Cassie who had listened to Adaline and Nate's conversation was seething. She was beyond furious that Nate wanted nothing to do with her. She was hoping that there was still a slight chance for her to win him over.
But there was nothing she could do. She'd lost him to Adaline.
Cassie watched as Adaline went back into the auditorium. She never thought she could feel so much hate for someone that she used to love.
Following the Kingston girl, Cassie stood outside the door trying to decide what to do. Should she confront Adaline? Or should she just leave?
It really didn't take her long to make up her mind.
Rue seemed to be the only one to notice the emotional blonde stumbling down the auditorium stairs.
"Oh, God." She sighed as Cassie made her way to the stage.
"Lexi, you really outdid yourself." The Howard sister laughed walking up onto the stage. "I mean... where did she find these knock-offs."
"Oh, shit." Adaline cursed knowing this was not going to be good.
"I had no idea that my sister had this in her." The blonde fake gasped. "Good job, right? Isn't she brave?" She asked no one in particular. "She's up here, unpacking all of her trauma. I had no idea how hard your life was, Lexi. Can we give a round of applause for how hard Lexi's life is?"
People in the crowd began to awkwardly clap not knowing if this was apart of the play or not.
"Come on, guys." Cassie had a big smile as clapped for her younger sister. "I know they hack the heads off of women in Afghanistan or wherever."
"That's racist!" Someone in the crowd shouted out cutting her off.
"God. It is nothing compared to living in my shadow."
"Yo, is this like a part of the play?" Another person questioned aloud.
"I don't know. Lexi." Cassie smirked turning to look at her sister who was hiding in the shadows. "Is this part of the play? Lexi?"
"Stop, please stop." Lexi pleaded.
"This is your show. Come out!" The blonde exclaimed moving towards Lexi. "You're the big star of the day!"
"Please, Cassie, stop it." The girl cried trying to get away from her older sister.
"You're the star of the night. She's always wanted to be the star." Cassie sarcastically replied pulling Lexi out onto the stage for everyone to see.
"Whoo-hoo! Go, Lexi!" Someone cheered.
"This is your big moment. Shine!"
"Please, stop. Please, stop. Please, stop. Please, stop." Lexi whispered quietly.
"I should stop? Me?" Cassie asked playing dumb. "I'm not the one putting on a play to humiliate and embarrass you!"
"I didn't do that." Lexi shook her head.
"Oh, really?! Then what is this?! What act are we in?" Cassie wondered gesturing to the setup of the carnival behind them.
"Don't question it." Suze suddenly stood up from the crowd. "That's the brilliance of Lexi Howard." The woman announced coming in to save her youngest daughter. "Hi, everyone. I'm Suze. I'm the girls' mom in real life. Um, played by Ethan. Where is he? Ethan?" She questioned with a smile.
"Who by the way he... you have me down to a, to a, to a science, honey. Thank you. Thank you. I appreciate it. He's gonna win an award." Ethan gracefully came on stage and bowed. The crowd cheered for the boy before everyone's attention went back to the two girls on stage.
"Honey, let's go home." Suze begged as she walked onto the stage and made her way to Cassie.
"I deserve this, right?" The blonde scoffed looking at her sister. Her temper only got worse when Suze gripped onto her arm and tried to pull her off of the stage. "Oh my God, please, Mom, Mom. I deserve this?"
"Stop!" Both Lexi and Suze hissed at the girl.
"Mom, stop!"Cassie seethed pushing Suze off of her. "Lexi, I'm going to fսcking kill you."
Lexi rapidly shook her head she as tried to back away from her sister. Cassie wouldn't stop advancing towards the younger Howard. It looked like Cassie was about to pounce on the girl at any second.
"I deserve this, right? Because I've actually lived a life?" The blonde ranted. "I'm the one who takes risks. I'm the one who falls in love? I'm the one who gets hurt, not you, Lexi! You never even fսcking lived!"
"That's enough!" Suze yelled grabbing ahold of Cassie's arm once again.
In the audience Adaline simply sat there shocked. She never would have guessed Cassie would break down like this. As much as she despised the Howard girl, she also felt kind of bad. She was making a complete fool of herself right now.
"That's why you're able to stand up here and judge all of us! You're just a fսckin' bystander." That line was enough to make Adaline stand up. She slowly began making her way out of the isle. It was taking her a little longer than she would have liked seeing as she had to get past a couple of people.
The audience was booing Cassie as she continued to go off on a tangent. "Oh, okay... Well if that makes me a villain, then so fսckin' be it." She scoffed. "I can play the fսcking villain."
"Get off of the stage!" Adaline yelled making her way to said stage.
Cassie only smirked in response to Adaline's demand as she turned towards her sister. "Lexi, is this the part of the play where I steal Jake from Abby?"
"No, Cassie, that's not in the play." Lexi immediately denied looking into the audience at Adaline.
"It is now!" Maddy yelled at the same time that Adaline replied "You didn't steal shit from me!"
"Wait, Hallie steals Abby's boyfriend?" Someone in the audience gasped in shock.
"I don't know how many times I have to say this. They were not fսcking together." Cassie clarified because to her that made it okay.
"Yeah, not only that, but she was fսcking stalking him and blackmailing him to be with her the entire time he was trying to get back together with Abby!" Maddy yelled sticking up for Adaline.
"No... Why?" The same person questioned.
"Because Hallie is a two-faced cսոt." Adaline rolled her eyes.
"I'm not a cսոt! You're the cսոt!" Cassie screamed pointing at Adaline.
"You're the fսcking cսոt, bitch!" Maddy shot back.
"I am not a fսcking cսոt." Cassie continued to hyperventilate.
"Language, missy!" Suze scolded her daughter. "Okay, okay, you know what? You're just fսcking embarrassing yourself. Let's go home."
"I'm not going home. The play's not over." Cassie huffed at the same time that Lexi ran off stage. "Mom, this isn't fair!" The blonde complained as Suze practically dragged her down the stage stairs.
"It's not her fault. She's a writer. She's a writer!" The Howard woman spoke to the audience.
"This isn't fair, Mom! How can she do this...?"
______________________________Sorry for being absent. I've been getting used to college.
I'm going to try and get the next couple of chapters out in the next few days while I have time to write.
There's not much left of this story before it will be complete.
I'm not really sure if I'll be writing season 3 into this story or not. As of right now I'm not planning too.
But if anyone would like me to or has any suggestions on how I'd maybe include Adaline and the baby please let me know.
