King's POV

"There are 4 meetings next week. Other than that, were 2 dinners with different people" my assistant said 

"I see. Thank you. Just confirm all of it and update me"

He bowed to me "I will, your highness" he left my office quickly

"Father" Felix called and knocked

"You may enter"

He entered my office "Why are you working? You need rest"

"I have to. I will rest for a long time once I passed you the throne. What brought you here?"

"Nothing. I just want to have a conversation with you. It's been a long time" Felix

I nodded "It's been years. How are you and Chaerin? Are you two good?"

"Hmm. I was supposed to go on a date with her tonight but she said she needs to help with the chores. She is always like that. She has time for helping with the chores when we have a lot of maids to do that. I need to beg for her time" Felix shook his head as a sign of disappointment "I hope we can have some time together"

"I see. You are in love with her. You might want to tell me some stories I will listen" I smiled and stopped what I was doing

"So, uh... Chaerin is the kind of woman who is really brave, kind, smart, beautiful, cheerful but not confident enough. When we went to a runway show, she kept looking down because she is shy. I told her that she looks beautiful. I think it helped a lot. When I had a dinner with the Thai President, I told the President that Chaerin is my girlfriend and he can't tell anyone. He is also invited to my wedding hahahaha. He is really looking froward to it. We went to a school pageant and I had so much fun. That was also the night that she looked in my eyes, I was so happy because finally she is not avoiding my stare. Lastly, I did a photoshoot and she watched properly just like what you told her-" Felix

"When did you start liking her?"

He smiled "I don't know when but I think it was the first time I saw her. She was standing at my balcony. I talked to her and she doesn't know me at all. She looked at me and talked to me casually since she doesn't know who am I. That time, I just felt different. Like finally, someone loomed straight into my eyes"

Just seeing him smile makes me happy. He never hold grudge even though I was away for a long time and didn't took care of him like how am I supposed to do. I know he is happy and I am satisfied seeing him smile sweetly.

"You do seem so in love"

"Yeah, that's why I went here to talk to you about something important" Felix

I nodded "Go on. What is it?"

"I don't want to be a King" Felix

"What? Felix, you know you are not-"

"I know, Father. I am born to be a King, I've heard that for a long time and I never wanted to disappoint you. I did everything I can. I did what I needed to do. I did everything to make you proud. I never complained in my whole life. But can you let me decide this time?" Felix

"Felix, if this is about Chaerin. You can marry her. I am giving you the blessing to marry her, just take over the throne"

"You don't understand. I want to have a normal life with her. I want to live like how I wanted to live not as a Prince who is being surrounded by cameras. I want to do those things I never tried before. I am doing what you wanted me to do for my whole life. Just let me decide this time-" Felix

"You know the consequences! Don't push me to my limit, Felix. Take over the throne and marry Chaerin"

He shook his head "Father, I apologize but-"

"That's it! You provoked me. You just pushed me to do something I never want to do. I apologize but you have to leave my office. Don't ever bring up this topic, again"

"Father-" Felix

"Leave my office"

He stood up and left my office.

How can this be so complicated? He can marry Chaerin and live together. He just needs to take over the throne ans make decisions of ruining the agreement I made 7 years ago.

"You are working again" my wife said as soon as she entered the office and sat on the chair in front of my table "Aren't you supposed to rest today?"

"I have to do this. I will soon leave this position to Felix. I don't want him to have a problem once he was throned. I want him to enjoy the moment and prove that he is worth the throne"

"Did you ever thought if Felix wanted this position?" Queen

Here we go again, I know this is crazy and I care for my son as well. I want him to be happy but he needs to do this. He needs to, even I, I want to give  up serving this country. If only I can pass the throne easily to anyone I want.

"Even if he doesn't want it, he has to"

"He is not some robot. He also have own decision to make-" Queen

"Let's not talk about that"
