Period Pains

22:26, 2 May 2018

Hey people! I just had this sudden blast of new ideas for some Feysand one shots. About time, too because I seriously went on this drought as you guys already know. But mostly I just got them off Tumblr.

OH MY GOD! Like I got Tumblr a few days ago and now I'm totally obsessed with it and I don't even know what I was doing with my life before that. It is AMAZING.

Yeah, so the title sounds a bit dodgy 😂😂 but I blame Tumblr. I'm so late, right? I always thought Tumblr was some rubbish boring thing and now I hate myself for that.

GET TUMBLR GUYS IF YOU DON'T ALREADY HAVE IT!!!

Ok... on to the REAL THING...

(Feyre P.O.V.):

Gods. These damn periods - I hate them. They were bad enough as a human but as Fae? As a Fae they hurt like one hundred times more.

I guess it figures though. I get stronger and faster and magic, my periods become heavier and ache more. What did I ever do to deserve this? I didn't ask for it.

And they came a WEEK early this time. Rhys roughly knows the date I usually come on and he'll take that week off. What did I ever do to deserve such a sweet guy like him?

But Rhys was off at The Court Of Nightmares. I doubt he needed me ruining his time keeping Keir in check.

So I slammed my shields up and hauled myself to bed.

(Rhys P.O.V.):

I hate these visits. Where I have to pretend to be Amarantha's whore, where I pretend I enjoy terrorizing innocent people. Keir and his people never did anything to me.

I kept them out of Velaris and so they decided to hate me.

They had a good enough reason, though.

I was thrown from my thoughts when I felt a sharp spear of pain down the bond. Feyre had put her shields up which I found unusual. But that - I felt that. She was hurting.

And the fact she hadn't told me anything made me worry even more. I knew that attitude - She thought she was doing me a favour, trying not to bother me but she wouldn't have been even if she had told me.

This meeting - It could wait.

I stood up abruptly. "Alright, let's finish up here."

Keir shot me a look of pure loathing which I chose to ignore; Cassian looked kind of relieved, to be honest.

Cassian followed me to the door. "Everything OK?" he asked.

I looked to make sure Keir wasn't eavesdropping and then murmured to Cassian, "Yeah. Just, Feyre."

Concern flashed across his features. He nodded. "I'll take care of this. Go."

"Thanks," I said in appreciation, clapping him on the back before I winnowed out.

As soon as I entered the house, though, I was really worried. The scent of blood hit me as soon as I cleared the door. It was strong.

"Feyre? Feyre!" I shouted her name winnowing through the house, following the tug of the bond.

Past the kitchen, the dining area, the living room, the art room, the library; until I reached our bedroom.

I rushed in to find her curled up on the bed. She had her hand over her stomach and had her face pressed into a pillow.

Fury ripped through my veins. Whoever had hurt her... I would kill them.

I ran to her side, making sure to keep my voice calm so I didn't panic her.

I fell down on the bed next to her and stroked her hair. "Feyre? Tell me what happened."

"I'm fine, Rhys," she groaned.

"You are NOT fine. I can smell blood."

I thought I heard her laugh. "Well maybe I am bleeding then."

"What?!" I said, shocked.

I moved her hands and tried to lift her top to search for any cuts or wounds, but I only got so far before she smacked my hand down.

"What are you doing?" She snarled.

"Where are you bleeding, Feyre?" I was getting irritated now.

She finally tore her head from the pillow to look at me. "I'm on my damn cycle, Rhys."

Oh. Oh.

"Oh, Ok," I said, embarrassed. That explained the bad mood. And the blood. "But isn't it a week early?"

Feyre's features softened. "Yeah. I was actually with Azriel when it happened." She giggled.

"Well, now you're with me. And I'm not leaving."

Her eyes went round. "Can I have some chocolate? Please?"

I pinched her cheeks and laughed. "Aw, OK."

Back with the chocolates, I pulled my top off and changed into some comfy bottoms before joining Feyre in the covers.

I put my arm around her and she cuddled into me.

I gently rubbed her back. "Does this help?"

Her eyes were closed. "Mmm."

"You know," she said after a while, "I feel better already."

"That's my job, Feyre Darling," I purred, hugging her closer.

...

I accomplished the 'purring'. What is it with Rhys and purring? He's obsessed. And I swear Feyre describes him as a 'stalking plains cat' at some point. He is such a cat.

Thank you for reading.

I love all you guys! xoxo
