ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  It was Friday night and Adaline decided to go out for once. Kat and Maddy invited the girl to go bowling with them and she happily agreed.

"Yo, this is Nate. I'm busy. Leave a message."

"Please call me when you get this! I just want to make sure you're okay." Adaline sighed hanging up. She called Nate three times and he still hadn't answered. Adaline thought it was odd because Nate always answers her right away.

"Addie you need to chill. Maybe his phones dead." Kat said from the driver's seat.

"Yeah girl you're being paranoid." Maddy nodded from the passenger seat.

"I just don't understand why he's not answering. He said he was going to get food and then he was just going to hang out at home for the rest of the night." She ranted. "What if something happened? What if he like passed out while driving and crashed. I should have just stayed home tonight."

"Addie!" Maddy exclaimed stopping the girl. "You for real need to chill. Nate's fine. He told you to go out and have fun. So relax and stop thinking about him."

"Okay." The brunette sighed. "Can you just call him once and see if he answers?"

Maddy looked back at Adaline with a raised eyebrow. She could clearly see the worry all over her friends face. So she sighed and pulled out her phone.

Adaline waited nervously as she watched Maddy dial Nate's number. After a few moments of silence the same recorded message played. "Voicemail." Maddy shrugged shutting off her phone.

"I'm sure he's fine." Kat smiled reassuringly at Adaline. The brunette missed the look that her two friends in the front seat shared. She was distracted texting Nate again.

Both Kat and Maddy knew it was weird that Nate was ignoring Adaline. They knew he usually had to know everything that she was doing. Nate always answered his phone if it concerned her. They didn't want to worry Adaline anymore than she already was so they kept quiet.

"You're both going down!" Maddy shouted pointing at both girls as she exited Kat's car.

The Kingston girl sighed trying to calm herself down. She knew she was probably being a little over dramatic but she was worried about Nate. Adaline didn't understand why he wasn't answering her.

But Maddy and Kat were right. She was just being paranoid. It wasn't like Nate was out cheating on her or something. Adaline trusted him. The Jacobs boy probably just fell asleep and that's why he wasn't answering.

Nate definitely was not sitting at the corner of the Howard's street. And he definitely was not waiting for a certain blonde girl to get in his truck.

This was the moment Cassie had been waiting for all week. She was ecstatic that Nate was taking her out. The blonde had gotten all dressed up for him. She was shaking with excitement at what could possibly happen between the two.

If only Cassie knew that Nate was not planning on taking her out to some nice fancy restaurant like she had imagined. He wasn't going to confess his undying love for her. Nate Jacobs had other plans.

It was safe to say that Nate was shocked by Cassie's actions. The first thing the blonde did upon entering his truck was kiss his cheek. He didn't understand why she would think that was okay but he didn't say anything. He let it go and began driving.

"Where are we goin'?" Cassie asked excitedly.

Nate didn't reply. He was too busy thinking about how he was going to tell Cassie that he didn't like her like that.

"What are you thinking about?" The Howard girl again questioned. This time she reached over and ran her hand through Nate's hair.

"We're almost there." The Jacobs boy grumbled moving his head away from her hand.

He could tell Cassie was about to say something but Nate's phone lighting up stopped her. It was Adaline's name with a heart that made the blonde girl become silent. If she wasn't already feeling guilty after seeing Adaline call Nate it certainly didn't help that a few moments later Maddy was calling him.

Cassie knew the two girls were together. They had invited her to go bowling with them but she turned them down. She wasn't going to pass up being alone with Nate. She also didn't know if she could be in a room alone with the two. Surely her guilt would eat her alive.

It was only a few more minutes of silence until the duo arrived at their destination. It was a construction sight. Cassie assumed it was probably one of Cal's.

"I've never been over here before." She mumbled looking around.

Nate sighed turning towards the girl. He knew this was it. It was time to break the news to her."Look, Cassie, I really like youย  but I don't think it's the same way that you like me." He began attempting to break it to her nicely. "I wish that things could be different. But what happened between us was a mistake, and we never should have did what we did."

"Yeah, but..." Cassie stuttered on the verge of tears.

"It was my fault. I shouldn't have, put myself in that situation."

"It was my fault, too!"

"I just... I wasn't in the right mind. I didn't think that I'd get so, um... It doesn't matter. It is what it is. We can't see each other. And we can never, ever speak about this." Nate concluded. He could tell Cassie was trying to process what he was saying. "I'm sorry."

Cassie didn't think. In a second she was out of Nate's truck and running through the half built building. She didn't know where she was going. All Cassie knew was that she needed to get away before she broke down.

"Fuck!" He cursed getting out of his truck. Nate tried to follow after her the best he could.

Her heart was thudding as she leaned against the wall. Cassie was desperately trying to catch her breath. She couldn't believe Nate was doing this to her. In the distance she could hear him calling for her.

"Cassie! Cassie!" Nate yelled running through the construction sight. He couldn't find her. No matter how hard the Jacobs boy searched he simply couldn't find Cassie. It was almost like he was intentionally not finding her.

"I'm not playing games Cassie!" Nate called out. "If you don't come out I'm leaving without you."

It was silent for a moment before Nate heard the sound of shuffling. "Nate." The girl mumbled in a small voice. The Jacobs boy cursed to himself when he noticed the tears running down her face.

"Cass..." He trailed off. "I'm so fucking sorry. You're a nice girl. It's just things are complicated."

At this point Nate was just trying to get her to stop crying. All he wanted was to be done with the whole thing. Nate should be home right now in bed waiting for Adaline to get home. But instead he's here chasing a crying Cassie around a construction sight.

"But what if they weren't?" Cassie asked hopefully. "They don't have to be complicated."

"Will you just let me take you home?" The boy sighed.

When Nate finally arrived home he couldn't have been happier. It just sucked that his father had to ruin it. Nate didn't know what it was but something was telling him to look in Adaline's room before he went to his own. And Nate regretted it the second he opened the door.

"You want to tell me why some punk drug dealer beat you up?" Cal questioned his son from his spot on Adaline's bed. Cal knew his son would come in here to check if she was home or not. It was his best chance at getting Nate alone.

"What the fuck are you doing in here?" Nate was pissed. He didn't like the idea of his father in Adaline's room at all.

"Answer my question!"

"You sure you want to have this conversation?" The teenager scoffed.

"Yeah, Nate. I do."

"Okay. I don't think you want Mom to hear." Nate smirked closing the bedroom door and leaning up against the wall. He wanted to be as far away from Cal as he could.

"You remember that classmate of mine that you fีฝckะตd? Jules?" Cal gulped nervously trying to avoid eye contact. "All right, so she told her best friend... who told her drug dealer. And now they keep threatening to go down to the police station, and say that you like to fีฝck little kids. So maybe I was stickin' up for you."

"I want to apologize..." Cal began.

"I don't need your apologies."

"I need you to understand... I didn't know she went to your school. I didn't know how old she was."

"Mm-hm. Well, what she didn't know is that you were filming her." Nate replied. "What about all of the other people you and Nick fucked. Did they know what you two were doing?"

Cal's heart stopped at the mention of his late friend. He had a million questions going through his mind. "Does she know?"

Nate only smiled in response. He'd never seen his father sweat so much. Usually Nate was the one being made uncomfortable. But today it was Cal. He was enjoying fucking with his dad.

"Does Addie know?"

"Does she know what?" He asked playing dumb. "Does she know how much of a sick fuck you and her dad are? Yeah. I think she does." Nate nodded.

"Do you have them?" Cal questioned desperately. No one could know about his or Nick's videos. "Nate? Do you have them?"

But he got no response.
