Catch me if you can
02:54, 11 June 2018Do spiders exist in the faerie world?
Well, they do now ;) XD
*ACOWAR spoiler alert* By the way, this is before Amren turns into Fae. But the War's already happened. I know that doesn't even make any sense because it's not actually following the plot of the book, but for 'working' purposes, it's happening. You'll understand when you READ IT.

(Feyre P.O.V.)
I wanted a bath. Badly.
Cassian had dragged me to lunch straight after training. I insisted I needed a bath. He insisted I needed to eat lunch with the whole family like a normal; social person.
And I had never been so glad to see that tub. But not the thing in it.
Before I knew it, I was screaming.
Backing into the bedroom and screaming.
I collided with a hard; warm figure as I continued to step backward.
Rhys put his hands on my shoulders and swiftly spun me around to face him.
"What happened? Who hurt you?"
"That!!" I pointed into the bathroom and then hid my face in Rhys's chest, whimpering.
He rubbed a hand down my back comfortingly before gently pushing me away to stride to the bathroom.
He looked around, then at me. "What's in here?" he asked, confused.
"Look in the tub!" I squealed.
Rhys bent over, peering cautiously into the tub and then to my horror, burst out laughing.
He choked. "You're scared of this?! A spider?!!"
"It's huge and thick and has so many weird spindly legs!" I whined in my defence.
He started laughing again. "Oh my god, Feyre Archeron. You will be the death of me someday."
"No,"I said jokingly. "That will."
Rhys shook his head in amusement. "Should I mist it?"
My eyes widened. "No! The poor thing. It's only a creature."
Rhys's face scrunched up in an adorable way. "You're bipolar. First you're screaming your head off because of this spider, and now you take absolute offence to the idea of me killing it!"
I levelled a stern look at him. "Just because I'm scared of it, Rhys, doesn't mean I think it should deserve to die."
He sighed, putting his hands up in the air in defeat and chuckling. "Ok, Ok."
He began to reach into the tub and I freaked out again.
"What are you doing?!" I screeched.
Rhys halted, raising his eyebrows at me.
I explained myself. "You can't just delve into that tub with your bare hands and touch that spider!"
Rhys frowned. "Of course I can."
He rolled his sleeves up and went for it again.
This time, his hands emerged with that crawly insect in them.
He was never touching me again.
Rhys smirked at my expression. "Aw, is the High Lady Of The Night Court frightened of a little spider?" he cooed.
He took a step toward me.
"Don't you dare come anywhere near me with that thing, Rhys," I warned.
"Why?" he crooned. "I'm sure it just wants to get to know you better." He smirked.
"Prick,"I hissed.
Rhys snickered at me before going to the window, opening it, smoothly releasing the spider onto the ledge outside, and closing it again.
I breathed a sigh of relief.
"Now go and check for any more creepy crawly insects waiting to kill me in the bathroom," I ordered.
Rhys chuckled, sliding his hands into his pockets and strolled into the bathroom. He came out whistling.
"Nope. Nothing."
"Phew."
I collapsed onto the bed with a sigh.
Rhys turned to me with a glint in his eyes.
"Now I'll catch you," he said.
I squealed, off the bed and hurtling out of the room in a split second.
Rhys ran after me, his dark laughter following me.
I slammed my shields up so he couldn't follow my tug on the bond.
I veered into the kitchen where all of the others were still seated at the dining table just watching me with amused expressions, as if they already knew what was going on.
Mor smiled at me. "Get under here." She motioned under the table.
I ran for it, breathing my thanks before I slipped under.
I heard his footsteps almost a second later.
"Did Feyre just happen to run through here?" He asked, with complete smoothness!
He wasn't even out of breath, and here I was panting like I'd just run a marathon.
How was that even fair?!
To my surprise, Amren answered.
"I'll tell you, Rhysand, if you promise me a whole month's worth of blood. For free," She said the last part sweetly.
"What do you think I'm made of, Amren? Money?!" Came Rhys's outrageous roar.
"No," Mor said sarcastically, "It's not like we have three houses, now. Personal cooks. Cleaners. Servants-"
Rhys interrupted her. "Oh Cousin, I will never stop being grateful for your constant reminders of how wealthy the amazing High Lord Of The Night Court is."
I snorted, which was thankfully masked by Cassian's loud laugh.
"So?" Amren pressed. "Would you rather accept my offer, or search for Feyre all around the house? - She could have got considerably far in this time, possibly even to one of our other homes."
"What are you implying, Amren?" Rhys roared. "That Feyre could be up at the House Of Wind right now? Dang it, you guys deliberately slowed me down to screw me up, didn't you? I should've known that as soon as I got a mate, she'd be everyone's favourite over me," Rhys grumbled.
Mor giggled. "Right on point, Rhys."
Rhys grumbled again. "Fine," he said. Presumably to Amren.
I could literally sense her evil grin.
"She went that way," she pointed with her foot underneath the table in the direction she was indicating.
The way I would've gone if I had kept running. Which meant with Rhys in that part of the house, I could go back the way we came from and hide in a bathroom or something.
Brilliant.
"Ok," Rhys said.
He walked on past the table, not seeming at all hurried.
When they were certain he'd left, Mor kicked me from underneath the table.
I poked my head out. "Am I safe to go?"
"Thank me, girl, for saving your ass," Amren said.
I crawled out and then turned to the stairs.
"Thank you, you guys," I whisper-yelled. "I actually love you so much."
They all pretended to be flattered, waving me off and telling me 'not to utter such silly things, even if they were obviously true' - Courtesy of Cassian.
I gave them all a thumbs up and then quietly ran back up the stairs.
I was just running through the darkened hallway to our bedroom, when Rhys came up behind me, pinning my hands together behind me.
"Gotcha," he whispered in my ear.
I struggled for a bit and when I realised he wasn't about to let go anytime soon, I stopped trying to get away and slumped back into his arms.
"I thought you went the other way," I whined.
"I did." He laughed. "But then I winnowed."
"I knew you were there under that table, Feyre. I could smell you. And when you snorted," his lips brushed my ear, "I could hear you."
I arched my head back, a small sound escaping my lips.
"And now that I hold you hostage, Feyre Darling," Rhys purred, "I'm going to get you back."
"What will you do?" I whispered in anticipation.
Rhys laughed and then said, "Tickle you."
"What?!" I exclaimed. "That's not fair, Rhys! You know I can't stand to be tickled."
Rhys laughed again. "Which is exactly why I'm going to do it."
No. I couldn't let him. Once he started, he wouldn't stop. Because apparently he 'found it funny' watching me roll around laughing hysterically.
I searched for any way out in desperation, but found none.
And then my fingertips brushed against something. His pants.
Yes! Never had I felt so happy in all my life.
I was going to torture him.
I let my fingertips drift across the soft material, pressing down on places I knew turned him on.
Rhys groaned. "You bad girl, Feyre. Let me go."
"No. You let me go," I quipped.
When I pressed down again, Rhys pulled my arms high above my head.
"That's it," he said, laughter dancing in his eyes. "You're getting it now."
I squealed as his hands reached my armpits and started tickling.
Laughter escaped me and as his hands moved down to my ribs, I was totally done.
My half-hearted attempts at pushing him off were lame efforts.
Rhys was laughing, too, tears in his eyes.
I fell to the ground, pulling Rhys down with me, and he stopped tickling me because he couldn't even manage that anymore.
We lay in a heap, just laughing.
If some stranger saw us then, they'd probably think we were very drunk.
But we didn't care.
