Come Back Home (Part 2)

18:31, 14 February 2018

Guys, this is part 2 of 'Come Back Home'. I'm sorry that I have such rubbish titles. But here it is:

(Feyre P.O.V.)

Mor was already waiting when I entered the House. She only said, "He's back."

I nodded. As I turned to the stairs, Mor put a hand on my shoulder. "Feyre, he's a little..... tense."

I gave her a reassuring smile. "I can deal with it."

With that, I took the stairs to the first level, where the bedrooms were. I paused with my hand on the doorknob of our room. I knew Rhys was in there.

So I pushed the door open gently, closing it behind me. Rhys was sitting on the bed running his hands over... a wound that started at the side of his neck and finished around halfway down his chest. He hissed as the wound started bleeding again. I gasped. He must have noted my presence as he started pulling on a shirt, but I got there first.

I was next to him in a matter of seconds, forcing him to show me. "Oh my God," I whispered.

Rhys looked down. "It's nothing."

"You need to see a Healer," I demanded.

Rhys shook his head and then broke off, clutching at his neck. "You can fix it," he rasped.

"Me?"

He only nodded, taking my hand in his.

"I can't, Rhys. I'm scared I'll ruin it or make it even worse. I've never done something like that before."

He looked up, meeting my eyes. "Who was the one who took seven poisoned arrows out of my wings?"

"That was different, Rhys. I had to get them out then. There was no Healer there. If I had left them in you, you would've -" I swallowed. "You would have died. But now there are other options. Better than me."

"I want you to do it." His violet eyes pierced my own as his stare became more intense. And it was the need, the edge of desperation in those eyes that made me give in.

I shook my head and pretended to grumble. "Fine."

A faint smile filled his mouth. I couldn't help but smile back. So I bent down in front of him and rolled my sleeves up. "Thesan won't be happy."

"Well he'll just have to deal with it then, won't he?" Rhys said.

I stroked my thumb down the wound and jerked back when he winced.

"Oh God, I'm sorry, Rhys. I can't do this."

He lifted my chin. "You can. You know, even if a Healer did it, it would still hurt. You're doing nothing wrong."

So I closed my eyes and willed that power from Thesan to come forth. Willed it to fill each of my bones. And when I could feel it on the tips of my fingers, I reached for Rhys and began to slowly; carefully run the magic over the wound.

(Rhys P.O.V.)

She looked magical with that power coming out of her. So magical and beautiful. But as I felt her close up my wound, I felt something else inside me. I recognized it as faebane in an instant. But Feyre was so concentrated that I didn't ..... couldn't tell her. Her lips were bunched up as she worked and when she was finished, she sat back on her heels and breathed out, wiping her brow which had begun to sweat as she worked on me.

She had patched it all up perfectly and had not gone wrong anywhere. But the problem was.... There was a whole load of faebane working itself around my body that she did not know about. But Feyre looked so happy and pleased with herself when she looked up at me that I just kept quiet. I didn't want her to think this was her fault.

Cliffhanger!! When will Rhys tell Feyre he's been poisoned? And he's so cute by not telling her because he doesn't want to hurt her feelings. There will be a part 3!!! Don't worry - Rhys doesn't die. It's okay. I will try and get the third part published asap. Thanks!! 😊
