18. Get Ready With Me!

"Everyone wake up!" Maxine chimes.

I turn over in my bed.

"Maxine, it's too early. It's still dark outside!" Jocelyn states.

"We gotta get ready for breakfast!" Maxine urges, and sits up on her bed.

"That's true, I want to look presentable." Kayla agrees, and stretches when she sits up. "Everyone come into the bathroom with me, let's get ready! Grab your face wash first!" Maxine follows her to the vanities to grab their face washes.

Jocelyn and I begrudgingly get up and walk into the huge bathroom with AG behind us.

The bathroom doesn't have a door. In its place is a big archway laced with ivy and purple flowers to match the bay window next to it.

"This bathroom is just like the one back at my castle in Nottingham!" AG expresses, and I look at her.

"You used to live in Nottingham?" I ask, surprised.

"Yes, before I moved to Enchantasia a few years ago.

"That's cool! I guess I didn't really think of that."

On the right of the room, there are six fancy bathroom stalls. And by fancy, I mean fancy. They have floor-to-ceiling stall walls, sparkly-clean spacious interiors, and smell like lilacs.

At the back of the room are six luxurious shower/changing rooms, each equipped with two shower heads, two shower curtains, a golden bench, and some pure golden clothing hooks.

In the middle is a huge decorative fountain-Gingerbread. I really, really need to stop ranting about this castle.

"Is that a jacuzzi!?" Kayla asks, and examines the fountain. "YES!! There's a button to turn off the fountain and turn on the jet spa function!"

Maxine runs over. "Oh my goodness, Annalyse and Emmerlyn didn't show us that feature!"

Maxine is right. There is a huge marble spa that has a fountain function. Cool!

"Let's wash our faces and then do skincare over at the vanities!" Kayla says.

We walk over to the marble waterfall counter.

"I like the style of this sink." Jocelyn says, and I agree. The right side of the room has one long sink with six faucets. On the end is one singular sink bowl. I'm not sure what that's for.

"Everyone done?" Kayla asks.

"I still look like I just woke up." Jocelyn admits.

"That's because we used warm water to wash our faces. I have the perfect trick to fix that!" Kayla cheers. She walks to the golden sink bowl on the end of the counter and turns on the small faucet. "Watch this!"

"Whoa, that's cool!" AG says as Kayla opens the mini freezer built into the wall that's full of ice. Why would there be ice in the bathroom?

Kayla dunks her face into the bowl of ice water while still keeping her hair dry. "Just like that! Cold water and ice makes a perfect sleepy-disappearing rinse! Everyone try it!"

To my surprise, Jocelyn dunks her face. "Wow, that actually works! Maybe this is why Harlow always looks so, uh, not tired when she gets up."

Maxine, AG, and I do the same.

"Wow K, your technique works really well." I say.

"Yeah! We should do it every morning. C'mon, let's finish skincare at the vanities." Kayla says.

"Everyone grab your Avalon argan oil and apply a small amount to your entire face." Kayla directs, and we do what we're told.

Kayla insisted that we all follow her lead for a skincare routine today. After all, Kayla is the beauty queen.

"Maxine, apply a thin layer of the ogre face cream. Everyone else, apply a thin layer of moisturizing everyday moisturizer." Kayla says. "Apply the powder-puff all-over face powder with the Princess Ella fluffy brush!"

"I love this powder because it completes the look without having to use foundation and concealer." AG says. "I'm loving this no-makeup makeup look!"

"I also love it because it's a one-color fits all kinda deal!" Maxine says, and I nod in agreement.

"Serum-infused mascara and your choice of lip gloss/balm comes last. We can save lipstick for Wednesday's ball." Kayla says.

The Royal Court supplied us each with about eight different lip products each. Anna would go crazy for these! I decide to use the pink tinted lip gloss that is scented with white snapdragon flowers.

"Don't forget perfume!! Not too much, but not scant either." Kayla directs. "And make sure the scent of your perfume doesn't clash with the scent of your lip gloss. I'm doing magnolia."

"I'm doing juniper perfume and vanilla lip gloss." Jocelyn says.

"Ooh, that sounds amazing! I'm sticking with rose for both." Maxine says.

"I'm doing lavender and lemon!" AG says.

"I'm doing cherry blossom and lime. What about you, Gilly?" Kayla asks.

"I did white snapdragon for lip gloss." I say. "What perfume would go with it?"

"I love snapdragons! I almost chose that one. I think you could double-up on white snapdragon, or lavender would be nice." Kayla says.

"Or instead of one, you could do a little of both!" Maxine says.

"Good idea! I'll do that!" I spritz a little bit of lavender and then a little of the white snapdragon.

"That smells so good!" AG says. "Let's get dressed and do our hair."

After brushing our teeth and changing into clothes, it's time to do our hair.

"Gilly, sit down! What style do you want?" Kayla asks.

"Surprise me. Nothing too serious though." I respond.

"Okie dokie! We'll save the extravagance for Wednesday." Kayla says.

Maxine is doing AG's hair and Jocelyn is brushing her own straight jet-black hair.

"Now what style would complement your outfit?" Kayla thinks out loud. "Ooh, I got it!" She begins to do my hair.

I'm wearing a romper that has short sleeves and long pant legs. It's a very light green color with a tiny floral pattern that's darker green.

"K, want me to do your hair while you're doing Gilly's?" Jocelyn asks.

"Sure! We'll save time that way." Kayla responds, and Jocelyn steps behind her.

Jocelyn is actually wearing something different from her usual stars and moons! She's wearing a simple knee-length cami dress that's, of course, black. She's slowly becoming better at wearing things other than ankle-length, long-sleeved dresses with stars and moons on them.

Kayla contacted us all via Pegasus Post to bring outfits in certain color schemes, so that we could match each day. AG is wearing a pine green dress, Maxine is wearing a light green dress with a black waist line, and Kayla has a similar romper to mine. Hers is a cami style with a bow in the back.

"I love it!" Kayla says. "Simple but elegant!"

Jocelyn left most of Kayla's hair down, but gave her two small braids in the front. AG gave Maxine a half-up-half-down, and vice versa.

"Thanks K, I love mine!" I say. I actually do, I think this style looks good with my outfit. I have my hair down with two braids on either side coming from the front. They're tied together in the back with a light green ribbon.

"I love how one of your braids is just brown and the other is purple and brown!" Jocelyn snickers, and I roll my eyes.

"It's your fault." I say back, jokingly.

"I love our matching hairstyles!" AG says to Maxine.

"Me too!" Maxine says, just as Emmerlyn knocks and opens one of the bedroom doors.

"Breakfast in five! Oh wow, you girls look lovely!" Emmerlyn observes.

"Thank you!" We all say. Emmerlyn is wearing a white dress with a navy blue Royal Manor apron.

We all put on our matching cork sandals from Cobbler Shoes.

"Ready?" Emmerlyn asks and we nod. "Great! To the balcony."
