Unraveled

Life lately had been a whirlwind for Minato Namikaze. Becoming the Yondaime Hokage of Konohagakure was the culmination of a lifelong dream—one he’d held since Jiraiya had taken him under his wing as an apprentice. But dreams had a way of bringing new challenges, and the weight of leadership was heavier than he’d anticipated.

He had a loving wife, Kushina, who had been his anchor through it all. Meeting her had been like fate; her fiery spirit had captivated him from the start. Now, they were not only married but also expecting their first child—a joy beyond words. Yet, happiness didn’t come without its trials.

Nearly a year ago, a mysterious scroll had arrived, shaking the foundations of Minato’s reality. The scroll detailed a series of catastrophic events destined to befall his genin squad. At first, he had dismissed it as an elaborate prank. But when Kushina revealed she’d received an identical scroll, the coincidence was too significant to ignore.

Uneasy, they’d taken the scroll to Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Sandaime Hokage. Minato vividly recalled Hiruzen’s expression—shock tempered with caution. The older man had advised them to keep this information strictly confidential. “Not even your closest friends can know,” he had warned. “If this is real, we must tread carefully. If it’s a ruse, revealing it could cause more harm than good.”

Hiruzen’s advice was clear: focus on the potential danger, not the source of the scroll. From that moment, Minato and Kushina had begun laying plans to mitigate the disasters described within.

The scroll’s predictions began to unfold with alarming accuracy. Minato had prepared for this. He and Kushina created specialized seals for Kakashi, Obito, and Rin, allowing them to summon Minato instantly via the Flying Raijin Technique if they found themselves in grave danger. But to his dismay, when the time came, neither Kakashi nor Obito had used the seals.

It wasn’t until Kakashi lost his eye and Obito became trapped under rubble that they finally activated the seals. Minato had arrived in a flash, immediately transporting the entire team to the hospital, where Tsunade had been waiting on standby.

Obito’s injuries were severe—his right leg crushed . Months of grueling therapy lay ahead, but he was alive, which was more than Minato had dared hope. Rin was shaken but unharmed, and Kakashi, now with Obito’s Sharingan transplanted into his eye, carried the weight of his comrade’s sacrifice.

The ordeal brought the team closer. Kakashi, once coldly dedicated to rules, began to truly care for his teammates. He and Obito still bickered, but their bond had transformed into something akin to brotherhood.

When Minato thought the worst was behind them, another scroll arrived. This one was far more chilling. Rin’s life was in imminent danger—again. It warned that she was at risk of being made into a jinchūriki.

Minato and Kushina worked tirelessly to prepare. They developed a seal specifically for Rin, one that would activate automatically if she became a jinchūriki, granting her control over the tailed beast. Despite their efforts, they hoped it wouldn’t come to that.

Thankfully, it didn’t. An ANBU team, led by his most trusted operatives, intercepted the shinobi attempting to kidnap Rin. The would-be abductors were captured, interrogated, and executed for their crimes.

Rin was safe, but her life remained under constant threat. Minato placed her under ANBU surveillance, knowing she would always be a target. The burden weighed heavily on his mind.

Minato often joked with Kushina that all this stress would give him gray hair before he reached thirty. But the truth was, these scrolls haunted him. Someone out there knew the future, and their motives were unclear.

If another scroll arrived, Minato vowed to treat it as truth without hesitation. The stakes were too high to dismiss it, no matter how strange it seemed. As Hokage, he had the power to shape the village’s future, but now he felt as though he was navigating a battlefield shrouded in fog.

For now, all he could do was plan, protect, and hope.

As Minato made his way home that evening, the thought of returning to Kushina and the team filled him with joy. His life, though chaotic, felt complete. He was Hokage, a lifelong dream realized, and soon he would become a father. The image of holding his child in his arms was one he replayed in his mind, bringing a rare softness to his usually sharp demeanor.

When he stepped inside, Kushina greeted him with her radiant smile. Sen and the rest of the team were there too, waiting for him at the dinner table. He kissed Kushina and exchanged cheerful greetings with the others before taking his seat. The conversation began lightly, mostly revolving around Obito’s training and the team’s future missions.

However, the atmosphere shifted abruptly when Kakashi made a sharp accusation. He claimed that Sen had bullied Raido’s younger sister, Nami, back in the Academy. The room fell silent.

Sen’s denial was immediate, but her tone was raw, a mix of pain and fury that had clearly been bottled up for years. She lashed out at Kakashi, her voice rising with years of pent-up frustration. Minato had rarely seen such emotion from her. Kushina looked equally stunned, glancing between Sen and Kakashi, unsure how to intervene.

Minato’s mind raced as he pieced things together. Now that he thought about it, Sen had always been an outsider. She’d been in the same class as Kakashi and Obito but never in their circle of friends. He couldn’t recall seeing her with any of the other kids either.

When Sen stormed out after venting her hurt, Minato and Kushina wasted no time addressing the situation. He gave Kakashi, Obito, and Rin an earful. As shinobi, their job was to seek truth, not blindly believe rumors. “You’re ninja,” he’d said firmly, his tone unyielding. “You investigate, you verify. You don’t isolate someone based on hearsay.”

Minato demanded they apologize to Sen and rectify their mistake. He also tasked Kakashi and Obito with uncovering the truth behind the rumors that had led to this. “Find the source and report back to me,” he ordered. Though reluctant, the two accepted the assignment, guilt heavy in their expressions.

A week passed before they returned, knocking hesitantly at his office door. Minato ushered them in, noting how grim Kakashi looked. Obito, too, seemed subdued, his usual energy dimmed.

“What did you find?” Minato asked, his voice calm but firm.

Kakashi spoke, his tone low. “It was Hotaru and Yuki,” he admitted. “They spread the rumors about Sen after she refused to join their group. They wanted her to take their side against clan-born shinobi. When she didn’t, they retaliated.

The silence in the room was deafening. Minato’s expression hardened, though his voice remained steady. “And you?” he asked Kakashi pointedly. “You didn’t start this, but you didn’t stop it either. You distanced yourself from her, believed the lies, and abandoned your comrade. Do you have any idea what that must have done to her?”

Kakashi looked down, unable to meet his sensei’s gaze.

Minato continued, his tone colder. “How would you feel if the roles were reversed? If you were isolated, lied about, and had no way to defend yourself? Think about the Kanabi Bridge. Think about what you and Obito went through. That same helplessness you felt—Sen has lived with it for years. And you let it happen.”

Kakashi and Obito stiffened, the weight of his words sinking in. They both knew exactly what it felt like to lose control over their circumstances, to be hurt by forces beyond their power. Now, they understood how deeply they’d failed Sen.

Minato’s voice softened but retained its authority. “You need to make this right. Inform Genma, Raido, and the others. Let them know the truth. I will not tolerate bullying or ostracism among my shinobi. Is that clear?”

“Yes, Sensei,” they both murmured, shame evident in their expressions.

Minato sighed once they left, leaning back in his chair. Sen was a remarkable kunoichi—intelligent, resourceful, and calm under pressure. Her maturity often exceeded her years, but even so, no one should have to endure what she had. He admired her resilience but knew that even the strongest hearts could break under such strain.

Kushina had taken an even more protective stance toward Sen after learning the truth. She adored her apprentice and had been livid when she discovered how her peers had treated her. “Resolve this,” she had told Minato firmly. “Let the others know what they’ve done. Sen deserves better.”

That wasn’t the only issue weighing on Minato’s mind. Recently, Kakashi, Obito, Genma, and Raido had applied to join the ANBU Black Ops. It was a demanding, dangerous branch of the ninja force, and Minato couldn’t help but marvel at how far they’d come. Just a few years ago, they were Academy students. Now, they were ready to take on the village’s most perilous missions.

He sighed again, this time with a mix of pride and worry. The next generation was growing up fast, and while he trusted their capabilities, he couldn’t shake the feeling that they were walking into shadows far darker than they realized.

Sen's POV

I was coming back from my daily lessons with shishu when I sensed familiar chakra coming my way . It wasn’t like the road was crowded . There were barely any people so when I sensed Kakashi coming my way I Knew he is here for me. I was in dilemma. Listen to what he has to say or just shunshin my way to the shop . I decided to hear him out . I stopped On my tracks when he stopped in front of him .

I didn't say anything . I wanted him to start the conversation.

He started reluctantly,"Sen…… I.. I am so sorry for how I treated you all these years.   I should have investigate then and there what really had transpired . I blindly trusted my friends . I am sorry "

I told him ,"it's good to know that truth has came out but I am not ready to talk more on that issue . I am not holding grudges against any of you but that doesn't mean you have got my forgiveness . "

I was about to go when kakashi stopped me saying,"I have told genma and others too , they wanted to apologize but I told them not to approach you yet".

I looked at him didn't know what to say . I Said OK and shunshined faster than I ever did before . I was still shining when suddenly I collided with someone.  In a hurry to get away from kakashi I didn't slow down . I was sprawled on the ground . I hurriedly stood up and looked , in front of me was an Anbu op . I couldn't believe my eyes . Anbus were not supposed to be seen I didn’t know what he was doing here .

I said,” sorry, Okami Taichu  ,  I didn’t see you there”

The Anbu stood there and didn’t say for couple of seconds . He is a usual who is on kushina's  protection squad. I remembered kushina calling him Okami on many occasions.

He said ,” You are Sen saito aren't you ? You are faster at shunshin than average shinobis”

I don't know who He really is but that is officially my first ever crush in this world. I was visibly blushing may be . He was tall and had black hair which would cover half of konohas shinobis.

Never in my life i lost my control over my emotions that quick.  He then bid me best of luck and left in a Shunshin.

I was standing there cursing myself . From that moment on I might have developed feeling towards Anbus which denoted power and ruthlessness. Well damn …. I have a type now.
