Feysand Baby Pt 1

19:07, 14 June 2018

So I was requested to do this by @TheBatQueen

It would have been easier to write just one oneshot where Feyre is in the hospital but I wanted to go through their experience. And see the 'overprotective male mate' side of Rhys like never before 😂😂.

I guess that's it.

Enjoy!:

(Feyre P.O.V.):

There was this terror inside me. One like I'd never felt before.

I'd been vomiting a lot for a couple of days now and my cycle was almost two weeks late.

I'd gone to see Madja and she'd confirmed it.

I hadn't told Rhys yet - just that it was probably a fever or something and I'd begged Madja to say the same.

He'd been pretty concerned all the same.

It'd only been a day and I kept looking at my stomach as if it were something foreign. Something alien.

If I was being truthful, then I'd have to admit that I was scared. Not scared enough that I'd get an abortion, though - No baby deserved that.

Yes, I was pregnant.

Rhys broke me out of my thoughts, emerging from the bathroom.

He had just had a shower by the looks of it. His hair was messy and damp, and a towel hung dangerously loose around his waist.

Rhys looked up, caught me looking, and gave me a wicked grin.

Something sparked in me but I pushed my internal desires away. I had to tell him.

Rhys registered the look on my face and at once frowned. "What's wrong?"

"I, uh..." I swallowed nervously. Rhys noted the gulp of my throat and seemed to become a little nervous himself. "I need to talk to you."

Rhys raised his brow and came to sit beside me on the edge of the bed. "I'm here."

Cauldron, how would I say this?

I grabbed his hand and starting playing with his fingers. It made it easier if I just talked to his hand.

Rhys gently lifted my chin. "Whatever it is, you can tell me, Feyre."

His eyes, so beautiful, galaxies and stars swirling in the depths of the midnight blue. That face I loved so dearly... Of course I could tell him. I already knew that. It was just the act of actually saying it.

"I know that, Rhys," I said softly.

"So tell me." Rhys looked at me patiently.

"You know this fever I've had? It turns out there was actually a reason for it. I went to see Madja again. And-"

Rhys cut me off, putting the back of his hand against my forehead. "You're not ill, are you?" Anxiety and concern laced every word.

I gave him a small smile. "Well, ill in a good way. At least I hope it's good."

When confusion took over Rhys's features I took his other hand.

"I'm pregnant, Rhys," I whispered.

The air turned silent.

I'm not sure Rhys was breathing. I'm certain I wasn't.

This is what I had been dreading anticipating the most. His reaction.

Rhys's hands tightened around mine.

"You're sure?"

I nodded, biting my lip.

His eyes then flicked down to my stomach. He removed a hand from mine and gently placed it over my stomach.

"A baby," he said, as if not quite believing it. Then he laughed.

And stopped so suddenly it was actually kind of scary. He looked up at me, fear in his eyes.

He swallowed. "What if I'm not a good father."

Not quite a question.

But I knew he was thinking about his own father.

I reached out and cupped his cheek, my own heart breaking just a little. "You're not your father, Rhys." I said it seriously and forcefully because it was the truth. He was nothing like his father.

I went on, knowing he needed to hear these words.

"You are kind, funny, brave and selfless. You are caring, loving and so warm hearted. If you can't make a good father, then I don't know who can."

Rhys smiled, silver lining his eyes.

He reached forward to wrap me in a hug.

"I am so grateful for you. So grateful that you have blessed me with this gift, this amazing gift. And I will never stop being grateful, Feyre," Rhys whispered.

"We're going to get through these ninth months together, Feyre. I won't leave you, not ever."

My throat constricted at the words and I found it hard to breathe from the tears now forming in my eyes.

And then Rhys laughed. "A baby. I'm going to be a dad."

Then he pulled away from me, grabbed my arm and dragged me with him down the stairs.

"Rhys?Rhys! Stop." I groaned and just followed him.

He made his way into the living room where everyone else was and announced, eyes shining, "I'm going to be a freaking dad."

One second, everyone stayed seated, processing the news and then they were on me, hugging me, kissing me; shouting their congratulations.

Well, this was going to be one hell of a journey.

But as I met the joyful eyes of my mate, I knew we'd make it through.

Together.

There better be a Feysand baby in ACOfifthbook.

If there isn't, I'm actually gonna cry.

Oh, SJM had baby Taran!! He's sooo cute!!

Apparently Taran means thunder. Which is so cool.

Hmmm, which name is cooler? Taran or Rhysand?

Let me know what you guys think in the comments.

Love y'all! 😘😘 😘
