12. Getting Ready

Mother walks over to me with a scroll and quill in her hand. "Gilly, it's 2:00 P.M. now, so you should start packing your bags and getting ready to go. While you do that, I'm going to write to Anna."

"Alright, sounds good!" I say, and head over to the bathroom to shower.

After I shower, I change into a casual blue dress and blow-dry my hair. Afterwards, I go to my room to pack.

I pack a week's worth of clothes, my hairbrush, my toothbrush, and all that stuff.

I grab the case, the gift box, and the watch attachment. I carefully put the watch attachment into the case. Then, I put the case into the Combing the Sea gift box. Lastly, I tie the gold ribbon around the box to finish it off.

There we go!

One and a half hours later, I haul my bag down the stairs as I see Father come through the door. "Hi Father, why are you here and not in the shop?" I ask.

"Oh, I'm going to head back over there soon, I just wanted to tell you goodbye and wish you good luck." He says.

"Thank you, but why good luck?" I ask, slightly confused.

"Oh, just with certain people and all-no matter. Just have fun." He says, and smiles. "See you in a week."

"Ok, bye!" I say as I watch him walk out the door.

"Well, that means it's my turn! Goodbye Gillian, I hope you have a-"

Mother is interrupted by four kids who burst through the door, crashing into me. "Bye Gilly!" They all say, hugging me.

"Bye guys!" I say. "And mother, what were you saying?" I laugh.

"I hope you have a wonderful time and tell Prince Jaxon I said happy birthday!"

"Will do," I assure, "But as I've told you for the past four years, I think both he and I would prefer you just call him Jax."

I have told Mother so many times, but she still calls him Prince Jaxon.

"Alright," Mother says, "But you should probably head to the stables now because your carriage will arrive soon."

"Ok, have a good week! Bye!" I head out the door and saunter over to the Pegasus Valet stands.
