroom Kageyama and Hinata are bickering like always, yams laughs from time to time about what they say to each other.

"I don't know why you keep saying it was an accident Crapayama." Hinata says while glaring at Kageyama. "You almost hit the ball directly to my face more than I can count today, so that's why I know it wasn't a so-called-accident at all." Kageyama gives him a glare as well.

"Well maybe you should learn how to hit the ball dumbass." Kageyama says, bending down to Hinatas level. "Oh shut your face Crapayama." You could tell they were about to start hitting each other but Daichi stepped in and told them to knock it off.

"Geez, so loud." Tsukki says while glancing in Kageyama and Hinatas direction. Yams laughs at Tsukkis remark and finishes packing his things. By the time yams is done getting his stuff together, Tsukki is waiting for Yams outside of the door so they can walk home together like always.

Yams and Tsukki start walking the way they normally do, it was pretty chilly outside and Yams mentally scolds himself for not bringing a jacket. He shivers a little and Tsukki must have noticed because he started to take his jacket off to hand to Yams.

While Tsukki is taking off his jacket his shirt slides up a little, slightly revealing his stomach. Yams notices and he quickly looks away knowing his face is super red. It's not like he hasn't seen it before so he didn't know why he was getting so flustered all of a sudden.

"Here take this, I don't want you getting sick." Tsukki says quietly. Yams looks up and takes the jacket and smiles. "Thank you Tsukki." He says while putting the jacket on. Since Tsukki was taller than Yams, the jacket was bigger so yams was drowning in the hoodie, but he didn't mind at all.

Tsukki looked at Yams in his hoodie and smirked, for some reason he always liked seeing him in his clothes although he never said it aloud, ever since they were younger and yams needed to borrow any clothes Tsukki never hesitated to let him do so.

As they continued to walk they soon came to the intersection where they had to part ways. "D-do you want your hoodie back?" Yams asks shyly. "It's fine you can give it back whenever." Tsukki says with a small shrug. Truthfully he wanted him to keep it but felt it was too embarrassing to say aloud.

Tsukki looked at yams like he wanted to say something. "Ill see you tomorrow." Yams said turning around but before he could take a step he felt a tug on the sleeve of the hoodie he was wearing.

Yams looked up to see Tsukki looking towards the ground holding on to the sleeve. "I-i have a question." Tsukki says with a light shade of pink on his cheeks, it wasn't noticeable to someone far away but you could clearly see it up close.

"What is it?" Yams asks confused. Tsukki took a deep breath in and exhaled, "Did you..enjoy the feeling of her touching you?" Tsukki says, clearly embarrassed. "Who?" yams says trying to think of what he was meaning. "T-that girl, when she was giving you your notes back, I think she asked if you were ok and then touched your head where the ball fell." Tsukki says glancing up at Yams

"Oh her, well not really, it was kind of uncomfortable having her touch me." Yams said blushing a little, he was embarrassed to say this aloud. "Well how did you feel when I patted you on the head today and when I touched your head to see if you were ok, how did you feel?" Tsukki says while scratching the back of his neck.

Yams paused not really sure if he should tell Tsukki he actually enjoyed it. "W-well I actually." yams paused glancing up to look at Tsukki, " actually enjoyed it." Yams says fidgeting with the sleeve of the hoodie.

"I'm glad to hear that." Tsukki says smiling and patting Yams on the head a couple of times. Yams looks away to try and hide the blush that was forming on his cheeks.

Tsukki gives Yams one last pat on the head before turning and walking the way to his own house. Yams stood there in a daze, clearly happy about Tsukkis actions. Yams turns and walks towards his home blushing everytime he thinks of Tsukki patting his head.
