17. The First Dinner Meeting

Emmerlyn opens a large oak door and we all enter the dining room. I've never been to the private dining room before, only the huge one used for royal gatherings.

I enter the room, and notice that this one is huge, too. Jax and Ollie are inside.

"Hey Jax and Ollie!" Kayla says.

"Hey! Come sit down." Jax says, and we all walk to a chair at the huge table. It's covered with a white silk tablecloth and set beautifully with pure golden silverware, fancy glasses, and ceramic plates with gold borders. I thought tonight's dinner was supposed to be casual!

I sit down at the table next to Kayla, and Jax sits to my right at the head of the table.

Once everyone is seated, Jax begins to speak. "Well hey everyone! I'm so glad all of you could come this week."

"Us too!" We say.

"Dinner should be ready any minute now, so just hang tight. Tonight it's grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, asparagus, and an avocado aioli."

"That's one of my favorites!" AG says.

"Good. Anyways, this 'meeting' is just kinda to explain the loose itinerary for this week along with some details. Sound good?" Jax says.

"Yes!" Maxine agrees.

"Alright. Tomorrow, breakfast will be at 7:00 AM, just like every day this week. Wear business casual attire."

"I love doing a little dressing up!" Kayla adds.

"After breakfast, I was thinking I would give you guys a tour of the main castle! And afterwards for the girls, Raz invited you to her castle to look around the hair care shop. She also would be glad to give a tour of her castle if you'd like. Ollie, you can come too for that part. How does all that sound?" Jax asks.

"It sounds great!"

"Yeah, sounds fun!"

"Great! Then on Monday, in the middle of the main castle, there are two secret gardens. One of them is the place where the Royal Manor gardeners grow all of the vegetables that they use to cook with. The other is full of flowers, plants, shrubs, and lots of ivy. So if you want, we can hangout in the gardens." Jax says.

"Secret gardens!? Just like the one at FTRS!" Ollie notes.

"Right? None of the public knows any of the features here at Royal Manor except for the ballrooms." Jax says.

Show off.

"Dinner is served." A server says, and places two platters down on the table.

"Ooh, yay! We'll have to resume after we plate our food." Maxine says.

Two more servers come. One sets down the rest of the food, and another pours ice water into our glasses, as if we're at a restaurant.

"Enjoy!" A server says, and they all exit the room.

"Thank you!" AG revels.

"Wow, is this how you have dinner every night?" I ask.

"It is. The only thing different is that I always dine in the room next to us with the princes and princesses. Rapunzel is letting us have our own private dining experience in here this week." Jax answers, and we start passing around bowls and dishing up our food.

"Oh, gotcha." I add. We start eating, and the food is delicious.

"These mashed potatoes are bomb!!" Ollie says.

"They are!" I agree, whatever bomb means. I'm guessing it's a good thing.

"All of the food is really good." AG states, and we all nod.

"The chefs here are amazing. Are you ready to talk about the other days?" Jax asks.

"Yup!" Ollie revels with a mouthful of food. Some things never change.

"Ok. Tuesday I have nothing planned, but as you know, Thursday is my birthday, and when you're a part of a royal family, it's a tradition to host a ball the night before your birthday, and it goes past midnight." Jax says.

"Yes, that's true! So are we having a ball?" AG asks.

"Yes... but it's not like I have a choice." Jax admonishes.

"I didn't bring a ballgown or high heels." Maxine says, and spoons a huge bite of mashed potatoes into her mouth.

"Neither did I." Kayla says.

"I don't think any of us did. Not that I even have any ball gowns..." I say.

"I love royal balls, but I didn't even bring a ballgown!" AG says. "And I'm a princess!"

"Good!" Jax says, and we all turn to look at him.

"Why?" Maxine asks, with a very confused look on her face.

"You'll see on Wednesday." Jax says.

"I can't wait to show them, it's like, my favorite part of Royal Manor!" Annalyse says, and Jax winks at her.

"Anyways, for Thursday, I don't have much planned except for a huge breakfast buffet." Jax says.

"Are there gonna be pattycakes?" Ollie asks with eager eyes and once again, a mouthful of food. Oh, when will he learn?

"Yes Ollie, there will be pattycakes, caramel cakes, pancakes, cinnamon rolls..." Jax responds, and laughs at the face Ollie is making. He looks like he's about to get a lifetime supply of pastries and desserts, which I guess he will be getting a lot.

"Patty...cakes..." Ollie recounts dreamily.

"That sounds amazing!" Kayla says.

"That's why we're doing it!" Jax says, and flashes a smile. "Now listen, nobody in Enchantasia knows this, but Royal Manor has a private beach, and it has the best sunset views. So if there's any night you wanna do that, let me know."

"Ooh! I'd love to!" Maxine says and Jax nods.

"For Friday and Saturday, I don't have anything planned, so we can decide later. Does everything sound good?" Jax asks.

"Sounds amazing!" I respond.

"Mhm." Jocelyn says. "Living the royal life doesn't seem half bad."

"It all sounds good, but especially the pattycakes!" Ollie says, and Jax laughs.

"Yeah! Can't wait!" Kayla says, and finishes the last of her food.

"Great! I'm glad. Since we're all done eating, we can probably head back to our rooms." Jax says. We all nod.

We all fold our napkins and set them on the table to let the servers know that we had a fabulous dinner.

"We'll see you tomorrow!" Emmerlyn says, walks out of our room, then closes the door behind her.

"I'm ready for bed, are you guys almost ready?" AG asks, and yawns.

"Yeah, I do need my beauty sleep." Jocelyn says. "I got it from Harlow."

Kayla finishes brushing her hair and flutters over to her bed. "Ready!"

"Me too." Maxine and I say at the exact same time, and laugh.

"These beds really are the comfiest beds ever! Maxine gushes. "I'm so excited for this week!"

"Me too." Kayla says. "Goodnight guys!"

"Goodnight!"
