"I can't believe that just happened!" Kat said shocked.
"Happy birthday to me." Maddy mumbled sarcastically as she cleaned her legs off with a towel.
Adaline was far too focused on what she just discovered to even pretend that she was listening to what her friends were saying.
"Take me home." She finally announced looking directly at Nate.
"What no Addie!" Maddy exclaimed. "It's too early to go."
"I need to go home." Adaline stated firmly. She wanted to say that if she didn't leave she'd probably end up murdering Cassie but she didn't want to ruin Maddy's party anymore. Plus Cassie was heavily intoxicated. Adaline wanted the blonde to be sober when she questioned her. She decided she'd just tell Maddy the next day.
"You have to stay." The Perez girl whined. "Please don't go."
"I'm sorry Mads but I'm just not feeling well."
"She did just basically puke up her entire stomach." Nate spoke backing the girl up.
"Uh fine." The dark haired girl huffed. "I hope you feel better."
"Thanks Mads." Adaline smiled the best fake smile she could put on and hugged her friend. "Happy birthday."
"Get her home safely!" Suze yelled towards Nate as he lead Adaline out the front door.
Did Nate find it weird how quiet the girl was being? Yes, but it wasn't as weird as the fact that she was actually letting him touch her. Nate was very shocked that Adaline didn't push him away when he went over to help her get into his truck.
The car ride home was silent. Adaline was trying to decide if she wanted to confront Nate tonight or wait until the morning when she had time to sit on the new information she'd learned.
Although her decision was made for her when Nate decided to start up a conversation.
"That whole Cassie thing was crazy." Nate chuckled glancing over at the brunette. "I can't believe she got drunk enough to puke in the hot tub."
"Yeah well I guess guilt does that to you." The Kingston girl began refusing to look away from Nate. She wanted to see the look on his face when he realized that she knew. "I can't imagine keeping such a big secret for so long. It's not surprising that she could only cope with the guilt by getting drunk."
"What do you mean?" Nate asked nervously.
"Oh I think you know Nate."
"Did something happen with her and McKay?"
"No. I don't think she like McKay anymore." Adaline answered. "I think she likes someone else."
"Really?"
"Yeah." She nodded. "Any guesses who?"
"No. I uh don't really know her well. I wouldn't know what her type is."
"That's funny because you seemed to know her pretty well when your tongue was down her throat at the New Years party."
"I don't know what you're taking about." Nate mumbled trying not to look Adaline in the eye.
"Cut the bullshit Nate. I'm so fucking sick of you lying to me." The girl exclaimed. "You fucking cheated on me with my best friend and you couldn't even tell me!"
"Ads-" He trailed off not knowing what to say.
"No! I went months continuing to be friends with someone that could give two shits about me!" Adaline screamed turning towards him. "You could have at least told me who it was when you told me that you kissed someone else."
"I told you not to hang out with her anymore."
"So what? You should have told me why!" Adaline was in tears but for once they weren't because she was sad. No, these were angry tears. "I was even considering making her the fucking god mother of our daughter!"
"I'm sorry baby!" Nate apologized reaching over and trying to grab the girl's hand.
"Don't baby me! You could have picked anyone else but it just had to be Cassie! One of my best fucking friends!"
"I know it's messed up. But I swear Ads it didn't mean anything. She was just there and convenient."
"Yeah, I bet." Adaline scoffed turning away from him.
"I'm serious. She's been trying to start something with me since it happened but I've told her multiple times that it was a mistake and that I love you."
"I really don't care at this point Nate." The girl tiredly responded. She just wanted to crawl into her bed and sleep until next year.
Adaline didn't understand why she just seemed to have the worst luck in the world.
As the two teenagers pulled into the driveway Nate could tell that Adaline was done talking for the night. She had completely shut down. If she was mad at him before then she was really pissed at him now.
Nate knew he fucked up again. He should have just told her it was Cassie when he told her everything else but he was scared. He didn't want to see her hurt but that's exactly how she was feeling now.
When the two finally pulled into the driveway, Adaline immediately jumped out of Nate's truck. She couldn't stand to be near him for another second.
"Ads please!" Nate pleaded trying to catch up with her before she could lock herself in her bedroom.
"Just leave me the fuck alone Nate!" She exclaimed trying not to completely flip out. "I seriously can't handle this right now."
Adaline was worried about what all of this stress was doing to her baby. So she tried to calm down as she sat on the edge of her bed staring at a picture of her and Nate. It was one of them from when they were children. They both looked so happy and untouched by the real world.
The Kingston girl had barely been asleep for more than ten minutes when she heard yelling coming from downstairs. Adaline sighed not wanting to deal with anything else that night.
"Mom, what's goin' on?" Adaline heard Aaron question as they both exited their rooms at the same time. Nate wasn't far behind them.
"Okay." Marsha sighed looking at her children. "Cal, put your dick away."
"Holy shit!" Adaline gasped as she finally noticed that Cal's pants were unzipped. She immediately turned her head away trying not to look at him. The sight of Cal fully exposed was probably one of the most disgusting things she'd ever seen.
If Adaline thought the videos of him were disturbing, it was nothing like seeing it in person.
"Yo, Dad, what the fսck are you doing?" Aaron asked clearly disturbed by the situation.
"I'm sorry." The Jacobs man laughed hysterically. "I was just... I was just telling your mother that I think I'm very lonely."
"Okay, but, like, can you put your fսcking dick away?"
"Okay, Cal, Cal, this is not funny." Marsha scolded him.
"What the fսck are you doing?" Nate finally spoke up moving himself in front of Adaline.
"You know what you four assholes are lookin' at?" Cal asked seriously. "The man with no name."
"What, what the fսck are you even saying?" Nate rolled his eyes. This was the last thing he wanted to be dealing with tonight.
"Yo, what the fսck is going on, guys?" Aaron was beginning to get really freaked out.
"I'm a rogue. I march to the beat of my own drum. You guys should've seen me tonight. I don't know if you would've been proud, but... ya might've been impressed."
"Cal, listen to me. I think you need to see a doctor. All right?" Marsha sighed trying to reason with her husband. "You're not, you're not you."
"No, Marsha. That's where you're wrong." Cal shook his head. "I am 100% me."
"Okay, you're scaring me now." Aaron said.
"You know why? 'Cause I'm a man. I'm an animal. I'm a mοtherfսckin' Rottweiler." Cal boasted beginning to walk up the steps. "You know how many men I've fսckеd?"
"What?!" Aaron shrieked.
Adaline awkwardly looked towards Marsha. She wasn't sure if the woman knew about her husband's affairs.
"Cal, stop it." Marsha demanded. "Cal, please. Please stop."
"Do you know how many men I've fսckеd?"
"Dad, why are you saying this?" Aaron was clearly clueless while Nate knew exactly what his father was talking about. Marsha didn't miss this fact. "I don't understand. Like, what the fսck is going on?"
"I had sеx with a man for the first time... when you... were in your mama's belly." Cal replied proudly,
"Dad, why the fսck are you saying these things? Like, have you lost your fսcking mind? You're talking about fսcking men in front of Mom when I was, what? Like, what the fսck is wrong with you? Who the fսck are you?" Aaron ranted.
"Here's the funny thing..." Cal began finally zipping his pants up. "If I said tonight that... I went to the strip club, and I picked up a real grade-A piece of ass and I fսckеd the sh¡t outta her in my truck you wouldn't be one-tenth as appalled as you are right now. You wouldn't be standin' here saying, Dad, what are you talkin' about?" The older man laughed shaking his head. "You'd be like, Dad, don't say that in front of Mom."
"Cal stop!" Marsha threatened with tears in her eyes. Adaline felt terrible for her.
"No! Fսck you! Fսck you!" He continued pointing at both Nate and Aaron. "You're a bunch of fսck¡n' hypocrites. I'm a man. I'll fսck whoever I want, whenever I want, and I'll have a mighty fine time doin' it."
Nate shook his head listening to his father's drunken rant. As much as he didn't want to be dealing with this it was nice seeing his father not be put together for once.
"I eat what I kill!" Cal exclaimed.
"I'm goin' to bed." Marsha announced.
"Living a double life? Not my biggest regret." The man shook his head pointing right at Nate. "You are. But let's be honest, we all live double lives."
Marsha scoffed causing Cal to turn back towards her.
"Don't give me that look, Marsha. You got that shoebox full of love letters that camp counselor used to write you. You saved them. Flirting on Facebook..." He trailed off thinking. "I, I, I get it. It feels good to know that you were loved by somebody other than just me. I'm not standin' here lookin' at you like, How could you?"
Marsha just sighed sadly walking back into her bedroom and slamming the door shut. She was done with Cal's bullshit.
"I mean, we all have secrets." He shrugged looking at Aaron next. "Aaron? The pοrn on your fսcking computer made my jaw drop." Cal exclaimed with wide eyes. "Marsha, come back! You saw it. Your mother's the one who showed me. Don't talk to me about secrets.I got problems, you got problems."
Adaline's eyes widened as she looked at Aaron. What the fuck was wrong with this family? She asked herself.
Aaron shamefully looked down at the ground. He didn't need to see Adaline's face to tell that she was disgusted by him.
"You know, I was kind of uptight when I met your mother. She was a freak... and a fսckin' fox. Marsha... you were a fսckin' fox!" Cal screamed before setting his sights on Nate once again. "Nathaniel... Your whole fսckin' life's a secret. A mystery. Who knows about you? I have lived with you. I have raised you. I am your father. I know nothing about you. Hell I doubt Adaline even knows you!"
Nate didn't say anything. He just stood there with his jaw clenched listening to what his dad had to say.
"Oh and Adaline, don't think I forgot about you up there beautiful. Good luck having a mini Nathaniel." Cal laughed shaking his head. "God, I could just imagine what your dad would think if he was here now."
"Don't talk about my daughter!" Adaline seethed.
"Okay, how about I talk about how fucking much I loved your dad." Cal smirked. "He was one good lay. I'll tell you that. Your mom was pretty good too. She'd always come running to me when your daddy was off banging someone else." He explained. "And hell I didn't mind. She was one nice piece of ass."
"You're disgusting!" The Kingston girl practically growled turning her nose up in disgust.
"I'll admit that, I have a problem. But the reason I have a problem is this family. That's why. I'm not allowed to form an emotional connection. And I'm an emotional guy. You fuckers backed me into a corner." Cal admitted going on another rant. "But you know what? I think you've set me free. So... this is farewell. I left you with a little... memory of me here on the floor of the foyer. You... two dickwads can draw straws to see who cleans it up. Don't make the pregnant girl do it. Or do. I don't give a fuck!" He laughed opening the front door. "I'll see you assholes later!"
