(Rhysand POV )
When I finally managed to track my mate down, she was in a small art shop in the Rainbow. She was definitely aware of my close presence, but I still decided it would be fun to sneak up on her. Feyre didn't even falter, completely ignoring my existence as she suddenly became engrossed in examining a certain sculpture on a shelf. We were still furnishing and decorating the River Estate, adding some final touches to make it complete and feel more homey.
I sauntered over to Feyre with my hands in my pockets as I came to a stop beside her, allowing a wide grin to overtake my face. "Hello Feyre darling. Fancy seeing you here," I smirked.
She continued to ignore me and turned away, heading down the aisle and into the next one.
"What? No 'hello' ?" I claimed in disbelief, following after her at a close distance. "I thought we were meant to be on a date," I muttered.
She finally broke, whirling around to face me, her face etched with fury. "We were," she seethed, "That is, until you started being a stubborn asshole."
I took a small step back upon seeing her raging, stormy blue eyes, raising both of my hands in the air in surrender. "It was just a little money, love. Let's forget about it?" I offered cautiously. I would be lying if I said that I wasn't enjoying this. A lot.
Feyre turned, beginning to walk away again. "Date's over, Rhysand. You can go back home if you want. Besides, you didn't even want to come in the first place, remember?"
To be fair, you did drag me out of bed early to shop for Cassian, I purred into her mind.
I felt a wave of disgust through the bond before her mental shields came slamming up, throwing me out of her mind.
I followed after her as she quickened her pace, my smirk ever growing.
All the walking eventually payed off when Feyre finally came to a halt, turning swiftly on her heels. "Stop following me around like a lost puppy, Rhysand," she snapped at me.
I put on an innocent face, forgoing the urge to smirk at my mate as I rocked back and forth on my heels. "I'm not," I said with raised brows. "Just searching for some nice art to put up around the house." I pointed to a large canvas to my left, a beautiful oil painting depicting the sparkling skies of Starfall. "Want it?" I asked.
My idea worked as I knew it would, the expressive art drawing Feyre's attention. She stepped closer to it, pushing past me in the process, inspecting the painting. Her eyes widened in awe as they roved over the various different colours of the glowing starry skies and I took my chance to gaze at the most stunning piece in the entire shop. She was so alluring and I couldn't stop the small smile that broke out over my face as I watched her. She made me more happy than I ever believed I could be, even when she was mad at me. Especially when she was mad at me.
How did I get so lucky?

(Feyre POV )
The painting was really beautiful. The artist had captured the spirits as they were and my fingertips itched to replicate something of a similar sort.
I was brought out of my dreamy daze when I suddenly felt eyes on me. He had somehow gotten closer to me and the welcoming heat radiating from his body invaded my senses. I forced myself to meet his gaze, my stomach immediately flipping. Ignore his soft smile, ignore the way it made his magnificent violet eyes slightly crinkle at the corners.. ignore the way he looked at me with so much love in his eyes.
"What are you looking at," I demanded through pursed lips, or attempted to at least, my voice slightly wavering.
His eyes widened marginally, his gaze becoming more intense. "A masterpiece," he breathed through his open lips.
I couldn't stop the faint blush that spread across my cheeks as I looked away. "Suck up," I muttered, but we both knew it was a weak attempt.
Rhys took another step closer. His fingers barely grazed my chin as he gently turned my face up to look at him. "Mm," he hummed. "Am I forgiven?"
I fought myself to tear my eyes away from him, but it was a hopeless effort. "Only because you're a manipulative prick," I replied.
My mate let out a low laugh at that, his sparkling eyes never leaving mine. "That's a new one. Haven't heard that one before."
My face heated and I strained to pull away from his touch. "You're an idiot. And yes, I do 'want it'," I said, gesturing to the painting.
Rhys smiled sweetly at me with a bow. "Whatever you want, milady."
An idea sparked in my head and I grinned, patting his shoulder. "Money's on you since you clearly love to do the honours."
I didn't get the reaction that I was looking for; neither did I understand his answering smile or the look he gave me as we paid at the counter and set off to find a gift for Cassian.

(Rhys POV )
I blew out a long breath as I finally laid in bed that night after a long day, my mate in my arms. It had taken us longer than we imagined to find Cassian's gift and after patronising almost every shop in Velaris, we were here.
Feyre turned around in my arms to face me with a soft sigh, resting her chin on my chest as she brought her hand to my face, gently trailing a finger from my brow down to my jaw. We lay in a comfortable silence, just watching each other, neither of us needing to say a word.
After several minutes I reached with my arm that wasn't holding her to move her hair out of her face. I cleared my throat. "For the record, I had your name signed at the restaurant.." I declared.
"What?" she mumbled sleepily.
"You paid for our breakfast, not me..."
She patted my bare chest, smiling dazedly at me as she loosely wrapped her arms around my waist. "Okay."
I furrowed my brows. "You're not mad?"
"Nope," she whispered, snuggling into me. "I'm just glad my mate is a clever male."
And then she fell asleep, leaving me as confused as ever.
