Meeting Cody
07:12, 31 January 2016I pulled away, the tingly sensation in my lips still buzzing. I blushed and turned from Dom's view. "Wow.." Was all that came from my mouth. Dom chuckled and helped me up. "We should get going, it's getting pretty late." I didn't notice how late we had been out until he said so. I nodded and grabbed our supplies. Dom walked me back to the hotel and waved goodnight before trotting back to his house.
When I got inside, I plopped down on my bed, still in shock over the kiss. I wasn't looking for anything right at the moment, yet I kissed him. I washed away the thoughts with a shower and crawled into bed. I opened my laptop and grabbed my earbuds off the nightstand. I plugged them in and started to watch some music videos.
Halfway through But It's Better If You Do, I saw a little piece of blue paper slip under my door. I curiously got up to pick it up. Be at the park @2:30PM
The eyebrow-raising note was tossed onto the dresser as I decided to call it a night. I tosses and turned over what the event could be. I didn't even know what to wear, if it was formal or causal. I sighed and sat on the edge of the bed. 3:28AM. I need a drink.. I slid off the comfy bed and sulked into the bathroom. I threw my hair into a ponytail and splashed cold water on my face. I pulled my sweatshirt over my head and stepped into my slippers. I opened my door and made my way (downtown where faces past and I'm homebound) to the hotel's lounge.
My weird craving for a smoothie was gratified as I sat down on a stool with the cold glass in my hand. I sipped the drink and sighed. I didn't know why I was so awake.. It was like something wanted me to being drinking a strawberry smoothie at 3:46AM in shorts, a sweatshirt, and slippers. "Isn't it a bit early for a smoothie?" I nearly choked on my smoothie. A young male was leaning against the entrance, wearing a playful smile across his face. He had deep blue eyes and blond hair that framed his face perfectly."Jeez! Don't sneak up on people like that!" I said. He chuckled and sauntered over to the stool next to me. He plopped down and smiled."Heh, sorry. So you made a smoothie at almost 4 in the morning, and didn't make me one?" He teased. I rolled my eyes and giggled. "I don't even know you." I said with a laugh.
He grabbed my smoothie and took a sip from my straw before smiling. "My name is Cody Elliot. I'm 21 and currently in a performing arts school." I snatched my drink back and grinned. "Um.. I'm y/n, I'm 19. I'm not in school currently." I replied, downing some more of the thick beverage."Well y/n, I think we could get along pretty well." He said."I think so too." "Hey I like your bracelet." He pointed out my small, silver charm bracelet. There were 6 charms; a heart, a treble clef, a star, a moon, a flower, and lastly, a pawprint."Oh thanks. My father gave it to me before he left.." Cody shifted awkwardly, but I told him not to worry. "It gets heavy after a while though." I laughed, removing it and setting it on the counter.
We spent the next hour or so talking over smoothies. "Hey did you get a note about the park?" Cody asked. I nodded and thus a new topic was sparked. "I'm not even sure what to wear like is it a wedding or a tea party or what?" Cody laughed and finished his smoothie off. "Ah, good point. I'm just wearing jeans and a tee with Converse. What about you?" I shrugged."I'll probably wear a causal dress." I replied. It was a long pause afterward. My thoughts caught up to me, making me zone out.
"Are you okay?" I jumped by the sudden hand on my shoulder. Cody's eyebrows were knitted in worry. "You look upset. I nodded, blushing quite profusely. "Yeah it's just issues with friends." I said, almost in a whisper."Do you want to maybe.. Talk about it?" He asked."There's not much to talk about. I lost my boyfriend because his 'buddy' kissed me, so I broke up with him because he accused me of cheating. Then, this guy that I sorta know, kissed me and I don't know how to react. I'm not interested, but it caught me off guard." I heard my voice crack. The impulse came over me suddenly. I broke down and wrapped my arms around Cody, soaking his grey t-shirt with tears.
"Shh.. You're okay. I'm here." He hushed. My sobs quieted down into soft whimpers. Cody had lifted me up onto his lap, allowing me better access to his neck, where my arms stayed wrapped around. I spent a while, being consoled and calming down. I lifted my head up and looked at Cody, who smiled down at me. "I-I'm sorry.." I apologized, wiping my eyes. He waved it off, allowing me to scramble off his lap. "Well, we've been here for a while, maybe we should get some more sleep." He said. I agreed add and thanked him for letting me vent. "My room is 302." He winked before saying goodbye. I inhaled deeply, feeling much better after talking to someone. I headed back to my room. I laid back down in the soft cotton sheets, and drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, I woke up at 11, after crashing around 4AM. I smiled at the thought of making a new friend. I walked to the bathroom and decided to shower for today's events. Before stepping in, I noticed how I smelled like Cody, which was very relaxing. He smelled like pine trees and spearmint. I sighed contently and finally crawled into the shower.
After my shower, I curled my hair and finished my makeup, leaving me an hour and a half to arrive. I heard my doorbell ring. I couldn't tie the dress's top around my neck, so I held it up with my hands and walked over to the door. I opened it up to see Cody standing in the doorway. I blushed and smiled. "Oh hey.." He said, running a hand through his shaggy hair. "Hi.." I said. "Sorry, I was finishing up. What's up?" I asked, hoping to avoid any awkwardness, which was failing."Erm, I came over to see if you'd like to go with me?" I nodded. "I'd love to." "Great. Uh, need some help?" He said, pointing out my dress."Yeah, can you tie this around my neck?" I pleaded, because quote frankly, my hands were cramping from how tightly I was gripping it. He agreed, tying a little bow on the back of my neck. I thanked him and blushed. I glanced at the floor, praying that he didn't notice my red cheeks. "Well, I'm going to finish up. Come over when you're ready." He said, heading back.
I knocked on his door around 1:15. I fixed my heels and fluffed my dress a bit. The door swung open to reveal Cody, shirtless. I gulped and blushed. "Oh sorry, bad time?" I spluttered. He chuckled and shook his head. "Nah, just the shirt and I'm ready to go." Sure enough, he wore exactly what he said he would wear. He slid it over his shoulders and pulled it down to cover his stomach. I smiled as he pulled his door close. He held his hand out and I took it. As the door closed, as rush of his cologne hit me, making me giddy inside. Every time I smelled his cologne, it made me want to hug him, but I had to resist the urges. He smiled down at me and we headed down the hall.
"So, I still have no idea what will be happen-""Oh no.." I gasped, stopping the conversation going on."What?!" Cody turned to face me. "M-My bracelet!" I said. "I thought I had put it on?" I started to worry. That was the last connection I had to my dad. "Let me run back and grab it." I said, walking toward my room. "I'll come too." Cody interjected.
I opened my door and began searching the places I had left it. Not on the dresser. Not on the nightstand. Not in the drawers of the nightstand either. I had collapsed on the bed and covered my face with my hands. "It's not in bathroom." Cody had sounded apologetic. Suddenly, I felt the bed sink down next to me. He wrapped me in a hug. "Let's go to the lounge. It could be somewhere (over the rainbow) in there." He said. I nodded and he pulled me up. "But, then we'll be late." I worried."Pfft, it's probably one of those companies that set up promotions there. Always trying to get people to come for the publicity." He complained. I nodded and he took my hands in his. "We'll find it, y/n." He assured.
We searched the lounge. Nothing. I wanted to cry. My only link to my father, gone. I sat down on a barstool and sighed. Cody had been searching everywhere for it, staying positive. "I'm sorry Cody, I've been dragging you everywhere to find my bracelet. You can go, I'll find it.""That won't be necessary." He quipped. I spun around and looked at him. He held up a small silver chain. "It must have fallen off the counter." "Oh Cody thank you!" I said, scooting off the stool. I hugged him and let him slide it on my wrist."Not a problem. I'm glad I could help." I released him and blushed slightly. Was he staring at me? "Well, it's 3:47. The park thing is probably almost over." I said. Cody nodded."Well, you could come back to America with me and we can hang out at my house?" "That sounds great. Wait your house?" I blurted."Yeah I've been in a hotel because of an audition. I live in America.""Oh." Was all I managed to say.
"Well, I have an extra bedroom. You can live with me." He suggested. I thought about it. "What time are you leaving?" I asked."Tomorrow at 5PM. My jet with get us around 6:30, and we should arrive at my house around 7AM." "Woah, that's a long flight." I giggled. He chuckled."Yeah, but it's a private flight, so just you and me." He winked. I blushed and smiled."Well, all I have is the bag of stuff with me now so I don't have much stuff." I said, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. "Well, that will change when we get back to California. I will buy you so many outfits, because you deserve the best of the best." "Awe, thank you, but you don't have to." I replied."I insist." He urged.
~Time Skip To Flight~
It was around 12PM. Cody had fallen asleep listening to his music. I stared out the window, amazed at the sights. So glad I wore comfy clothes. I said, thankful that I wore leggings, a hoodie, and sneakers. Soft snores floated out of Cody's mouth. I smiled and glanced over at him. His hair fell in around his face, his lips were parted slightly, and his eyes were shut peacefully. Without thinking, I brushed a piece of his hair from his eyes. I pulled my hand away, rather sharply. I didn't want to wake him up, but I did. His eyes fluttered open. His gaze landed on me, and he smiled. His hand found the back of my head. "You're adorable." He said, before pressing his lips to mine.
