Hyunjin's POV

It's 11 pm and Chaerin wasn't here yet. As far as I know, her schedule is done by 7 pm. But sometimes she don't come home on time, she sometimes fill in the other doctor's schedule.

Can't she even text or call me?

I just want an update from her. It's not that hard to update, just one update is enough for me. I am not asking for too much. But I don't want to ask her, I don't want her to feel that I am watching her schedule on when she comes home.

"This is fucking frustrating." I whispered to myself as I can't even stay still

I kept moving while I wait for her update.

But there's none. I have been waiting for hours. This won't do. I dialed Minho's number and there was no response. I next dialed is Seungmin's number.

calling Seungmin...

"Where are you?"

[Hospital. I am told to stay here for a certain patient. I haven't had enough rest, I'm not complaining though. I just want to sleep. This damn eyes of mine kept betraying me.]

"Oh. Is this not a good time to call?"

[It's fine. What is it? Are you okay? Did you and Chaerin fought?]

"No, we did not. What made you say that?"

[Nothing. I was just trying to guess. Anyway, what made you call? If it's not about you and Chaerin.]

"I was going to ask what time will Chaerin go home? Her schedule is done by 7 pm but she is not here yet. I was waiting for her update but there's none."

[She didn't tell you? Actually, earlier, Felix's parents talked to us. They wanted to assign a doctor each day to stay at their home. Both Minho and I agreed to it, but Chaerin was a bit hesitant. Queen Faye kept begging her and she ended up saying yes. I was supposed to be there today, but due to my conflict of schedule, I asked Minho but he has a scheduled operation, so Chaerin is there instead of me.]

"Chaerin is in the palace?"

[Yes, she is there. As far as I know, she is supposed to leave by 10 pm. Is she not there yet? She texted me earlier and she was about to go home after giving Felix his last medicine for the day.]

"Felix is sick?"

[He is, but he doesn't want to go to the hospital. I don't exactly know why, but I think he has a lot of work to finish. So... he stayed at home.]

My phone suddenly vibrated three times causing me to look at it. It was Chaerin's messages and I missed a call from her.

"Seungmin, Chaerin is calling. I'll end the call. Thanks." I hurriedly ended the call and read her messages

From: ChaerinSorry. I fell asleep. I am here in the palace.

From: ChaerinYou're in another call?

calling Chaerin...

"Hey. I called Seungmin to ask about you and he explained to me about the plan you guys agreed on."

[I'm sorry. I wasn't able to tell you. I really fell asleep in the living room and woke up to realize it was evening. Also, Felix is really not feeling well, I can't leave. His parents weren't here too.]

"His parents? Where are they?"

[Yes, I am not really sure what time they are going home. I wanted to go home but Felix has a high fever.]

"Oh-"

[I'm sorry I didn't tell you about this. It was so sudden. I am really sorry. If you want I can give this up, and just let Minho and Seungmin do it.]

I chuckled with her cute reaction, "Babe, I'm fine with it. You are a doctor. The most trusted one. I am more than proud that you get to take care of the King. You don't have to worry about me."

[I'm sorry.]

"Silly. It's fine. Anyway, I should end the call. I still have to arrange some papers."

[Okay. Good night!]

"I love you, Chaerin..." I said and ended the call

Is there anything I should be worried of?

I started arranging Sangmi's papers because I will be giving these to the other attorney in my law firm. I just don't want Chaerin to think about me working with Sangmi.

I was about to stand when my phone rang.

Sangmi calling...

"Hello?"

[Atty. Hwang, am I going to win the case?]

"Seriously? This late you called for that?"

[Just answer it.]

"It depends on how you cooperate with your lawyer. It's not just about winning. You should tell the truth as well."

[I am scared.]

"Are you drunk?"

[I drink a lot of alcohol everyday. I have a high alcohol tolerance. Don't you accuse me of getting drunk. Stupid.]

"If you're just going to talk bad to me, better end this call." I said and ended the call quickly

I went to get the stapler and went back to my seat then my phone rang once again. It was Sangmi. What does she want?

Sangmi calling...

"What-"

[I really don't want to win though. I just want him to admit what he did to me, apologize to me and to my family for what he have done to me.]

"You said you're after the money?"

[I have a lot of that. I just want him to be indebted to the point that he will regret everything he did, and apologize to me. It's simple as that.]

"Say that to your new lawyer-"

[I'm sorry for last time, Atty. Hwang.]

"It happened. There's nothing we can do."

[I'm sorry for hurting Chaerin.]
