Steve Plans: Part one

10:19, 23 August 2021

Steve POVI was suddenly awoken by a phone call. It was from Lee Chaolan. Lee? Why is he calling me now? Oh well. Let's just see what he wants. Dad was still asleep next to me and not even awoken by my loud ringtone. Well I don't actually blame him, considering what happened last night. But then again, he asked for it...I took my phone and went outside to the living room. Turns out I was the first to wake up. "Hello?" I said sleepily as I picked up the phone. "What is it Mr Lee?"Ah Excellent, you're awake," said Lee. "I was afraid you'd still be asleep.""Well I was, but..." I said. "Never mind that now. Why did you call me, Mr Lee?""Well..." said Lee. "Can you come outside for a moment? I'm at the lobby.""Wait what?" I asked, surprised. "Now? I just woke up...""Well then just pull something on," said Lee. "I'll be waiting. Buh-bye!"And with that he just hung up. What is this guy even up to? Oh well, only one way to find out. What time is it anyway? SIX THIRTY?! Can't he wait till midday or something? So I quickly changed and left to go to the lobby. The chalet was still dark, because even though the sun was already up, the curtains were still closed. I accidentally bumped into some furniture on the way out. The lobby was open 24-hours a day so it wasn't a surprise that it was open now. Lee was waiting there, looking at his phone while sipping a drink. I'm pretty sure it was coffee. He got up when he saw me. "Ah so you're here," said Lee. "Good Morning Steve! How's your first holiday with your family?""It's good," I said. "Last night something really big happened... My father came in the middle of the night with fireworks and stuff. Massive hoo-hah...""Yes I know," said Lee. "I was watching the whole time, via spy satellite. I saw how she mopped the floor with him...""Wait so you were spying on us?" I asked and he nodded with an smug face. "But yeah she kinda cleaned the pool with him. So what brings you here now, Mr Lee?""Oh yes," said Lee, taking something out from under his coat. "These are two tickets to a beach dinner during sunset. Give these to your parents later. Let them have some time together.""Uh okay," I said, taking the tickets. "Then what about us? We just watch them eat?""I know what you're thinking," said Lee, grinning. "That's why I have more here. It's enough for your whole group, except the panda of course... Make sure you wear a disguise when you're there.""Okay we will," I said, taking the tickets from him. "Something tells me you're the one who arranged for dad to come here...""Maybe," said Lee mysteriously. "Yes it was me. I have more up my sleeve, just wait and see...""Okay then," I said, waving at him. "I hope it's something good. Goodbye Mr Lee, and thanks for the tickets.""Excellent," said Lee, holding up his thumb. "Goodbye to you too. I'm guessing you're gonna go back to sleep. Say hi to Anna for me."I nodded as I went back to the chalet. What was this guy up to anyway? But I do know one thing. He has a thing for auntie...I went back to my bed and tried to fall asleep again. Turns out, I couldn't sleep after all these excitement. Dad was still sleeping peacefully though. Wonder how he can sleep with me shifting sides on the bed...By this time, it was already seven. So I decided to just go to the living room and watch some tv instead. When I got out, I realised that Shasha was already awake too. She was playing some fighting game on her tablet. So I decided to sit with her instead. "You're up early," I said. "You woke up early just to play?""Couldn't sleep," she said. "I heard something, and I couldn't sleep after that because it fully awoke me. What was it anyway? Did you hear it?""Uh yeah I did," I said sheepishly. "It was me. I bumped into one of the chairs on the way out of the chalet...""What were you doing outside the chalet at this time of the day?" she asked. "You wanted to take pictures of the the sunrise? But it's way too late for that...""I went to get these," I said, showing her the tickets. "From a friend.""Whoa..." she said. "You actually went to get dinner tickets by the beach? Who's your friend? And how come you have so many 'friends'?""It was from Lee," I said. "He suddenly called me and gave me these. He first gave me one for mom and dad only. But then, he gave me more, for all of us. He said we should wear a disguise when going there.""Wait what?" she's asked, confused. "How did he know that your father had arrived?""He had something to do with it..." I said. "He was watching us last night, via spy satellite.""He was watching us?!" she asked, shocked. "I better be careful with what I do...""What are you two talking about?" came a voice suddenly. "And why are you two up so early? It's holiday..."It was Sugie, Shasha's mother. She had heard us talking in the living room and came to see. "Well Lee gave all of us free tickets to a dinner at the beach during sunset," I said. "He gave it for mom and dad at first, but he gave one for all of us too...""This Lee guy seriously has some plans," said Sugie. "But why so suddenly?""He's the one that arranged for dad to come here," I said. "But what dad did was entirely.... not Lee's idea...""So I guess my secrets are out now, huh?" said Dad, joining us. I quickly hid the tickets in my pocket to keep the surprise from him. "Yeah that was a stupid idea, wasn't it...""It so was," I said, annoyed. "You might have known what was gonna happen. Also, thanks a lot for that wild goose chase two days ago...""Oh yeah, that one," said Dad. "Yeah I wasn't expecting that... I actually saw you guys at the ice cream parlour yesterday. I wasn't in disguise, so you didn't actually see me...""Were you that guy in the corner?" I asked, remembering. "That guy that kept covering his face with his left hand?""You actually noticed?" Dad asked, shocked. "Yeah that was me. I didn't expect that you guys would come there too...""Yeah I saw you too," said Shasha. "I was thinking, who's this weird guy? Why is he covering his face? Is he a criminal?"Everyone started laughing at this while dad looked a bit embarrassed. This isn't exactly an Adam chapter, but it's a continuation. I realised that it lacked a detail, so I added it.
